I'm going to have to disagree that what I posted was hate speech but it's no big deal, unfortunately certain topics tend to bring out the worse in people and there isn't any space for nuance.

Various hot button topics such as politics & social issues, if you don't agree with the masses around here you are bound to get modded. So I stay out of the conversations, because I've learned that if you disagree with it just a little bit you will be bound to have some report you. I got put into purgatory for "hate speech" which when I appealed made several valid points but still was in purgatory. I'm also not a fan of censorship I'm an advocate for more speech and not limiting speech

People who have been on this website for over 20 years (such as myself) have witnessed this website turn from a informative game website that gamers can communicate with things outside of video gaming turn into a soapbox of people's ideologies that people get modded for saying things that doesn't fall in line with certain beliefs. I'm a strong believer in free speech, and I think people should be able to speak their mind and if people disagree have a constructive conversation. Sadly, that can never exist on the internet, and things like politics should be left to in person talks. Most people that respond with "Shut the fuck up" really don't have the mental capacity to properly express their thoughts in person.

Not enough to argue with people about it online, however I will have a civil discussion about it in person. That's the only way I feel that both parties can properly get their point across without relying on safety of behind a computer screen
