I totally agree.
Sports is supposed to bring people together. Injecting politics into sports only serves to further divide us.

Imagine unironically thinking sports bring our country together. Go on the NFL board and tell me how the basic tribalist nature of sports teams made them all kinder and more understanding. Those people are barely a step above troglodytes and mostly communicate in insults and "creative" slurs against other teams. Go ask a Bostonian his opinion on a New Yorker and vice versa--I've seen people get into actual fist fights because they were wearing the wrong sports hat.

Sports are purely entertainment, and team/localized sports especially are a way of stimulating the tribal part of our brain that enjoys defining insider and outsider groups as a hierarchy that fuels aggression and hate. I pray that more politics gets injected into sports, because just about the only thing these people SHOULD be able to on with is police should not fucking executing unarmed black people. But hey, even that is too much apparently.

Not really, no. To say it was universally stupid would require one of a couple axioms to be true.

1. Nothing is more important than preserving your own life.
2. Dying for your ideals is never justified.

I don't think many people would be willing to accept either of these axioms in full, so I don't think one can say dying for your honor is always wrong.

You and your friends are walking down the street. "There, look! A testicle booth!" You chide each other, hahah. Then, a dare--

You've got huge balls, figuratively and literally. You tell your friends this, and saunter towards the booth as your friends hoot and cheer. Behind you, you close the curtain and a gloved hand pops out. It gives you a thumbs up. It points to your pants. It points to the ground. You can take a hint. As your belt buckle clatters against the pavement, another hoot from your friends behind you. Ah, those jokesters. Them and their japes. What a great story this will be. You inch forward into range, and the gloved hand takes your testicles in gently. The latex hand is warm against your scrotum. It expertly navigates your testicles and you lean your head back a bit. Then, the gloved hand seems to frown. It goes back over your right testicle. A pause. Hesitation. Your heart sinks. The hand gingerly releases your testicle then points at your right testicle. It makes some gestures like shaping a mound, then a signal that you think might mean "no good". Outside, your friends are still hooting. A second gloved hand reaches out with a syringe. It gestures it's gonna need a blood test.

"How long until I get the results back?" you gesture with your testicles, choking back tears. The hands shrug. Behind you, your friend Dave says they're gonna grab some corndogs if you two need some alone time. Your other friends howl with laughter. You pull your pants up and open the curtain back up. They've already got their hands up to high five you.

He's pinned at the shoulder's by both police using a pseudo-hammerlock, which is preventing him from moving. It's pretty clear that he's resisting still if you know what grappling actually looks like.

Because people show up and start yelling at the cops all the time, and they need people to create a perimeter to prevent some idiot from charging in and being a "hero". Like here, our camera man is so hyped up he doesn't realize the suspect literally has basically no pressure his diaphragm from breathing, but keeps yelling at the officer's that the suspect can't breathe. No, this isn't George Floyd, he was being correctly restrained and he could breathe just fine. He's just upset he's being arrested and won't stop resisting long enough to put him in cuffs.

Sometimes the cops do their job correctly. This is one of those times. I think weed crimes are unjust, which looks like the violation here, but that's an issue to bring up with your State Representatives, not the cops while they're making an arrest.

Space doesn't move in relation to other point of space, it expands. Space doesn't have a space-time coordiate, it's the fabric by which space-time coordinates are mapped. Vis-a-vis, it cannot move faster than light as it doesn't have a worldline. It never "moves". The distance between it just increases.

The rotational velocity of objects in a black hole could never exceed the speed of light, no matter how much rotational energy is added to the system. The event horizon is an inescapable boundary for all known data. For an objects rotational velocity to exceed the speed of light, it's tangential velocity must also exceed the speed of light, which is impossible.

For traditional perfect orbit, rotational velocity is essentially defined by the tangetial velocity of an object and it's distance from the object it's rotating around. For more complex orbits we'd need more complex definitions for the variations within the orbit, but at no point could the tangetial velocity exceed the speed of light.

Sofia is European Spanish (Kind of, not really), Cuzco is Incan, Aladdin is Arabian, and Genie is played by a white guy and his human form is a white/arabian guy.

The man was no longer being battered after he was on the ground. The injuries were sustained during the slam. They held him down and handcuffed him to prevent him from fleeing. Bear in mind the officers who had taken his license still didn't have time to run him in the system and didn't know he was the wrong guy, though they also weren't the ones trying to initially physically restrain him either. Police are allowed to detain suspects pending identification but should do so nonviolently if possible (Obviously). Once the situation escalated physically because of Officer Hambone McBodyslam's recklessness they needed to control the suspect before they could begin de-escalating--You can't ascertain whether a suspect will remain cooperative with you if you de-escalate while you're in the middle of wrestling with him. The only thing worse than using illegal force on someone is using illegal force and then being so incompetent that he gets free while still rightfully pissed off and causes more injuries, either to the police or himself.

So yeah, fire Officer McBodyslam and charge him with Assault and whatever else. Give the other Three Stooges a write-up for poor management of the scene and identification of the suspect.

the problem is as soon as he did the bodyslam they all joined in. that's the thing. even "nice cops" will instantly help to hurt someone as soon as one of them decides to cross the line. there could be 5 cops all talking friendly with someone for like 10 minutes. then a new cop comes, and instantly punches the guy, and then all the 5 "friendly cops" will jump on the victim to subdue him. no matter how friendly a cop seems, they WILL turn on you at the drop of a hat if a coworker decides to the take the lead on an attack.

What else are they supposed to do? None of the other officers used injurious force, and it's more likely that additional injury will occur if one officer is forced to exert all their effort to restrain one person, especially if he gets angry about being (unjustly) detained. You're talking like the other officers just started wailing on the dude after he was taken down. They didn't, they controlled the suspect safely after the initial use excessive force to prevent escalation.

Probably not. The concept of deeply tanned skin in Japan is more often associated with Ganguro fashion and everything that followed it in the decades since rather than any phenotypically dark-skinned peoples, as Japan has VERY few foreigners living in it with dark complexions. Which isn't to say that some more forward-thinking Mangaka don't include actually dark skinned people in their work, especially in ensemble-styled mangas like Bleach where it's important to differentiate many characters using distinct visuals.

Yeah, I enjoyed the story overall and thought the presentation was absolutely top-notch as well. Great acting, great visuals, all great. I had a problem with a couple components of it like the way they killed Joel ffs, and as a narrative I don't think it was great or anything, but most of the individual pieces were done with such polish that it was still a great experience.

there is ZERO archeological evidence of anything that happens in the book of exodus. it's 100% made up. the ancient hebrews were pagan in the past, then there was a cultural shift and they changed into Judiasm. they then made up a legend about coming from abroad the Promised Land, defeating the pagans living there and taking over. it is just representing the period when pagan hebrews and jewish hebrews had political clashes and then the jewish eventually took over society. but the legends in exodus didnt happen. its all just allegories and myths

It's kind of funny how much of the Old Testament is literally just ripped off from other local pagan traditions.
