stats and probabilities have a lot of intuition breakers but I tend to shy away from the topics and stick more towards differential geometry and groups but mainly because theyre useful for modeling physical systems

but theres so much cool stuff with probability

My goal is to be able to make a good chunk with the startup I'm working for, then let my wife focus on her career once the oldest hits like 4 or 5 years old because I want to home school them for a while.

i definitely think at least one parent needs to stay home with a kid just based on experience

with two its nearly impossible to have two incomes. really tugs at my wife too. I tell her all the time all she has to do is score a job that makes more dough than me and we can switch instantly (after a bit of a hunt she could probably find one with a comparable salary) but then she starts panicking about being away from the kids because she wants to be near them all the time.

its a complex struggle that the modern woman has to endure if a large portion of their identity is tied up in their career.

i dont want her to be stay at home but she does right now

i just want her to be happy whatever she does

Okay been home for a while. I'm starting to feel the soreness with the local wearing off.

I waited about 20 minutes for the doctor to come in, which is great when you're already a little anxious.

I was not put under. The worst part were the shots to numb. Whole thing took about 10 minutes I think. I got the no scalpel procedure.

I work with a lot of different companies and they see how I work and offer me jobs

also just check indeed every now and then for jobs slightly above my level and blast off resumes to see if I get any bites

My rule of thumb is to always have at least 2 other offers I'd be able to jump on should something go really bad

Plan B and plan C

Gets you two things - more confidence to negotiate at your current job, and a good sense of what your paycheck should be worth (if you can get offers for $X and you are making $X - $Y at the moment, then you may be being underpaid)
