I definitely prefer the big-budget stuff, but in smaller doses. Just give me a 10-hour linear action game that travels from epic setpiece to epic setpiece. Stuff like God of War III, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed or the Uncharted games. But games like those are few and far between nowadays. |

Married with Children is one of the all-time greats, and I think we could really use a show with a similar attitude in today's era of hypersensitivity and overly PC nonsense. Call it "Married with Grandchildren" or something. Have Al still working at the shoe store in his old age. Throw a couple of dysfunctional grandkids into the mix. Shouldn't be that hard to figure something out. |

Basically, it's this bit of a radio show where women give their partner's phone number to the radio station and gives them a bit of background information. The radio station then has an actress call the partner and try to get them to agree to go on a date with her. They'd record the phone call in the afternoon (the radio show was on the air from 9 PM to midnight) and play it on the radio at night while the woman who submitted her partner listens. Afterwards, they'd either confront the partner with his infidelity (if he agreed to go out with the actress) or congratulate him on being faithful. If he was faithful, the couple would win an all-expenses paid weekend getaway or some other romantic prize like that. If he agreed to go out with the woman, then the girlfriend would win some kind of care package to help her through a presumably rough emotional time. It was honestly pretty fucked up since it's basically entrapment, but my mate's girlfriend signed him up for it since she was having doubts about his reliability. My mate did say that he was in a relationship a few times during the call, but he didn't outright reject the actress. He basically said "we'll see where this goes". A little while later, his girlfriend broke up with him. We still give him shit for it sometimes. |
