tbf, Jason's gang went to Eddie's friend's house and beat the shit out of them in their garage, then later tackled Erica, a 13yo, to the ground. No one in the main cast would've been so violent.

But yeah, Jason's gang was definitely a sort of antagonistic reflection of the protagonists.

And it's a good thing they did. The scene at the end of season 1 where he's confronted with the monster and instead of running away, he runs back in to help Jonathan and Nancy is his defining scene. It's so good.

#6: Dustin Henderson
A fan favorite for a reason. I do think he gets really annoying at times, and want him to shut up at others, but he's still likable, and them pairing him with Steve was one of the best things the writers did.

Also, I noticed I forgot to put his girlfriend on this list. Ehh...put her down around 24/25. I tolerate her as much as I tolerated Bob.

#5: Joyce Byers
She is definitely the mom of all time. This lady's literally never been wrong about anything, and yet everyone still acts like she's crazy. Though, how the writers use her feels kinda of repetitive at times.

#4: Nancy Wheeler
Probably one of the most proactive characters in the main cast. She's always hunting for clues, always got her hand on a gun, and always getting into the thick of it. Love her transformation from this prissy girl to a monster-hunting veteran.

#3: Eddie Munson
It's very rare that a newcomer to a show becomes so well loved by the fans, but this is an example of that happening. I enjoy it when shows don't waste time trying to catch new characters up to speed and having them be skeptical of what's clearly going on. Eddie just rolls with it and ingratiates himself as a main character instantly. And he also gets one of the coolest scenes in the show (even if trailers spoiled it). His death was super unnecessary, though.

#2: Jim Hopper
Let's start off by saying he should've died at the end of season 3. That was a super emotional ending. Him coming back kinda ruins it, and his stuff in this season wasn't exactly the most interesting stuff (like most of the Russian stuff in general), but it's still always a pleasure to see him around. He's been badass since day 1 (well, day 2, honestly), and he continues to be so.

#1: Steve Harrington
No one is surprised by this. He can be put in any combination of any characters, in any situation, and can still work it. Toss him into the monster-hunting stuff the older teens are dealing with, toss him into the Russian conspiracy stuff most of the adults are dealing with, toss him into the Goonies shit the younger kids are dealing with. Whatever. He'll pick up the closest blunt instrument as a weapon and start swinging. Love this guy. If they ever kill him off, we riot.

#10: Mike Wheeler
Dude went from a main character to not even wanting to be in the show anymore. I swear someone killed Mike from seasons 1 and 2 and had a new Mike take his place. He gets high points for those first two seasons, but he was a total non-character this new season.

#9: Max Mayfield
Not a super big fan of her, but she got a lot of good development over the seasons, and one of the best scenes in the show dedicated to her in season 4. Definitely became more interesting after that, even though I do wish they had just killed her off for real, instead of this weird coma thing they're doing with her.

#8: Will Byers
If anyone is the "heart" of the group, it's my man Will himself. He's been through so much, and still gets the short end of the stick repeatedly. I guess realistically he should be lower in this list since he doesn't get much screentime or care from the writers, but I like this kid. He better be pivotal in stopping Vecna after all this.

#7: Lucas Sinclair
Didn't care about him in earlier seasons, but gets extra points for the new one. His and Max's relationship is actually pretty cute, and he's relatable in the way he tries to balance friend groups (to no avail).

#16: Scott Clarke
The gang's science teacher. He was really helpful and one of the few good adults in the show. Kinda missed him in season 4, even though it made sense since the kids were in high school now. Maybe should've put him lower, but idk, I think he's fine.

#15: Eleven
She's just...really boring. Was interesting in season 1, and has moments in later seasons, but she's just frustrating to watch most of the time. And her flashback episodes this season put me to sleep (until the actual Vecna reveal stuff happened, which was cool.)

#14: Robin Buckley
She doesn't really do anything either, but she works well as a sidekick for Steve, and later Nancy. I guess she's my least favorite of the main cast on her own besides Eleven, but she's fine when parterned up with others. Honestly wasn't sure whether to put her below or above Eleven, I kinda feel the same about them both.

#13: Jonathan Byers
Dude was so good back in season 1, then they forgot to do anything with him. You hate to see it. Hopefully the writers remember the Byers boys in season 5.

#12: Billy Hargrove
Total douchebag, but we love him for it. Out of universe, his actor is fuckin good -- that scene in season 2 where he dad bullies him and he shed a single tear? Fantastic actings. And he died in a really cool way. I loved the context for why he grew up to be the way he did, even if it doesn't justify his current actions.

#11: Vecna/001
I'm glad the show finally decided to introduce a villain that wasn't some monster or mindless entity. And Vecna is legit creepy. I saw the "Peter is 001" twist coming, but then was blindsided by him also being both Henry Creel and Vecna. I wasn't expected a triple wammy twist lol. Maybe it's just recency bias putting him so high, but his introduction really did bring back a lot of my interest in the show after it had been stale for 2 seasons.

Yeah, I like him as a character, and he probably could've been a ally if shit hadn't gone sideways in a way that impacted him so negatively. I was hoping that his friend dying in front of him would convince him Eddie had nothing to do with it, but unfortunately Eddie was the only other person around at the time it happened lmao

#21: Sam Owens
Also a character I forgot existed when season 4 came out, but at least he tries to help when he can, so he gets points for that.

#20: Alexei
Total G. Shouldn't have gone out the way he did. Just wanted a cherry Slurpee and to watch Looney Tunes. Super relatable.

#19: Erica Sinclair
Was pretty annoying at first, but her and Lucas' sibling dynamic is pretty authentic, and she was actually a good character in the new season.

#18: Dimitri
Cool dude. The better Alexei. Not much to say. Should've had a scene at the end of him reuniting with his daughter.

#17: Murray Bauman
I know a lot of people like this guy, but I'm always going to see him as a weirdo who convinced two teenagers to fuck in his basement. "How was the pullout?" My guy, they're high schoolers, why are you so invested in this. He comes in clutch at times, though, but I have a hard time seeing this guy as some sort of secret badass.

#26: Phil Callahan and Calvin Powell
These are Hopper's police sidekicks by the way. They're not awful, and they get some funny moments, but that's about it. Kinda like when they show up just cuz they're familiar faces.

#25: Jason Carver
Has the misfortune of not being privy enough to the plot to make any correct decision, but also being enough of an asshole to ignore the facts even when presented to him. His death was kinda crazy. Fun character, though, since it added some suspense.

#24: Dr. Brenner
Does anyone actually like this guy? Him coming back in season 4 didn't shock me because I literally forgot he was supposed to be dead. He's so boring. But he was kinda cool in season 1 in a "what's this mysterious guy's deal" kinda way. Hopefully he stays dead, though.

#23: Bob Newby
Was really annoying, and accidentally gave Will such terrible advice that it almost killed him, but at least he went out like a G. People only cared about him because it was Sean Astin.

#22: Argyle
Was actual pivotal to the plot somehow, but also really annoying. All of his contributions should've been given to Jonathan so Jonathan could actually be a character again. I do respect how readily he accepts the nonsense the main cast drags him into, though.

Fuck this girl. Eleven should've done more than just smash her in the head with a roller skate. That said, I definitely cheered when she did that.

You can include her whole group with her here. They were all so edgy and cringy. Glad they never came back.

Does he even do anything? At least some of his scenes frame him in a comedic light so he gets some funny moments every now and again, but that's about it.

#29: Barbara
Feel kinda bad she died just because Nancy was being a horrible friend, but that's about it.

#28: Yuri
This guy got super annoying super fast, to the point where it was like he wanted to be killed. Don't know how anyone could have so little self-preservation instincts in the kind of job he had. Should've died, tbh.

#27: Karen Wheeler
Only parent to have a sort of character arc. That said, her arc involved her wanted to bang a teenager, so I don't know what the fuck that was about.

Yeah, the fries are great.

I don't even like Erica, but putting her under a literal non-character is super harsh.

Could see it being a thing in a future expansion as a sport played in The New World.

Hated the game in FF10, but I might like it as a new job in 14. Would def be ranged DPS.

I didn't really care about Dave's earlier jokes about the transgender community since it wasn't much different from how he's always made jokes about more marginalized groups, and he wasn't being mean spirited about things, but nowadays he's just doing it on purpose to "prove he can't be cancelled" or whatever, knowing it's what's keeping him trending. The jokes aren't even funny, he's just being annoying.

That said, Snoop is just super chill and obviously wouldn't give a fuck about all this drama.

I didn't care about Yondu at all, but I still felt pretty sad when they gave him a Ravager's funeral at the end of of GotG2. Granted, it was more the act of his old friends still caring about him than it was Yondu's death itself. And even then, I didn't cry. It was just a good scene overall.

So if it's something like that, I might feel something, even if it's for someone I don't particularly care about it (which is tbh most of the Guardians).
