Change in Ways to Earn Fight Money
Until now, you could earn FM through clearing the various game modes such as Survival and Trials. Unfortunately, this lead to some new players having difficulty getting the FM offered by certain modes.
Beginning January 17th, instead of getting FM for clearing the Character Story, Trials, and Demonstrations once for each character, you'll be able to gain FM by clearing certain primary targets, and through regularly-provided content. For players who have already obtained FM through clearing the various game modes, this is a new opportunity to earn more FM.

so is that generally the case? it just doesn't feel like there is danger in these battles from what i've seen. thoughts?

damage was lower than what should be in the full game because the beta was a toned down version used for events like e3/psx/etc. i think the armor was also better than what you would normally have the first time you fite things as well (maybe not rath/blos tho)

Out of curiosity, how feasible is it to actually keep up and get all the characters for free like this?

base game single player stuff gives enough for 1 season (6 characters)
doing the single player stuff for those 6 would give enough for 2 more
keeping up with the weekly challenges would give enough for 3 (~300-350k per year)
single player stuff for those 3 would give enough for another

so feasible to an extent but you wouldnt be able to get any stages/costumes/etc for free

also of note is you can earn fite money by watching pro tour events on the pro tour site. usually 3k or so but capcup yesterday gave like 20k

finding the right time to heal is one of those things you learn with time (wouldnt advise trying to learn it against diablos because FUCK that guy). the being able to move while healing is new and i didnt have to when i was playing so cant really comment on it now

for weapons the sword and shield lets you use items while the weapon is out so you might want to give it a shot. the long sword is what im seeing be recommended as a beginning weapon so maybe that also

not much in it tho. fashion armor exists but is limited, possibility for timed dlc events, armor color change unlocked at high rank, cutscene viewer will be added in an update, unlock houses as you progress and can switch between which one you live in

bounties - all those shitty gather herbs and kill a billion bugs quests are now selectable in a side questy style. can have up to 6 and gradually complete them across multiple missions

key quests are listed separately

daily login bonus - logging in gets you a few minor items. herbs and honey and such. also a voucher that works like the lucky cat skills

research levels - scout flies can level up. goes from track to track to monster, directly to monster, and then just shows the monster on the map. also improves field guide which has reward/drop info, weaknesses, etc

houses/pet - can get multiple houses, pets are those small monsters you can capture in the field

training room - accessed from the house. basically a fite game training mode but for monhun

squads - invite based in game communities. so guilds. max 50 members, can be a member of 8. who will make the b8 one

arm wrestling is back but we already knew this

gear previews - can check out what an entire set or a single piece will look like on you

wishlist - add weapons/armors to wishlist. will give a popup on the side of the screen when you get an item needed to make it. possible trap to trigger desire sensor be wary
