Weirdly I watched a video about this subject recently. Fluoride makes your teeth stronger. I'm not a chemist and don't fully understand the science but basically, part of your enamel layer dissolves whenever you eat. That enamel then rebinds with your teeth when you're done eating, but a small amount is lost in the process. Fluoride not only helps to replace what is loss, but actually does a better job binding and staying bound than natural enamel does. Or something like that.

If you care about the nerdy, technical details of how it works (including a demonstration) here ya go. This channel is pretty brilliant as far as science communication goes. She talks a lot about crackpots and shows her work. Which, tbh, is usually way above my level of understanding. Though her explanations of the work she demonstrates are what I would call high school level.

So TLDR: Use fluoridated toothpaste and drink fluoridated water.

I watched the opening moments and I do like how she is presenting herself. I am going to pop this on my watch list when I have a bit more time!

I bought a Shark Vacuum. Roomba, your service has been valiant, but good lord this one does so much better.

I've had a Neato vacuum for several years. Haven't used it recently due to the massive hassle last time I had to connect it to the app. I should get it back up and running again.

Went for a walk in the cold, rainy slush tonight. I've always been fond of this kind of weather. I draw energy from it even. I'm glad to have found an author who seems to capture that essence so well. Oshiimi Shuuzou is probably best known for Aku no Hana (Flowers of Evil) or Inside Mari, but I think Happiness is my favorite work from him so far. If only because of these hauntingly beautiful nightscapes.

That's a really beautiful image. I need to go for a good walk like that.

Not in the "Ow I got shot" kind of way. Turns out 10 years of carrying heavy military equipment and turning wrenches and capping that off with 10km runs 3x weekly and ~100 of your usual exercises daily breaks everything down real quick. Bad joints, bad back, etc. The good news, I guess, is that they pay me a fair bit for my disabilities, so I don't need to work. Functionally retired at 30 but not a whole lot I'm actually capable of doing to enjoy the time.

Ouch... it's good that they take care of you for what happened, but geez I dunno if it's worth it.
