It's interesting how the game just sort of tosses you right in. There's like 20 seconds of intro dialogue and then you're asked to kill 8 worgs. Right out the gate, fetch quests.

get used to it, questing doesnt get much more interesting until you hit the WoD expansion area at like level 90

EverDownward posted...
Anyone got more advice? I heard being a hunter class was actually a pretty useful beginner's class.

at level 15 you will get to choose a specialization, and this is where the class gets interesting. once you're there check out icy-veins.com for tips on how your rotation of spells works.

also when you join a dungeon, dont forget to turn off your pet's taunt. it will mess with the tank maintaining threat otherwise

judging by this and your other posts you'll love WoW then lol

if you're horde I'd suggest playing on Tichondrius, I played on that for years

Perascamin posted...
Don't do this. If you're a first time WoW player and use a level boost, you will never know how to effectively play that class or the game.

i disagree, i dont think there is anything you'll learn about your character class questing at level 70 that you can't learn boosted at level 110. questing isnt really hard anyway until you get to the latest content due to the stat squish (not sure if that was changed with the world scaling though).

as i said before, a lot of WoW begins at endgame and the skills you need to perform a mythic dungeon or raid are completely different than those you'd use questing

there are 2 types of ways of looking at WoW

"the game begins at end level and it's all about raiding"

"the game is about starting at level 1 and questing and having fun"

the first one is just the most vocal and always want to yell their point of view at any new players

the thing about the "starting at level 1 and having fun" mindset is that it is 100% dependent on how much you like Warcraft lore/stories/etc and doing "collect X boar pelt" fetch quests for 100 hours.

at a low level you will barely see other players, there's not any significant group content (unless you count random LFD groups trying to speedrun through dungeons on their 100th alt), and honestly the storylines are pretty messed up. I think the last time I leveled a character from 1 and tried to go through the storylines there were like 3 different Horde warchiefs due to the old content not being updated lol.

I love everything about Warcraft so I can deal with it, but if you are hopping into WoW and expecting that "MMO experience" then you will be a little disappointed until you hit endgame. and definitely try and avoid the Burning Crusade areas during your session, I wouldnt wish Outland questing on my worst enemy

Leveling is an obstacle that you must endure. Endgame is where the game shines.

this, the game begins at level cap tbh

personally i wouldnt bother with WoW at this point if you havent been playing for a while already, it'd be like saying you want to get into the simpsons and then starting with season 20

Well, I'd like to do vanilla WoW but Classic isn't coming out in the foreseeable future and I'd like to prop current WoW up against some of the other stuff I've played. I'm aware MMOs are more of a meta grind and don't necessarily start until you reach a certain level or the end game (which usually coincide together), everything else beforehand is just whatever.

But I mean...I dunno. I'd like to see how things are, what it's like. I mean, if I don't like the game I can just not spend any money on it. I'm trying the starter edition for the time being, anyways.

dont take my post as a statement that WoW is a bad game, because honestly playing WoW might be my favorite video game experience of all time. i do not think i will ever have another experience in a game that rivals seeing some of WoW's world for the first time, the satisfaction of taking down a hard raid boss after raiding all night and wiping multiple times with your guild, etc.

its just that you have to slog through 110 levels of content, which sounds cool but the leveling experience is very bad at this point and needs a huge overhaul. it's really unpleasant if you dont know what you're doing & dont have any heirlooms.

my suggestion to you is that if you are having a good time with the game and like how it is and decide to stick with it, pre-order Battle for Azeroth (latest expansion) and then use the level 110 boost on your character.

My argument is that most humans don't actually give a shit about anyone else other than their friends and family, so they for damn sure wouldn't care about some stupid little fetus, most prolife arguments aren't concerned about preserving life, that's just an excuse to spread their dogma and impose their will on women.

but why?

expensive, crowded, a ton of waiting in lines for a 2 minute ride, etc

disneyland also feels like a giant commercial, basically the entire thing is designed around promoting their movies and getting you to buy stuff in all the gift shops every ride ends at. obviously a kid won't notice that but for adults it really does feel like a very well-made and designed retail store.

finally i do not have any sort of emotional connection to any disney properties so i dont really care about the history of the rides, seeing character X and Y, that kind of thing. i also very much dislike amusement park rides but that's kind of unrelated.

i have absolutely no interest in stepping foot in another disney park until i have children who are old enough to enjoy it, there's just nothing for me there

Romulox28

An alarming trend I've noticed among a very large amount of men in 2018 is that they possess almost none of the characteristics that have made men who they are for thousands of years. In fact, these creatures can only be considered "men" in the sense that they have aged the correct number of years to be considered adult males.

These men (most of whom are liberals) tend to have an enormous sense of entitlement, shirk responsibility, fear commitment, and only opt to do things when it is directly rewarding to them. In a sense, they are not real men but rather adult children, with a narrow mindset and no capacity to look at the "big picture."

No area is this more evident in than when you will see many of these "men" (liberals) talk about how they refuse to date a woman simply because she is a single mom, and they don't want to "raise another man's kid."

This is disgusting. Not only are these men choosing loneliness and isolation over a healthy adult relationship because of a human life, but they are also depriving themselves of one of the greatest joys of life (fatherhood) simply because they did not contribute DNA to this child.

For the last 2 years, I have been dating a single mom, and it has been the most rewarding experience of my life. Aiden, Braiden, and Caiden are like my own children to me, and even though I do not share a DNA bond with them and they call me by my first name, I feel a powerful and immutable connection. It takes a big man to want to become a dad to these kids, to help a single mom in her noble quest, and to deal with the three different fathers of Aiden, Braiden, and Caiden, and I believe I am that man.

It is very disheartening to see so many young men fall into the trap of entitlement and selfishness - to avoid family life based on some silly preconceived notions, to feel they are entitled to have a family on THEIR terms, and to only have children when it provides some sense of satisfaction to them. To me, it personally fulfilling to watch Aiden, Braiden, and Caiden every other weekend (hearing them say "oh, hey Pete" when I come over is one of the most satisfying things in a "father's" life), and I don't need the satisfaction that I somehow contributed to the conception of these children.

IIRC, it was an action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fifth main installment in The Elder Scrolls series, following The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and was originally released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on November 11, 2011.

The game's main story revolves around the player character's quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. The game is set 200 years after the events of Oblivion and takes place in the fictional province of Skyrim. Over the course of the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills. The game continues the open-world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time, and to ignore or postpone the main storyline indefinitely.

Not 100% on this but I believe it was developed using the Creation Engine, rebuilt specifically for the game. The team opted for a unique and more diverse open world than Oblivion's Imperial Province of Cyrodiil, which game director and executive producer Todd Howard considered less interesting by comparison. The game was released to critical acclaim, with reviewers particularly mentioning the character development and setting, and is considered to be one of the greatest video games of all time. It nonetheless received some criticism, particularly for its numerous technical issues present at launch. The game shipped over seven million copies to retailers within the first week of its release, and over 30 million copies on all platforms.

something im surprised a lot of reviewers didnt pick up on for GoW4 is how empty the world feels.

the whole game is about setting up this Norse world, building it up, revealing lore, etc but the world doesnt feel real at all. it's just a bunch of wooded and snowy areas that are connected.

nothing feels lived in, there's no towns or cities, there's no houses besides kratos' shack and the witch. honestly there's like 5 or 6 characters in the entire game, two are the plot device dwarves that felt like drebin from MGS4, etc. i found it really hard to care about the greater struggle at all
