Both of these are valid points.

The anime is incredibly strong, but the manga is much better paced, especially in the Bog arc.

It's a shame that nothing past that is likely to ever get animated, though. The current manga is very, very good imo.

Also on the subject of spelling out Kaiji's plans, as you somewhat called out (but I'm not sure you actually understood fully), It's kind of a running thing that the more a plan is spelled out, the harder it's inevitably going to fail. Meanwhile, the unexplored and unexplained plans always go well. It's a tad predictable, but still.

I'll go for hard mode on jrpgs if I know it's more than just inflated stats, but it rarely is. I generally opt for Normal mode on games I'm not familiar with and/or don't have a reason to pick a particular difficulty on. Easy mode is for games I want to play but have shit gameplay, so I can minimize that aspect (For example, I didn't like Nier Automata's actual gameplay, despite loving everything else about it)

There are some games that actively bore me on lower difficulties despite me loving them though. Terraria being the prime example there.

I would like to think that bribing one of them to support something is a lot easier than both.

CCM winning would be great for making Manchin/Sinema a lot less relevant, if the Dems were able to maintain the house somehow. As is, still very good for not having to do any 50/50 nonsense for things like judge confirmations and helping potentially mitigate 2024 a bit if that map goes poorly.

Even at the local level, the state democratic party has utterly failed to capitalize on the 2018 blue wave. The state legislature has basically been in a holding pattern supermajority since, with Rs picking up a few seats this election from the new maps and South Texas. 2020 was the election where Dems had a chance to do something about it and they totally fumbled.

It's been about seven hours since I checked and I'm still more annoyed than anything that Paxton won.
