To punish him for his participation in mass murder. The issue is not about what he did Yes it is, he wouldn't be in this situation if he hadn't taken part in genocide. He's lived his life Lucky him, the same can't be said for all the children murdered in the death camps. The only real connection to Nazism here is that the logic of people who want him to suffer uncaringly are akin to the logic of Nazis who they claim to oppose. 1. He worked in a Nazi death camp, that's a pretty big connection to Nazism. 2. I don't think that German prisons let people suffer uncaringly. I guess it just depends on how you view the justice system. That entirely depends on what the perpetrator did. In this case he took part in genocide, so he deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison. It's a shame that they took so long to catch him, but he is where he deserves to be. If you're looking for gain, benefit, rehabilitation, fiscality, logic, goodness, justice etc like an adult, you see nothing here. It would have been better if he had been caught earlier, but it's better late than never. If you're looking to feel good about yourself and are extremely immature and emotional, you see a chance to "Slay the Demon" here like you were playing a video game. 1. How would this effect how I feel about myself? How I feel about myself and justice being served in a different country are completely separate issues . 2.
