Just finished chapter 2.

I have to admit I kinda loved the whole break->topple on mechons pre-Monado and felt like I kinda overleveled here because I was finding the fights fun. Knocked my level down to 8 once it hit 10 as the enemies weren't a threat anymore.

Was not prepared for the conclusion of this chapter. Not even a little. Must play more.

Just finished chapter 1. This game's sucking me in and the music is great!

I think initially I may have been turned off on the whole "game autoattacking for you" thing but it's really not bothering me now.

I did turn on expert mode; which as I understand just makes it so you don't get overleveled completing quests; as in you can just add (or remove) that experience anytime.

What games are you playing lately?

Super Mario Maker 2: Trying to get the outfit for 100 endless expert clears; culminating in a lot of failed attempts; my best record is 71; and if I can keep it going that far, I can make it to 100 if I keep trying, just gotta know when to skip. Playing Mario is really just so... comfortable for me.

Terraria: Master Mode; of course; 1.4 is awesome. I was playing it with my nephew in the UK a few weeks ago but he's got to get caught back up on his schoolwork. Oh, regarding the game, I've beaten the king slime, eye, and brain. Haven't gone back to start working on the underworld, or decided I'm ready to face the queen bee or skeletron.

Those are the main two for now; should have some sort of game as a birthday present, perhaps. I'm also interested in going back and trying DemonCrawl (Minesweeper with roguelike elements) again now that its new update is out to see all the changes made to it.

The worst mechanic I've ever seen in a game past 2010 is Terraria's forced spreading of Corruption/Crimson/Hollow once you kill Wall of Flesh. You can get permanently locked out of the endgame in your world if you don't speedrun to beating Plantera before the jungle gets destroyed or you spend literal dozens of hours sectioning off Corruption/Crimson and Hollow biomes from the rest of your world by building copious amounts of hellevators or by buying a Clentaminator and absurd amounts of purifying solution. Oh! But you can't remove all of it because there are items required for crafting endgame equipment that you can only get in these biomes. So your best bet is standing over pits and tossing dynamite for 20 hours. And when you go and break a crimson/corruption altar to spawn hardmode ore in your world, you also have to worry about the game randomly converting a block to a spreading block, potentially ruining those 20+ hours of mindless boredom. Because for some reason the developers thought an altar having a 66% chance of converting nearly any block in the world to a spreading block was an amazing idea and not at all just spiteful as fuck toward its players or an idea that literally adds nothing to the experience except frustration and more tedium. Garbage.

I love terraria.

This whole thing is 100% true and the main reason I don't take the game farther than the wall, usually.
