Well fuck. It's pretty much the same as the Bridgewater situation with the dislocated knee causing arterial damage. When Bridgewater went down there was talk of it being career ending for him and given all the injuries that Miller's dealt with over the years and his age, I'm guessing that he's not coming back from this.

Once news was out that he was coming back from his broken collarbone, I picked him up as a speculative add. I dunno if he's my best add though. I used my #1 waiver priority on Latavius Murray once Dalvin Cook went down for my team. McKinnon wasn't touched all week and like the day before the Sunday games I picked him up as a "just in case Murray sucks" situation. Murray is no longer on my team and McKinnon has been chilling in my flex ever since.

I dunno who I really want to win this series but god damn from what I've watched it's been amazing.

Oh I forgot I had Fleury for a couple games this year as well and then he got a concussion and went on IR. My bad on that one.

I blame myself for the Wild's struggles. Every goalie I draft to be my main goalie in fantasy shits the bed. Gibson has been good except he shit the bed yesterday and besides, this year it was supposed to be Dubnyk. I benched him against Chicago which was like his only good game. I'm hoping he can turn it around but....

Last year it was Schneider who I couldn't buy a win with and had awful statistics. I willed my team to 3rd place but I couldn't surpass my awful goalie situation. The year before I did win it all with Quick and I traded for Martin Jones later in the year. But of course Quick lost a good chunk of time last year so I consider it a delayed reaction to being on my team.

Speaking of the Wild, is there a reason Dumba is so widely owned in fantasy? He doesn't really do...anything. He's has the hit/block totals of a forward, he has mediocre ATOI for a defenseman, he's good for maybe 30 points I guess which isn't saying a lot. Good SOG and PMI but really I can get that anywhere. What's the point of him? I only drafted him cause everyone loaded up on defensemen this year and I couldn't get my guys before they were gone.

I've considered doing this for the right player so whatevs.

Yeah. Maybe I'm in a slight panic over Mariota having a dogshit game against Cleveland and Dalton having his worst game with the new offensive coordinator against Pittsburgh. I dunno if I'd even play Brees this week with Dalton having a really favorable matchup against the Colts. And hopefully the bye helps Mariota heal up more going forward. Might ride out the week and see what happens.

Speaking of Brees...I got offered a trade for him in my money league.

AJ Green for Brees and Demaryious Thomas (but he's willing to include any other receiver on his roster other than Kelvin Benjamin)

My QBs are currently Mariota and Dalton so not inspiring. My other receivers are Tyreek Hill, Emmanuel Sanders, and Will Fuller.

His other receivers are Parker, Funchess, and he's holding onto Corey Davis and Josh Gordon (for whatever reason).

I'm not big on Thomas especially with Sanders on my roster. And while QB is probably my weakest position (well, TE probably is), I dunno if getting Brees and losing Green is worth it. Another thing to consider is this is a 2 player keeper league and I got Green in the 2nd. So he's currently an option for me next year. What would you guys do?

So far my opponents have been doing most of the dodging. My opponent dodged Freeman and Sanders week 5 which I lost. Week 6 my opponent dodged Green and Dalton (both of whom were on fire before the bye) and I won that one barely. But let's take a look at the other weeks...

Week 2: David Johnson (I'll likely see DJ Week 13 unless they shut him down with Palmer out)
Week 7: Miller and Fournette (really lucky with this one as I lose if either of these guys play I think)
Week 8: Fitz (I wouldn't have been scared of him anyway with Palmer going down)
Week 9: N/A
Week 10: Lynch, Blount, Kelce, Justin Tucker, KC Defense (I will be very salty if I lose this matchup since this guy can't field a full team with all these byes...yeah he's bad and yet has a 3-3 record).
Week 11: Benjamin and Funchess

Getting Dak in a trade in the other B8 league got me the improbable win this week. So that's cool.

Managed to win in my money league despite playing the wrong QB, TE, and Defense. Tyreek Hill carried my ass and Freeman was my only other player to hit double digits and it was just barely in his case. Fully expecting to lose to arguably the worst team in the league next week.

I knew trusting a QB with a bum hamstring who relies on his legs to extend plays and is on a team that is run first was a terrible decision. Yet I started Mariota anyway. That slide at the line of scrimmage was pathetic. Didn't even try to get any yardage out of it.

Figured I'd get your guys take on my predicament tonight.

Down 8.5 points and my opponent still has Tennessee's Defense to play. I can roll with a gimpy Mariota (who might not even be able to finish the game) or the uninspiring Brissett at QB. Who would you guys start?

Oh hey, I was expecting Brown and and Hass to be at the end! Brown always seemed like he got the stats but yeah, he never developed more than that. Slowly but surely hoping to turn this freaking defense around!

And to be fair, I was expecting Hass to be at a higher overall than he ended up being. If I had known that highly drafted rookies tend to come in at the low 80's with mid-high 80's being much rarer, I wouldn't have picked him.

How about we all agree to just skip the #4 Overall Picks yeah? Sounds good.

Wasn't the worst pick of the round!

Not sure if I'm going to make the draft tonight and I dunno if you're around KFC, but I've worked out a conditional trade down in case my guy gets taken. Should I post it here or no? Not sure what the protocol for something like this would be!

My parents consider my car and school loan payments as my rent payment so *shrug*

I've probably saved up enough to move out actually but my job is like 10 minutes away which saves me some money on gas and commute time. So it's just easier right now to use whatever I'd be spending on rent/groceries on loan payments instead.

Plus I can probably count on one hand the number of close friends I have who have moved out so I don't really feel any pressure to do so at the moment. I imagine I'll move out within 2 years though, definitely before I'm 30.

Definitely missing CB on your list, Emerald. Think FB is the other one as well. Think WR, FS, and SS have seen a decline in 1st round talent in recent years. This year I'd include HB and DE to that list.

As for your first two points...I just kinda shrug my shoulders and go with it. Nothing I can do about it so not going to worry about it!

As for your third point...I just kinda go with what I'd do in that situation. I generally lean toward need but if there's not a pick that addresses an immediate need, then I will look at the ages of players for user teams and see what's available and for AI teams just roll the dice. It's fun!

I don't think it was that high and I believe it was the Raiders (who picked 11th according to the draft PM I sent Emerald) and looking at they're roster...yeah, pretty sure it was Reshad Jones...who's now a 90. Pioneers also drafted Russell Wilson in the first yet despite having drafted Mark Sanchez in the top 5 or something the year before. Wilson ended up being an 88. So yeah, AI cheats!

I am halfway through my first draft of my mock draft, and man this feels way harder than last year. Mainly because of all the OT and HB populating the projected 1st rd combined with the sparseness of other positions that have seemed like they've been strong the past few years.

Oh good, I'm not the only one. I think it starts up top too. Like last year was pretty straight forward minus the Lightning who could have gone two ways. This year's a lot more unpredictable which makes the rest of the round unpredictable as well. Should be fun to see how off we are!
