The 2d6 averages 7 damage. The d12 averages 6.5... but! The d12 is more likely to get you those spikey highs, with a 1/12 chance of max damage. 2d6 has a 1/36 chance to roll a 12. 2d6 has a higher minimum also, but you will tend toward the middle (6,7,8). When we keep calculating we see that we have a 1/6 chance on a d12 of getting 11 or 12, and only a 1/12 chance of that happening on d6s. so, other mechanics aside, which do you prefer and why? --- ( o _o) |

Eventually they will release it, when no one gives a fuck anymore. Just like Mother 1--had they released that on SNES or as an N64 compilation cart with Earthbound it would be remembered as one of the best games ever made. Instead, it's seen as a chore by most. No one made good memories with it in the past, when humanity had patience and was often bored. --- ( o _o) |
