The other thing to bear in mind is that because of the prices, PS5 games tend to be unusually physical heavy (80%+ when its usually less than 50%) as thats the only way you can get a good deal. So this is actually worse than it looks. I think unless a first party PS5 game is really essential theyve been struggling with the high prices in general.

Ouch. Barely topped Horizon this week, launch sales were half of Saints Row which isnt exactly a huge title. Remaking this game and charging so much for if was a mistake Im afraid.

I dont think its as neat as pre-Cascade and post-Cascade because the latter is most of the story and has highs well above the former, but also plenty of lows.

Anyway, Homestuck was good. There is a really good podcast thats analysing it that rekindled my love for it a bit.

Oh its definitely more than people give him credit for, largely because a lot are changes people dont even realise are different like the various visual improvements, Cloud City looks much better for instance. As for if it offsets the bad changes Depends on the film I guess? The special edition of Empire Strikes Back is certainly an improvement on the original, A New Hope not so much, Return of the Jedi it actually depends which special edition you are talking about! I will always be grateful to the first re-edit for destroying Yub Nub, which is terrible.

Anyway regarding this game if they improved something they improved it, if anything we should want more of that so its not just that game again!

Those numbers are enormous, seems like the biggest streaming debut of all time by a very comfortable margin. Especially since that is only opening day numbers.

This is the lowest selling numbered RE below even 0 accounting for ports, and it started as a spinoff. If this had just been Resident Evil: Nemesis and CV or 4 had been called 3, not much would change other than the fact that the Remake might not exist.

Well film reviewers often use 3/5 to be average which score aggregators translate into a 6, because they most commonly use a 5 point scale.

The thing is, when people say 5/10 is average, they are using it qualitatively. Like I had an entirely average experience with this movie, 5/10. However, when you look at the actual distributions of scores, things tend to score higher than that because most people seek out things they think would be good, so the mathematical average when you compare scores to each other tends to be more like 7. So therefore Leon is right, a 1 pushes you below the average compared to other series more than a 10 pushes you up.

Of course, for prestige TV, the average will be even higher, more like an 8. So that shows it even further. If you want an illustration that the 1s are having more impact though, you just need to compare the medians to the means: both episodes have a median score of an 8 but a mean (without weighting) of 6.9 and 6.7. That shows that the 1s are pushing the means down. In fact just the fact that IMDBs own weighting is already pushing the scores up to 7.3 and 7 shows that theres negative brigading going on, either from bots or a demographically identical group.

Positive review bombing exists, but is much, much smaller, especially for things that have just released. You cant get fans together to vote a certain way for something that is still building its fanbase. The correct thing to do would be to remove all votes from new accounts or accounts that have been inactive for a certain period of time and so on.

That doesnt stop the dumb fandom war style of review bombing (eg the people giving Ozymandias from Breaking Bad or Hero from Attack on Titan 1s in an attempt to get the other to the top of the best episodes list) but it should significantly thwart the racists and the brigaders, including the small minority of positive ones.

It began with the forging of the great films.

Threads were given by JRR Tolkien, immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. Rights were granted to Jackson, great miner and craftsman of the mountain of lore. And nine, nine hours were gifted to the race of men, who above all else, desire quality. But they were all of them deceived, for another show was made. In the land of Amazon, in the fires of Mount Prime, the Dark Lord Bezos forged in secret a master flop. And into this show he poured his money, his greed and his will to dominate all film. One show to ruin them all.

My guy, nothings getting ruined. If its good, great, if its bad, ignore it the films and books are still there. A lot of bad LotR content has been made yet the books and the Jackson trilogy did not disappear.

I dont get people who go into something wanting to hate it. You can hate it of course, but why would you not approach it in good faith?

The villains in Ms. Marvel were totally passable and served their purpose, nothing more, nothing less. They werent the point. The show was great overall, and one of the few Disney+ premium shows that looks its budget.

On topic, looking forward to getting the chance yo watch this. Its funny that this is the show to get Amazon to take review bombing seriously though, since they own it.

How do other countries do it? Legit curious. Electing judges seems to work even worse, and I'm not sure how to create a politically-neutral group to appoint them instead. I always thought the big difference was that other countries just didn't have any courts as powerful as the US Supreme Court.

Most other countries that I am aware of have an independent body, yes. Some have a hybrid system (eg some appointed by the President, some by the parliament, some by the judges themselves), however you are right that elected judges is terrible. It should just be done by an independent body.

I think in theory other judges of the highest court are not necessarily less powerful, its just that the combination of the highly political nature of the appointments and Americas general inability to legislate on a national level or change the constitution makes the Supreme Court effectively dictators.

Political appointees for judges remains absolutely insane and I cant believe that you guys do it.

It would be the only Mobile exclusive though there have been a number of games that released on mobile as well as console and PC like the Telltale games, Erica, the Ace Attorney games, and so on.

Regarding splitting up games the general rule is that if it is a separate release it gets split so in the case of something like FGO I probably wouldnt count it. That sounds more like an episodic game like Life is Strange than a game with multiple expansions making a whole like FFXIV or Starcraft II. However I know very little about that game so youll have to help me out.

There were minor candidates but three major ones. Surely three is all you need though if one overlaps with both of the other two which is what happened here.

Since it came up in the last topic, yes, LFF can affect ranked choice voting because different orders of elimination lower down can result in different winners. This is why AV is flawed but STV fixes this issue by having multiple winners.

Palin and Peltola LFFd Begich. Palin never had a chance to win, shes too unpopular. My understanding about Begich is that hes a moderate Republican from a Democratic political dynasty. One on one Begich beats both of them. Peltola beats Palin. The way Republicans can win the November election is tactically voting Begich so Palin is eliminated. As it stands Peltola will win again if Begich doesnt pass Palin.

To be clear I am unbiased as host and everybody is entitled to their opinion, thats the whole point of these topics, I was more just referring to how it was at or near the top for ages then dropped dozens of places haha.

Lucas had every right to change his films and there are plenty of examples of films being improved long after release. The issue is that the old versions are inaccessible and a lot of the changes are bad.

A lot are better too though.

I mean it largely happened because Omori got done absolutely dirty with a 2/10 lol.

This game is probably a notable reason for a lot of my late-2000s distaste for the characters and world of FFVII which I know a lot shared. Advent Children was also a part of that but this just really wrecks what the main game set-up and almost seems like a parody of it.
