Red Mage has some cool outfits too.

It took me a while to get a hang of the gameplay (you have to balance building up a white magic meter alongside a black magic meter while you fight) but when I got stronger attacks I was having a good time. One of its later attacks has a really satisfying sound effect when you pull it off lol; always love hearing it when I get to use it.

I main Dragoon, but I had a lot of fun playing as Red Mage.

Been meaning to try out Dancer at some point, but as I'm not playing a bunny girl I don't see the appeal.

He's just crazy and a pedophile, and at the time full of adrenaline and anger. There's not really much else to it.

You know, thinking back, I honestly feel like ARR was one of my favorite parts of the game. Yeah, the story's a slog to get through, but I have so many fond memories just going around trying out as many things as possible.

From different jobs, the minigames, doing Fates and the sightseeing log, to the beast tribe stuff, uncovering extra dungeons, and stumbling across Hildibrand for the first time, the world just felt so alive. It was overwhelming in all the best ways, and I was so immersed in the setting from day 1 that I didn't mind spending hours just doing pointless sidequests. I would go weeks without even touching MSQ stuff. And I was in no rush to get to "the good stuff(TM)" that I had probably been playing for 8 months before I even got to Heavensward. I just enjoyed being in Eorzea and soaking in the cultures and vibes -- talking to the people and having random adventures.

I feel like you REAALLLLY gotta be in a certain state of mind to really enjoy ARR, and it's not for everyone, but man am I nostalgic for those days now that I'm all caught up. Wish I could get amnesia so I could re-experience playing for the first time again.

Tbf like half the worlds had different maps for both of them. They did it better than BbS did, where it was mainly the same maps for all 3 characters.

It was announced last spring right? I'm guessing an early 2025 release.

The fact KH3 is already 4 years old is mind boggling.

(Almost as mind boggling as that they haven't released another actual game in all this time.)

I say this all the time lol So I'm voting for him.

It plays fine in the HD sets, but it's obviously not going to be as balanced as KH3.

But it's definitely better than the other handhelds in terms of snappiness and feeling good to play.

Though it's one of my favorite KH games, so I might be biased.

Seems like a good time to learn about the birds and the bees.

Im going to blow your mind friend. Just because a scene comes after another in a show or film, doesnt mean its occurring after the scene that came before it chronologically, it just makes more sense for the scene to come after the previous scene narratively.

None of that is relevant to what I was saying.

ARR is a chore at times, but I had fun with it. I just took things slow and didn't stress about "getting to the good parts." But yeah, the later expansions are all real good. Shadowbringers is probably one of my favorite experiences in an RPG.

The first half of EW was fine, but also I'm pretty sure the developers actually confirmed they were having the story mimic tones and beats from the previous expansions as you went along (1st zone feeling like ARR, 2nd zone feeling like HW, etc.) I definitely picked up on it as I was playing; thought it was neat.

Yeah, I noticed that.

At the start, when David had Troy Baker go get medicine, he said it was like a 4 mile walk back and it took him a couple hours to get back. But later, after David carries Ellie back and she regains consciousness, it cuts to his goons and they're still looking for Joel. I know 4 miles shouldn't take super long to walk, but it still felt off, even if his goons had been searching for at least a couple hours straight. And then Joel is able to tie people up, interrogate them, and limp over to David's all while Ellie's stuff is taking place.

I guess it balances out with the previous episodes going out of their way to showcase Joel and Ellie go weeks/months before reaching the next plot point.

I installed an app once, but when I saw the price I closed it out, uninstalled it, and drove to get food instead.

Good episode as usual, and Ellie and David's talk at the start was done really well. Troy Baker did a good job, for sure.

Though, I think the David "boss fight" was noticeably weaker in the show. It didn't really have the suspense and building tension like the game did (prob because since it's playable, it felt like "you" were the one trying to hide from him as well), and I think they could've pushed things a bit more here and there, but still good overall.

Can't wait for the finale.

EDIT: Also, why are ya'll still responding to Dragon56? He's just a troll who posts the same smooth-brain chucklefuck take every week.

It's animated by Ufotable, which is a studio that makes gorgeous stuff. But the story's super cookie-cutter, and the characters are obnoxious or cliche.

Wouldn't even call it "peak" shonen. Just "generic" shonen. I'll never understand how it became so popular.

Does Sentai stream anywhere officially? This new team looks really cool from the promos, I was thinking about checking it out.

Love sour stuff. Used to eat Sour Patch Kids a lot, but I swear they changed the recipe to make them not sour at all.

I didn't like the second game as much as the first game because the worlds in the second game weren't as developed.

The combat never felt stunning to me in the first two games so what kept me going were the environments.

The worlds were def super linear in KH2 due to the move from exploration/platforming to pure combat. I was disappointed as well.

The environments in BbS are probably worse than in KH2, since it's a smaller scale game (and it's split between three protagonists, so their individual levels are smaller to accommodate that), but there are a handful of good ones. You might like DDD more than BbS, if you're looking purely at environmental level design, though.

Office has more rewatch value. Parks & Rec had better storytelling.

I think Zeo Red is his coolest suit aesthetically, but the White Ranger suit is just peak classic Tommy.

I really like the gameplay of BbS and love wasting time grinding and trying out different techniques, but it's pretty easy to become OP early on and just break the difficulty. There's also a bunch of cheap enemies.

If you don't care about the story, then I'm not sure if you'll like it. Especially if you didn't like KH2.

But yeah, the movie was mid as hell. It's become less about making a good movie, and more of them just churning out the next episode of "the MCU Show." They're mostly just expensive as fuck Saturday morning cartoons at this point.

* well, as good of a writer as what Disney/Marvel allows him to write. I'm sure the scripts for these movies go through development hell and get watered down week by week until they're something consumable for the least common denominator of viewer

tbf, do Square games even run well on PC? I remember my friend tried to play FF15 on his, and it was janky as shit. From what I recall, he mentioned how Square is shit at porting their games to PC, but idk how accurate he was in that statement.
