Patty Jenkins probably deserves a nomination, but comic book and sci-fi movies have historically been snubbed at awards shows.

Aside from Jenkins, the lack of female nominees can be chalked up to the general lack of eligible female directors, which really has nothing to do with the Golden Globes and their judging process.

Yeah, the publisher is rushing to print more copies. Still, anyone can access the material since it's also sold digitally. I'm really just wondering why wikileaks is, um... "leaking" public information? Now if they published Wolff's tapes and unpublished supporting documentation, that would be worthwhile.

I think that the film presents it as true, Kylo and Rey both believe it to be true, and Rian intended it to be true.

Yet, none of these things in TFA stopped Rian from going his own way in TLJ. JJ could easily write his way around this in Episode 9 and undo Rian's decision by inserting adoptive parents.

It's impossible to speculate at this point, unless we psychoanalyze the directors.

They weren't the norm when I was in school... certainly not the "average." But they're common enough that you're sure to run across one if you set foot in a gender studies class. Their viewpoints are extremely toxic, but they have every right to test out their malformed ideas in the classroom, just as their ignorant male classmates do. The classroom is a place for learning, after all. Any student who actually did the reading should feel free to seize the opportunity to ask a question when called on.
