Forgot to be posting. Still averaging 1 pint of black tea a day.

Today's tea: 1 pint of Chinese black tea blend for work, 1 pint of earl grey at work, 1 pint of masala chai home from work. Don't know why I'm surprised, but people are going through the earl grey that I stocked in the break room pretty fast. I'm fully out of Masala chai.

I've gone through at least half of my stock of that Ceylon tea and Rwandan tea, but I'm months away from finishing that chinese black tea blend given that I originally got a whole pound of.

Did you want them to drink it?

Yeah you have I think a few hundred throughout your body. They function as like defensive checkpoints for the blood and are a vital part of the immune system. When you get sick, they may swell up but usually return to normal size within 6 weeks. I was just mostly concerned that it was big enough for me to feel and not securely held in place but apparently it's fine as long as it's smaller than 2 cm diameter.

Mine only enlarge because some got removed apparently. Pretty sure it was an unknown disease too but it was similar to others so they treated it with antibiotics.

Survived another attempt at leaving the house. The doctor this time seemed pretty good. The lump in my neck is a lymph node but it's not swollen enough to be a problem at all so it's totally fine. Got more at this point routine bloodwork scheduled and if it's low enough he's recommended the hospital check me in until my nutrition is normalized. I'll probably try to do that bloodwork tomorrow. Still don't have my MRI results but hopefully I will get them today. He didn't seem super rushed or dismissive and was pretty close to being on time.

Oh well, now I have an episode of bofuri to watch that I saved for after the appointment. I love this show.

Oh I get those a lot because of something I got from mosquitoes most likely and they had to remove two or three of them in a surgery like 9 years ago.

I've always found the "can't cross running water" fascinating on some level. Depending on the geography of where a vampire was sired, that could be incredibly confining, or a huge swath of night in which to roam.

I mean where I live, I can see the Hudson River out of my windows to the east, about a mile north and south of me are sizable creeks that feed directly into the Hudson, and I'm not 100% sure how far west of me that I'd have to go to hit another north-south running water source but I can't imagine it's more than a couple of miles given that I'm in the Hudson valley and all.

Meanwhile, if a vampire were sired in say, Utah, you could probably throw a dart at the map and draw a Connecticut sized box around that dart to scale and not cross a river with the sides of that box.

And if we're counting plumbing and sewers as "running water" then unless the vampire rose somewhere where they still shit in a hole in the ground, they're practically imprisoned tighter than a fairy in a bottle already.

I think that's only using their own supernatural abilities to cross. So they would be able to use a boat.

Hmm. Do I have anything to contribute to this? ... Nothing I can cover that has not already been covered, perhaps, except that I can add that most of what is depicted in The Serpent and the Rainbow comes from a sensationalist travel book called The Magic Island by William Seabrook, back from the time period when the U.S. more or less ruled Haiti as a colony. Seabrook based his account on his experiences in Haiti, but he also made stuff up wholesale that has no basis in reality. Still a very engaging read if you want to learn the basics of vaudou and the zombi myth, but it is only a starting point.

Source: This is something I actually studied back in the day. One of my professors was from Haiti.

My wife loves Sci Fi even more than I do, and as a compromise to stay married I have to watch Star Trek every night before we go to bed. The last week or so we have been watching the first season of Deep Space Nine. It's not been bad and I haven't watched the episodes since I was in college so a lot of it is new to me. It's not bad at all, and while I'm interested to see Picard I am not paying more money to another streaming service for two shows.

I guess I should clarify woth the whole marriage comment, in terms of I like comedy or cartoons before bed. I would love to watch The Simpsons or 90's Spider-man or X-Men, but Hapoy wife is a happy life. Thus I have to qatvha lot of Star Trek, and oddly Phantom of the Opera.

Marriage is about compromise.

There's ways to get around that. Also Deep Space Nine was one of my favorites.

* I beat the last boss, and the credits rolled, and the evil God swore vengeance upon me and The Dragon Clan. It ended with an eye opening looking at me the player.

I think you have to beat the final boss with the ultimate fusion thing to get the "good" ending.

I was too vusy cooking and cleaning to actwally sit down and watch The Oscars, I just always post the Stonecutters song every year, per tradition.

I did finish the original Breath of Fire a few weeks ago, and I'm deep into Breath of Fire 2 now. I only play at dialysis to pass the time as I can't sleep like the others in dialysis. I think I might get the Grandia HD collection next for my dialysis play Sessions.

I beat that again like 5 few years ago. Using save states and whatnot really makes you realize how short RPGs were in the SNES days. I replayed the GBA version instead though.

Only Japanese game I have been playing is Smash Brothers Ultimate.

Its been really fun trying to master advanced techniques and character combos and watching tourneys and learning about the top players in the world.

With the 1st season pass over now, we have another one coming out which will release six characters over the next two years. Theres been talk about Sora and Overwatch characters being in it which would be cool.

Pretty sure PCSX2 perfectly emulates all PS2 games at this point. If any game can't be emulated, it's 100% a software issue and nothing to do with hardware.

Upon checking, PCSX2 lists 96.5% of all games as working. Generally due to interest good games end up being made to work first so it's likely the 3.5% not working are garbage games that nobody cared enough about to get working.

I'll just wait for an Abyss remaster/remake since they're clearly going through their entire backlog.

It's definitely not something to ever be taken lightly. You have to understand going in that their child is their number one priority at all times. And the child shouldn't be "tolerated," which was dude's first mistake, but happily accepted into your life.

Maybe it's because I'm around the age where I should have or be starting a family, but I'm not opposed to it in theory. Of course theory and practice are two different beasts.

I wouldn't feel comfortable reprimanding a child that's not part of my family by blood. I just feel like it shouldn't be my place.

I got Dragon Quest VIII on my 3DS last week because I'm never going to find a working model 50002 PS2 for sale to use as a replacement for my dead system.

Anyway, I finally got up to where I was on the PS2, I have my boat. I also levelled up too much. When I got Jessica (L9), the other two were L13. When I got Angelo, the first two were L20 and L18 for Jessica. And now everyone is over L20. Shame the Liquid Metal Slimes never stay still long enough to die. I only got one so far.

Isn't there more content in that version anyway? I would love a full remake that also fixes the alchemy system and drop rate for the extremely rare drops.

I don't have anything to read.

I've read generally everything that interests me now, and I can't really find anything new. If I do, there's usually only like, a handful of chapters, and it's a monthly series.

I really hate monthly series, even if most of the ones I like are that. Yeah, the chapters are generally much longer, but like, I don't feel like that justifies having to wait a month for a new one. It's just large downtime, and plot moves either at a snails pace, or entirely way too fast.

And then they ALSO go on hiatuses, like weekly series do occasionally. THAT pisses me off the most. Like you have an entire fuckin' MONTH. And you're SKIPPING ONE.

Just let them stack and do a binge reading.

That reminds me, I've gotten really good at physically drinking hot beverage. Even if something was just boiling moments ago, you can still drink it by taking the tiniest sip. Not effective when trying to drink large quantities. It's like eating sunflower seeds one at a time.

I can't do that. I fucked my throat up like 4 years ago and can't feel heat properly. I have to wait awhile for my hot drinks/soups to cool down for about 10-12 minutes.
