Here's the thing

If a game is compressed it's on the hardware of the user to uncompress it in real time for a good gameplay experience. As games have gotten more graphically complex the amount of things that a gpu has to render has gone up. So companies can choose to have games take less space or reduce the hardware requirements to run them. And they will almost always choose the later.

I keep watching clips of this game, and I love all the dialogue I've seen. But I have literally never played a game, video or tabletop, that implemented a 20-sided die system, and before seeing these clips, wasn't particularly interested in the genre.

How easy would it be for me to acquaint myself with the system if I wanted to try this game? Are there any skill paths or something that are easier to ignore the initiative system in combat? In theory, I don't like how much variance you can have in it.

In actual combat, you don't really need to know that much. The game does all the math for you. Of course, knowing the mechanics of D&D 5e helps with knowing why the numbers are the way they are. But most stuff you can just figure out just by playing. The most important thing is really knowing what actions, bonus actions, and reactions are.

You can't really mess up a build either since very early in the game you get access to a respec machine (for a small gold fee). I'd say the biggest hurdle for a brand new player is learning how different classes work mechanically and what they can bring to the table in and out of combat.

Some other things help too. Like stuff that is good in the table top game is generally good in bg3 too.

I was thinking about CHrono Cross, i dont even like the game to begin with.

I'm in act two now also and like my only major complaint is that I think they overdid it with ledges in the game. Like it's way too easy to get pushed off when you roll poorly on initiative, especially when some mobs can push you like a mile. or cheese fights by launching bosses off too.

i got kafka. only took 60. won the pity. not sure what im going to do with her.

Yeah for the record I'm currently level 66 not free to play. Although most of my spending was front loaded. for the past couple months it's only been the battle pass and the monthly thing.

My silverwolf currently has my best overall gear. Welt might have better gear overall score wise, but i cant tell because his rope is not upgraded since im trying to change his set. The probelm is the orb he has is absolutely nuts. But I think he'd be over 200 score. Anyways current scores of other units with effective stats in parenthesis

Natasha - 143.8 (15) (several pieces not upgraded all the way)
March - 153.7 (13) (1 piece at +12)
Welt - 175.8 (15) (Basically missing an entire piece)
Bronya - 132.2 (8) (One piece at +9, she needs help)
Selee - 187.5 (14)
Pela - 132.2 (10) ( 3 pieces not fully upgraded, one of them is purple)
Yanging 141.9 (13) (1 piece at +9, 1 at +12)

SO i wasnt paying attention and like i have no credits... so i actually have to run some credit calyx now

I like tea better but it doesn't do the job for me. I have all my coffee black. Probably average about 3 to 4 a day.

I have been spamming the exp calyx for the double drops, which has let me push several characters to 80 which I have kind of been neglecting. Right now I have Selee, Welt, Silverwolf, Trailblazer, and Yanqing at 80. I will be able to push Bronya tomorrow, then will probably follow with Pela and Natasha.

This thing is pretty basic but for that price it's a pretty decent buy.

The problem is that its from Newegg, and I would not buy from them. There are plenty of tech creators who have covered them, including Linus. But long story short, they have been trying to pass off refurbished or even simply returned products as new and then blaming the customers for the issues when they are inevitably returned (again).

This probably would not actually effect this actual build since it's like pretty low end but they have also just been shipping things that are marked refurbished but don't actually work apparently.

It has been around a year since this news broke, and I have not heard any real news since then though. But I would not buy simply out of principle.
