If I were still a kid/teenager, absolutely. School in general is the worst place to be "different" in (I was already bullied for one reason or another. Coming out would have only made things worse).

Nowadays though, nah. I'm comfortable with who I am now (having LGBTQ+ friends really helped).

I heard if you want to vote independent you still have to register as either R or D... that's definitely rigged.
Why do you have to register as either R or D at all? You don't have to do anything like that in Australia. Turn 18, boom. Registered to vote for life. Don't have to put an L(NP) or A(LP) next to your name.

I mean, if a majority are voting for X party in a specific state, then maybe the other party should figure out why people aren't voting for them, rather than resorting to cheating/illegal activities.

One person is worth one vote.

apparently i've been stuttering for more than a dozen posts at this point.

there's principle in a perfect world, and the harsh realities of the world that IS. i can wish in one hand and shit in the other, but i know which hand i'm betting on filling up first.
So what's your answer then? Why is one person's vote more important than another? Genuinely asking as someone who has to accept the fact the LNP keeps getting voted in despite their nonsense over the past 7 years (though I guess that's to be expected when ~70% of your media is owned by Rupert Murdoch). Should be noted that in Australia you're registered to vote the moment you turn 18 and you have to vote, or you get fined.

More like adjl gymnastics to explain away the fact Sweden has handled the pandemic really well without locking the country down. And now, the WHO has finally come out and said the lockdowns are destructive and not recommended. That's what I've been telling all the "hide in your house crowd" like adjl forever now for them to just tell me im stupid and should leave it to the medical professionals. Well now, the medical professionals have changed their mind and agree with me. What do you lot have to say now?
I dunno mate. ~5.8k is a fair amount of deaths for a country that ignored all safety precautions. I'd rather go the way of the Kiwi (25 deaths) and lockdown for a couple of weeks, actually test people who feel they may have the symptoms, social distance, wear masks/gloves and then be Covid free months ahead of everyone and not be total Karen's about the whole thing.

Heck, the way my state in Australia handled Covid was also pretty decent. Going 67 days without a new Covid case now (locally. We have 4 active cases, but they're from overseas and in quarantine) and only 4 deaths. Usually around 2000+ people tested daily and 500k tested overall.

If the bathroom is occupied, yeah. There is an outside toilet, but I refuse to use it because the dunny spiders have claimed it for years.

What makes you think most people think it is over?
If it's anywhere like in New Zealand or some Australian states, you would think it is over. But then we took the virus seriously (our state Premiers, anyway. Scott Morrison can jog on) and didn't have that many anti-mask/lockdown Karens (the ones we did have were usually fined/arrested, depending).

Ni no Kuni is a neat "Pokemon" game with an interesting story and world, though be ready to read most dialogue (there's not a whole lot of voice acting). Saints Row IV is weird dumb fun.

I wear my mask whenever I go out but I'm still gonna call out what I think is a law that quite clearly crosses a line. I don't think we should be having cops go out and arrest people for not putting a piece of cloth on their face or arresting people for facebook posts. Sounds like it would make a good black mirror episode but its actually reality

Also, excessive laws lead to excessive force
Again, that was in Victoria (and back in September). Second surge, laws put in place, easing up now, etc. A protest would have only made lockdowns last longer.

In South Australia, you don't have to wear a mask (didn't have to since around the end of July) and the only three active cases we have here are from overseas. No one has been locally infected for 64 days.

In Australia, they're arresting pregnant people for posting on Facebook that they're going to protests.
You need to mention that this happened in Victoria, where in that state alone there was a second surge of Covid cases and they went into lockdown, only now easing them (you'd actually be arrested if you tried to enter South Australia, or New South Wales from Victoria. I think some exceptions had to be made for people who lived near the border and had to travel over for work, school, shopping and emergencies). We took the virus seriously.

And yes, people have been arrested for not wearing a mask; like the "Bunnings Karen" (easy Google search term there).

That completely destroys the isekai part. You aren't riding around in powerful military vehichles feeling weak and powerless and ordinary. Isekai wouldn't enhance monster hunter but it could at least be harmless and mostly forgotten after the intro.

Maybe it's because actual monster hunter has no villain characters because the villain is always a monster and humans are pretty much all on the same side doing good things and you can't make much of a story about that. Could easily have turned the lore of the world into a movie though with the old kingdom, the engineered monsters, and the black dragon war that destroyed it all. Or make a goofy movie about prowlers.

I think they're making it so that Earth world weapons are completely useless against MH world monsters. Unsure how or why they would be considering Bows and Light/Heavy Bowguns exist.

But yeah, of all things they could have gone with, they went with the stupid "humans from Earth find themselves on a new planet for some reason" and probably become the chosen one(s), save the world and then save the Earth world because apparently that's what Monster Hunter is.

Not even Monster Hunter: Stories went this route.

From what I've heard, it's basically like those "isekai" shows (transported to another world for some reason, become literally Jesus and then save the world). From an interview back in 2016: "For every Monster, there is a Hero. An ordinary man in a dead end job discovers that he is actually the descendant of an ancient hero. He must travel to a mystical world to train to become a Monster Hunter, before the mythical creatures from that world destroy ours." I guess they changed that a little to make it American soldiers being transported to MH world or something?

Honestly, it kinda sounds like a terrible Digimon fanfiction...

From google:

Stand by:

"be present while something bad is happening but fail to take any action to stop it."
You missed the other one, which is also from Google.
"support or remain loyal to (someone), typically in a time of need."

Interesting. Anyway, the fact he didn't denounce white supremacy on live TV during the debate and instead trailed off about Antifa and radical left... I really don't get how anyone can support this rambling drongo.

Oooh, there's a third one. Again, Google.
"be ready to deal or assist with something."
