The doorbell rings and my dog storms towards the front gate like she always does. Suddenly, I heard a bloodcurdling scream coming from near the gate. I rush over to find my dog lying down yelping like crazy. According to the deliveryperson at the gate, she ran over and suddenly took a nasty fall when one of her legs gave out. I rushed her to a vet, where it turned out she had pretty severe bone cancer and that there really wasn't anything they could do. They gave me a minute to soak it all in, and I asked them to put her down. It's now about 12 hours later and I'm still trying to take in how fast everything happened. |
