Smash is the fastest selling Nintendo game ever. Were at what, 13 million in two months? Thats absurd. Denying Smash boosts and comparing that series to Kingdom Hearts is just fucking dumb. King K Rool was just announced, nothing else, and the dude almost beat Commander Shepard. I dont care how far Mass Effect fell. That does not happen without Smash.

I'm not saying there's no boost factor at all, Ulti. Just trying to find the right words to describe how the Smash characters being in vogue keeps them from decaying like FF7 did in 2013.

there was a kind of big Legend of Zelda game out recently. You know, the series with her name in the title? She was, as usual, only a supporting character despite being the title character, but she still had a pretty decent presence, not to mention one of her best designs yet, which, again, was used for her appearance in Smash Ultimate.

And that's just pretty much inaccurate, since Smash decided to use her Link Between Worlds design rather than her BOTW design.

Also, Smash 4 didn't go bringing everyone back. Smash Ultimate did.

It's not like Fox is some amazing character, either. Star Fox 64 and the arwing itself is cool. Falco is cool. Fox's dad is cool. The game itself being quotable is cool. Even Slippy's incompetence is adorable in its own way. But Fox? He's kind of lame, and he's been an annoyance in Smash from day one. And he went out there and got 72% in this match, by far the biggest blowout he's ever gotten in these contests

On a personal note, obligatory reminder that Fox is the guy who doubled Pikachu in 2003 and was considered a bigger overachiever than L-Block in 2007.

Finally made it through the wall myself.

I know Fox isnt much of a character himself, and certainly is one of the strongest Smash vote recievers, but that still doesnt make him into a Ness, though. Early-oughties Pokemon backlash or not, he still managed a doubling on the currently Noble-Nine-honor-offending Pikachu back in 2003.

And I honestly don't hate Overwatch. I don't like it, but I don't hate it. That game's major issue is you have these 5v5 fights but the matches are way too short. It shouldn't be an hour like a moba, but Overwatch is the other extreme where you have a frenetic pace and things are done in less than 5 minutes. That's not enough time to really sink your teeth into a match or get to know your teammates. The other issue is Blizzard's bizarre ban policies like allowing people to get banned for picking off meta stuff (if enough people report a player, they're banned no matter what, kind of like how GameFAQs works and you never want to emulate our trash moderation system). It's a game I *want* to like, but it doesn't let me. It's kind of like a lap dance. You start enjoying yourself and the girl goes 'time's up, 20 dollars please'. I'll take the escort and an actual fuck next time, thanks.

There's also the fact that compared to Counterstrike or Team Fortress 2, Overwatch is a joke.

Music =/= games, Ulti. If it were, Chrono Cross would be a lot more well-renowned than it actually is, and you yourself would probably be a lot more positive towards Star of the (Fall 2010) Contest. The fact that Camelot managed to get a PS1-looking game stuffed into a on-paper-better-but-in-practice-inferior portable SNES is commendable, but it's still a pretty fucking boring game.

In fact the last Zelda game to feature the Dorf as a major antagonist is Twilight Princess (Demise And Calamity Ganon look a lot different)

Since his match pic was taken from Hyrule Warriors, that can probably count as a Zelda game by this point. Of course, gaining match pic strength from a spinoff would pretty much mean death as far as pic strength.
