After Unforgiven, Kane went on a tear. The next night on Raw, he and The Hurricane defeated the Un-Americans for the Tag Team Titles, and then the following week he defeated Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental Title, and then after that he singlehandedly won TLC IV against 3 other tag teams on Raw. Kane was on a roll!
Bischoff continued in his title unification madness, and booked a match for No Mercy wherein the Intercontinental Title would be absorbed into the World Heavyweight Title. Kane now had a chance to briefly hold all 3! But then Triple H would tear his world apart, by revealing a dark secret from Kane's past... There was a girl Kane liked in college but who just wanted to be friends. One night they were driving home from a party, when the car crashed into a tree, and the girl, named Katie Vick, died on impact. But the autopsy revealed that she had recently had sex with Kane! Triple H revealed that Kane violated her dead body! He even went so far as to re-enact it in a "classic" sketch. <_< Kane was distraught, and he and Hurricane would lose the Tag Team Titles to Christian and Chris Jericho (I suppose the Un-Americans must have disbanded). This made Christian a 9-time Tag Team Champion, second only to Billy Gunn! Over on SmackDown, Stephanie McMahon decided that she wanted her own set of Tag Team Titles, so the tournament to crown the first ever WWE Tag Team Champions was held. The final two teams are set to meet at No Mercy: Chris Benoit/Kurt Angle vs. Edge/Rey Mysterio. The Tag Titles on Raw are referred to as the World Tag Team Titles from here onward. Maybe I should define my terms a bit more:
By "free pass" I mean I'm not gonna take a dump all over the product just because its lackluster. They have an excuse. A really pathetic excuse but an excuse nonetheless. WWE has so much goodwill built up that I can ride them out to see what they come up with at their pre-ordained event. SD is clear evidence that they are still capable of a quality show. I will shout to the heavens that TNA right now is what wrestling should be, and I will nitpick WWE and say what could be better about their booking, but I won't crap on them too bad as far as the free shows go. But yeah, even though Raw has been kinda mediocre to bad lately overall, I'm still giving them a bit of a pass until Raw 1000.
I totally understand if they're sandbagging until then to make that show as special as possible, and then they gotta have stuff in the bag moving forward with THREE HOUR SHOWS. SD seems like it has a really good show every other week. This past week's was pretty good, for example. Impact was still the best show but SD was the second best and a lot closer to #1 than #3. MitB certainly has the potential to be a better PPV if they don't bog things down too much with meddling booking.

As far as the titles go, I don't mind the "Title feud revolves around AJ" thing too much in and of itself.
The problem with WWE titles lately is that it seems very few people care about them. Money in the Bank is at least doing SOME renovation on this concept with everyone vying for something that grants them a shot at the title. But the midcard titles are dead. Who is shown to even WANT the US Title? Santino, and sometimes Swagger. No one else cares about it. Cody and Christian care about the IC Title but does anyone else on the roster feel like they're moving in that direction? Ryback maybe? Last month gave the Tag Titles a shot in the arm with now all of a sudden we have a half-dozen teams all vying for the titles, but they haven't pressed the issue yet. Still, Tag is in better shape than US or IC. Divas is as dead as Tag was 3 months ago. Then you take a gander over at TNA and holy s*** everyone wants a title. There are currently 14 guys fighting for the World Title, 11 guys fighting for the X-Division Title, and (supposedly) weekly TV Title defense against fresh opponents (supposedly). That's 3 titles that are healthier than any in WWE right now. Of course then you have the other three. Knockouts is treated like a WWE midcard title basically--a few people are fighting for it but not many. KO Tag is essentially deceased with Eric Young off the show for months, and their regular Tag Titles, once the company's strength, have now been completely devalued. Rad Link, to answer your question in the last topic, everyone who won the Unified Tag Team Championships gets credit for two reigns, even though in practice it was only one.
The World Tag Title half of the Unified Tag Titles was retired during the Hart Dynasty reign, so everyone from Cody/Drew to present only gets credit for one reign every time they win them. It's kinda cheap but it's how WWE booked it. That's why they used the term "Unified" instead of "Undisputed;" to show that there were still two Championships entangled and up for grabs. David Hart Smith is technically a 2-time Tag Team Champion, or I guess it may be more accurate to say he has won 2 Tag Team Titles. Chris Jericho is counted as having won 7 Tag Team Titles by that same logic. I personally disagree with them counting the Jericho/Edge reign and the Jeri-Show reign as two separate reigns but I don't have the authority to make that call. "The Bum Bum Song" is unironically a better, more intelligent, and sexier song than "Summer Girls."
That song is the absolute nadir of pop music throughout the history of mankind. Even if the girl I picked up is happy to hear it I'd be too busy dry heaving to care. Survival instincts trump sexual desire and that song is actively trying to make people have an aneurysm.
