IIRC that actress is an actual singer, so it's kind of extra funny knowing that she could have sung it "well", but decided to be "in-character" and get all ridiculous with it.

Are the two Little Witch Academia short films worth watching if you've already seen the series? Started the first one but wasn't feeling it after the first 5-10 minutes, which included a version of the Shiny Chariot stunts show (something that I recall the series later doing better)

Most people like to say that the OVAs are better than the actual series. I don't really agree with that, but the animation is really good. The first one has a few contradictions with the series itself (the way that the Shiny Rod is found is different).

TBH outside of those inconsistencies, I could easily see those OVAs being individual episodes in the series (adjusted for time, at least). My biggest issue with the series was that some episodes dragged a bit.

I kinda get why people dislike him but I don't get the outright hate. He's funny at least, and he's used pretty sparingly. If he was a character who showed up more often, I could see his schtick getting old a lot faster.

He apparently was able to use it because he's been doing martial arts for over 100 years or something. He is able to dodge a few hits from a really strong dude but is still eliminated from the tournament within the same chapter.

It's not a matter of what does or doesn't happen in the comics, at this point it's what makes sense in the show's continuity. A billionaire *should* be concealing their faces, whether it's with the traditional mask or something new.

Visuals are a pretty big deal for me when it comes to superhero shows. They don't have to look exactly like the comics (very few movie/TV show superheroes do), but they should at least make an attempt. It's especially annoying with Iron Fist since they really just need to do a modified version of Matt's costume from Daredevil season 1.

He's wearing a lower face-mask in the modern day scenes. tbh, given the existence of hoodies, a lower face mask kinda makes more sense for concealing your identity.

I don't really care what makes "more sense". He's Iron Fist and he should wear the damn Iron Fist mask.

Jessica and Luke make more sense going costume-free. They both haven't worn costumes in the comics for years.

I kinda thought the first-person action sequences would look cooler than they did, but it often was kinda meh. I still liked the effects and some of the sillier plot elements (ie, Jimmy)

Some of the parkour sequences were more disorienting than cool. Makes me glad I didn't see it in theaters, TBH.

A lot of the shooting segments and the big brawl at the end were really well-done, though, IMO.

Also, I watched Hardcore Henry the other night. I'm not sure if it's an ingenious parody of stupid FPS titles or simply a terrible film with a cool gimmick and some neat ideas. When I heard it was like the movie version of a FPS, I was pretty excited... and then a guy with unexplained psychic powers entered the picture. And, of course, the plot bordered on nonsensical (so it kinda did capture the feel of some FPS titles)

It was actually pretty awesome, in a cheesy ridiculous way. The plot certainly wasn't the draw, of course.

Yeah, but that's sort of my point. For all that people tend to compare the two "because building", they really don't have a ton in common. And most of the things that make Terraria Terraria aren't things that appeal to me in the slightest.

Well the building is definitely less deep, being only two dimensions, but for me what really hooked me was the sense of progression; as you dig down deeper you find all kinds of items to make your life easier. Not just better weapons and armor and materials, but items you can equip that make platforming more fun and interesting. Like, you can get a pair of boots that let you "cling" to walls, and those can be combined with boots that give you a sprint, and THOSE can be combined with a "cloud in a bottle" that give you a double-jump.

Plus all the bosses and different biomes make things exciting. It's definitely a game that's more fun with a friend, though.

The manga is really good. I started reading it because my brother had started the anime, and I think I caught up to the chapter releases within like 2-3 weeks. Been reading it weekly ever since. I've only seen the first handful of episodes of the anime, but it seems pretty faithful, and well-paced. The anime being done in seasons definitely helps. I wish the One Piece anime would take note; the quality has been shit for years because they only try to adapt one chapter per episode (sometimes even less).

Limbo, sure. Shovel Knight has significantly more story than most Mario games, though.

As for the Zelda weapons thing, that is definitely something that turns me off from the game. I still want to play it at some point, but when I played a bit at a friend's house I immediately noticed the weapon issue. Many weapons only let you attack a handful of times before breaking, and the game doesn't even automatically switch to the next available one. You have to press a button to bring up a mini-menu and select another one.

tbh, after seeing a bunch of clips on YT and wik-walking, I'm finally tempted to watch Dragonball Super.

Watch Battle of Gods and Resurrection F, then read the manga. Even though it's behind the anime, many things are explained better, especially the BS power-ups.

I liked the timing aspects in Dragoon. I liked how how even the magic abilities (which were tied to items you had to purchase for some reason) had damage multipliers if you press the button fast enough. Also even the Dragoon attacks had a little timing-based thing that determined how many hits you would have in your combo.

I also like the way it was handled in Costume Quest and the Stick of Truth. Though, in the former, it got a little too easy. I never actually played Paper Mario, but most people I've talked to seem to like that system (and IIRC the Mario and Luigi games do something similar).

I read part of a comic not long ago, I think it was from the last ten years or so. Clark is having a conversation with someone who knows his identity, and they ask him something like "So, you can never take your glasses off around anyone?" And Clark responds, "I do take my glasses off. And usually people just say 'you know, you look just like Superman'".

I'm paraphrasing here, but the obvious implication is that people are so convinced that Clark couldn't possibly be Superman, that even if they see him without his "disguise", they would just think it's a coincidence. Like people who confuse Katy Perry with Zooey Deschanel.

Most modern explanations I've seen are some combination of slouching, speaking with a different tone of voice, wearing clothes that make his musculature less defined, etc.

Even though the "super-hypnosis" thing was clearly one of those old-school Superman powers that are never mentioned anymore, I kinda like that explanation TBH

I have a lot of digital games, and all of my PC games are digital. But yeah, a streaming console seems like a bad idea. Even the game-streaming services available on current consoles don't interest me at all. Hopefully Microsoft doesn't go through with that.
