| Luis_Sera89 05/08/17 11:35:16 AM #90 | I think being handed both a tier bid bonus as well as choice of attack/defence is excessive for a first round tie where everyone is supposed to be starting on a level playing field. If you want to run it that way beginning with the second match, then fair enough, but it's too great an advantage to be given off the back of winning a coin toss. Like, I think people are either unaware or unwilling to admit just how much of a benefit those two things are. If I were in charge I'd be tempted to postpone tier bidding altogether this week and give the high seed choice of either tier or attacker/defender status. In all but the most lopsided of match-ups I think that's pretty fair, and a better alternative than the "free" win some teams are effectively being handed this week under the current rules. If this is too extreme, then keep the tier bids but make it a choice between the +3 bonus or attack/defence. The way I see it, there's literally no reason not to try and draft a totally synergistic squad in this format, so I have several different routes I can possibly go depending on which initial lynchpin merc(s) I get, and the list of target mercs populating those lists are very different from each other. Trying to come up with a general list of 12 to cover 6 mercs is impossible. There's just a few of them that were never meant to be released because they hadn't gone through game balance i.e. Nilin, Slime; or they were old builds that hadn't been modernised i.e. Tank, Ramlethal For what amounts to a side-project I don't think rebalancing for other mercs is really necessary. If they aren't up to scratch because they need investment - draft someone else. There's plenty to pick from! Maybe it'll mean the usual suspects aren't obvious priority drafts.
