Ideally Joe's new home will have a large rural property where he has the ability to just be a dog without worry of neighbouring houses who may misunderstand him.

Due to Joes dislike of most other animals, he MUST be the only animal in the home, no exceptions. He needs a large yard (with a super strong and secure fence) where he can explore and continue his training. A gated front area of the property is also preferred in order to avoid any accidents (such as a gate not shutting). We would suggest that all gates and doors on the property are kept locked and secure when possible to avoid any potential mishaps.

Joe can also get a bit anxious when introduced to new things and loud noises anything that confuses or overwhelms him makes him on edge and he has gotten snappy in these moments. We do not allow Joe to have bones as we have found this is a trigger for him.

Joe does not like water (how or otherwise), and will sometimes try to protect his carer from unknown objects.

JoeJoe is currently on Trazadone twice daily to assist with hyper-arousal and slight anxiety.

And did someone do something about the turtle?

I don't think so, but I'm paranoid now when I'm out with the dog and mostly avoiding the park behind my place. The dinosaur would snap at a pup's leg without a second thought (or a first thought because they're stupid animals).

Warning: Sad story ahead.

There's a large bush between my garage and my neighbors garage. Whenever my dog walks past it, he has to investigate, because on occasion a bunny will be hanging out in there, and this is unacceptable to Howie. Last week he was doing his usual inspection when a duck ran out. I was perplexed. Howie was so perplexed he didn't even bark it.

(here's where it gets sad)

Yesterday my neighbor was in our little community garden. I waved to her and she frantically motioned for me to come over. Next to her was a dead duck. And not just a dead duck, but one that had been completely ripped apart. It was graphic and horrible. On occasion someone in the neighborhood will spot a coyote, but this wasn't a coyote killing. This looked like it had been killed for fun.

(here's where it gets sadder)

This morning I was walking by the bunny/duck bush when I noticed something odd in front of it. It was smashed up eggs. Duck eggs. The duck had made a nest inside of the bush. A nest that was now empty. I looked up. Across the driveway was a large snapping turtle. It wandered off into the park.

I'm not an expert on the mating habits of ducks, but this seemed like an odd place for a nest. The nearest pond is across the street and half a block away. I wonder if it knew there was a predator around and had hoped that this would be a safe place to lay her eggs?

Normally right about now the pond would be full of little ducklings. This year it's empty.

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
