Not really. I know more about mom's side than Dad's. According to my family, one of mom's grandfather's was a native American and married a German woman.

That's literally all I know, and that's just what I've been told.

I mean having the life blood of the planet just randomly seeping out to guide them is really stupid yes. Also rock formations arent all browns and greys you know?
I didn't mention the color of the rocks, but I did mention having various different natural indicators based on the environment. Like vines in a forest, moss of cliffs, rust and pipes for industrial settings.

Also, considering the party passes a massive spring of naturally flowing Mako energy literally right there... I don't think a faintly glowing highlight is dumber than paint splashed on random walls.

Especially since Aerith can commune with the life stream and Cloud is sensitive to it.

They could have also used something like moss, or plant life, or small creatures scrambling up the rock face. Yellow paint works in industrial settings where you can show a bucket that's tipped over, but as you said you can absolutely have a visual indicator in the environment that works within the context of the environment without having to rely on yellow paint.
Exactly, the Mako idea was just in case they felt like needed some sort of highlight on them. Instead of ugly yellow paint they could just faintly glow and still fit in with the lore and environment of the game, and could easily be explained away with a simple comment like I posted above.

The paint is just ugly and lazy. But also, not exactly a big deal. Just a minor annoyance.

I had a thought. I dunno if there are other painted ledges in Rebirth, but perhaps they actually are painted that way in-lore because it's supposed to be a directed path through Mt. Nibel up to the reactor.

If painted ledges remain in other places then that shoots down that idea.
Doubtful since they get washed off the main path halfway up the mountain and have to find a new way up. Otherwise that would work.

That seems more of a stupid line of reasons given the nature of Mako
You mean the knowledge of all the people who have previously lived, who are trying to stop Sephiroth, guiding someone who can actively commune with them? What's dumb about that? Besides, mako springs from the ground all the time.

Can't be dumber than some mysterious force spraypainting seemingly random ledges around the world. Ones that just happen to be exactly where the party needs to go.

*party sees faintly glowing ledges*

Cloud: "Aerith, do you know what that is?"

Aerith: "That's Mako."

Cloud: "Why is it here?"

Aerith: "Maybe it's guiding us?"

Problem solved. In game life accurate and sense making reason why the edges could be highlighted.

Eh, I don't like the paint and it's brightness like that. It's ugly and kinda dumb, but even so, it's not the end of the world. Everything else is gorgeous and looks great.

I just wish that they'd made it more environmentally situational. Like the demo has you going to the reactor, why not have the climbable surfaces look rusty or damaged? As if the the perfectly straight edges in a ladder formation wasn't enough, just add some environmental detail to it. Moss or something on normal mountains, pipes and rust for industrial settings, vines for forests and stone cliffs. The yellow paint feels pretty lazy.

Generally, yeah. It can get messy/sloppy if I'm in a hurry though.

I have a coworker with the worst handwriting I've ever seen in my life. My boss literally banned him from leaving written notes because no one can read them. He has to type and print it out if he needs to leave a note. So instead he usually either just texts everyone or has someone else leave the note instead. lol

It was Genshin Impact, and considering that I never clear the inventory at all, so... Rich? Yeah. Crushed to death under a massive pile of weapons and junk, also yes.

Also too bad all the magic stuff is mostly tied to the characters in that game. Wouldn't mind having a vision, but those don't go in the inventory.

I guess the tea pot would be cool though.

How do ladies feel about guys with green eyes with some brown splotches?

My dad was an abusive, narcissistic, sociopathic bastard. So we did not get along well.
This. He's a complete and total asshole. I can get along with him when he's being decent, but those times are rare.

Like this past week has been rough, we had a death on mom's side of the family. She was trying to talk to him the other night and he pinned her down on the chair and got up on her face snorting like a pig. Every time she tried say anything he'd just snorting in her face.

Last night he got mad her and threatened to kill her. The reason? Because he himself had not paid the electric bill this month. That's the 1 thing he pays around here(which is a recent development, he used to pay nothing). He had the bill and never told us what it was, just complaining that he had to spend his own money on anyone but himself. So then last night at about 9 he starts cussing her for not paying it yet, and forced her to pay it, and threatening to kill her for not having already done so because he hasn't yet.

I can't stand the man half the time.

This. I just finished the demo, and these sections were painful. They were incredibly slow for no real reason. It really dragged at those parts.

I'm on the fence, I always flip flop about growing my hair out longer. I like having longer hair, not that it's ever been a crazy length or anything though.

The thing is, my hair has very strong curling loops when it gets longer, so once it's long enough to beging looping it kind of just bunches up and gets messy and hard to deal with. So I cut it short.

It's currently the longest it's been in a very long time as I was determined to grow it out again. I think I grew it out past the point where it bunches and it's now actually growing longer instead outward again lol. But I did decide to cut it last Friday before changing my mind instead. Still trying to decide if I want to keep it going or go ahead and lop it off.

I hate it more for his mom. I met her twice and she was such a a sweetheart. He dropped her off for me to keep her company once. She talked my ear off for like 5 hours.

She adopted him when he was just a baby. Man, I can't imagine what she's going through.

He was just 30.

I'm the one who trained him on this job, and he was one of the few that would actually help solve problems.

Though, he did get mixed up in drugs and ended up quitting. Over the last 2 years he'd randomly hit me up for money.

Yesterday morning someone shot him in the head and killed him. Left him laying in the street. He wasn't really a good person, but he didn't deserve that. The killer got caught pretty quickly, idk what caused him to shoot him, but I suppose it was probably drug related.
