Hm. Looking at the standings it's tough to say where I'm going to end up but I'm going to be dropping from 3rd to either 6th or entirely out of the playoffs altogether. That's how tight the window is right now.

Luckily I've got two winnable matches still left. As long as Freeman is good to go next week, my RB situation should be settled. Mariota has a good string of matchups coming up (and just put up really solid numbers against Pittsburgh). Might have to switch up my defense with the Rams playing against the Saints next week so we'll see what happens I guess.

Bad time for my team to put up its worst performance of the year, barely 70 points this week when my previous low was 89.

Rams special teams really let me down today. Defense got a big 0 points and Zuerlein only 1. Uggh.

Bye is probably out of the question now but gonna need to win the next 2 weeks to make the playoffs. So many teams at 6-4 or 5-5 that it's gonna come down to the wire.

Hm. Looks like Woodhead was activated. I need another RB with Freeman out and I feel like the obvious play is to just play him even if it's his first game back coming off a torn hamstring. But this Austin Ekeler dude ran circles around Gordon last week and gets Buffalo who have been putrid against the run the past couple weeks. Or I guess I could bench Sanders and just play both. *shrug*

Oh no. Who will my coworker confer with for her football picks now???

Going against Bell in my money league and Brown/Boswell in my B8 league. So a TD pass to Jesse James after a Bell TD was reversed is just fine with me.

I just went back and looked at my draft and my Top 7 picks are still on the team (only because I put Dalvin Cook in the IR spot as I plan on him being one of my keepers for next year). Then Dalton in the 12th. Everyone else I've dumped. Could have been my first 8 picks but I dropped Doyle and he got picked up.

Dishonored 1 is great. Playing through Nier Automata first before I get to Dishonored 2 but I'm excited for that one.

If you care about length, Dishonored is pretty short. Maybe 12 hours. Can't imagine the 2nd being much longer. But it's good fun.

Geez. My opponent last week made me sweat a bit. Up until Saturday his starting lineup consisted of Tom Brady, Julio Jones, Moncrief, and Ted Ginn. That's it, everyone else was on bye. He's been getting shit on all year for not really setting his lineup or just dicking around (he played Kaepernick during Brady's bye instead of Cutler which I think cost him a win). Then he realized that the bottom 4 teams are all eligible to take the ACT (our punishment for coming in last) instead of just whoever finishes last during the regular season.

And I dunno what devil magic he used but everyone he picked up worked for him. He moved Burkhead from his bench to his starting lineup. Picked up Latavius Murray, Ed Dickson, and TB Defense (all of which scored 10+ points) and the Jets Kicker who got him 5 points. Then I lost Freeman to injury and my TE scored less than 1 point so I was basically playing down 2 players. Luckily the rest of my team picked up the slack and everyone scored 15+ points (except McKinnon) to get me the win. But still.

This week is rough as I'm down my starting RB's. Freeman is looking like he'll miss this week and McCaffrey is on bye leaving me with just McKinnon. Was hoping I'd be able to get the Packers RB off waivers but I ended up with Austin Ekeler instead. Also picked up Woodhead so I'm hoping he is able to return this week otherwise I'll have to trust that Ekeler is going to have a repeat performance or at least a decent one...

Dubnyk can't possibly keep this up right? I should sell high on him. Yup.

But what if he does? Man. This is crazy.

Also his assist should totally count toward my assist totals, damn it!

Tell ya what, guys. Whichever of you lose worse to the Titans is the loser. Fair? Cool.

I too made an effort to organize a youth movement in Tennessee during my first couple years and jettisoned most of my older players. It...did not work out. Was a disaster really. I wish you better fortune though! While in the mean time, I shall hope Asante Samuel sticks around for another 2 or 3 years! Please don't retire next year. =(

As for my own depth charts...

Surprised to see Justice beat out McKinnie for the RT job. Gonna make it easier to shift around the O-Line.

Also surprised to see Wayne atop the WR depth chart. Gonna have to monitor that.

Happily surprised to see I have a new return man. Was hoping Blake Cronin would be good enough to win the job. Especially since I drafted him specifically for that purpose and was getting worried that he wasn't going to fall to me since his name was getting thrown around a lot during the draft.

Oh hey, I almost offered Cutler a contract too! I almost traded one of my QB's and would have needed another one if I had. It was between Cutler and another player and I would have opted for the other QB. So yeah! But no, I didn't know you were a Bears fan! That makes 3 of us in B8NFLL. And I know SpeedYoshi was a Bears fan too when he was in charge of the Bears. I'd move the Titans to Chicago if I could but the fans won't let me. =/

Well huh. A nice bye week at week 9...but we play 4 divisional games before the bye and 7/8 of those games are home games with lone away game against the Jaguars. Thanks a fuck ton, Maddon. And then weeks 12-14 are against AFC West teams. I always laugh at Maddon's scheduling cause it's ridiculous and would never happen in real life lol

Rough week. Could have been even rougher if I hadn't made those changes so I'll take this misstep and see where I fall.

In other news, in my B8 league, Benjamin being inactive forced me to move Robert Woods up from Flex to starting WR and Buck Allen from the bench to Flex. Got about 143 points now and easily the best score of the week.

Welp, time to hope that Tate scores a couple more points so that it wouldn't have mattered which defense (3 more points from Rams instead of Philly) or WR (2.5 more points from Sanders instead of Green).

Least they didn't drag my torment out the rest of the game.

Actually...I also just realized that Briggs doesn't really help him with his cap problem. The idea was that I would trade him a cheap OLB who still represents a significant upgrade (Dias has been actually rather productive for me) at the position for prof. This gets him under the cap while still having enough space to sign a cheap WR to fill out his hole that trading Fitzgerald causes. So uh...yeah...

That's fair. I'm willing to eliminate the pick from my trade. As for the Bucs/Packers trade, been a busy day so I haven't looked all that closely at that one and don't really have an input.

Also uh...there may have been a bit of a mix up in what OLB I was giving to the Wildcats. Prof put down Briggs when it should have been Dias. I'd have preferred Dias given the cap hit I'll take next year from trading Briggs but like I said, long day (and tomorrow is going to be just as busy) so I wanted to get this trade in so that I could get my Bucs trade under review as well before preseason starts. But I did confirm it so if Briggs is who I send, Briggs it is.

*shrug* Probably.

But I did let MZero know that I might not want to do that trade if my trade with the Wildcats wasn't accepted. So uh...yeah, that could have backfired on them I guess.

He also seems to be doubling down on that all-offense approach. Because of the current trade proposal between he and Prof, it made me wonder if having 3 90+ WRs could potentially be bad for Stan/anyone.

Well he drafted a WR with the no 4 pick when he already had 2 great WRs so it's in line with his past behavior!

But really, I'm hoping that either we A) do well enough to were it doesn't matter or B) Reggie Wayne retires at the end of the season (hopefully) making it a moot point. Worst case scenario is I'm forced to not resign Fitzgerald next year or cut/trade Colbert/Wayne.

Good luck, red! I think during the series I've come down on the side of the Dodgers more frequently but I would honestly like to see both teams win. So I'm just cheering for a good game.

Is Cursor's Fury the one where Tavi approaches that one dude and everyone assumes he's going to confirm his identity but instead reveals to everyone what his true identity is out in the open like a boss? Cause that's my favorite moment in the series. And I wasn't expecting him to learn about his heritage halfway through the series.

But yeah, it was a pretty good series! The only thing that truly annoyed me was that none of the true main characters died. But it was definitely more geared toward the younger crowd than Dresden so I get it but...it's a war that nearly destroys the world...come on. Not as good as Dresden but worth a read for sure!

Meh. I'm not terribly bummed out. I was planning on moving Thompson and Hall to OLB if they signed with me but with the recent rule changes I probably would have just switched to a 3-4 if Hall signed with me. As it is, it's probably better cap wise that neither signed with Tennessee.

Now I've got more flexibility with certain players. Defense isn't quite where I wanted it to be but *shrug* we'll see i guess.
