My first run was strength and faith. Felt good to tank attacks with my enormous stamina and great swords. Plus I had heaps and buffs to keep myself alive and lightning spears and fireballs to poke from a distance. Faith weapons are also stupidly good, like the bubble trumpet and blasphemous blade.
