Again, most people would not care, but this could give another reason for his base to turn out in an election if for no other reason than another way to "own the libs"

They literally try and whip their base into a frenzy about MS-13, including in places where MS-13 is nowhere even close to be found. I'm not denying that they might use it, but it will go in a pile with all the other dumb stuff they use. There is a very clear enthusiasm gap for the mid terms. The only reason dems might not take the house back is the way the lines are drawn in so many states. (when you can win by 4-5 percentage points and still not take back the house, that is pretty bad). This issue alone isn't going to be the one that fires up struggling working class or middle class people. It's just not.

I saw a news segment (I think Nightly News) about how Trump voters were so FIRED UP to take down Tester because of his role in taking down Ronny Jackson, who was an awful friggin pick to head up the VA. Once again, there are a million of these dumb things they try and use. It'll just be a blip.

Interesting.

I'm actually more into Kiryu's overall. They've done a better job of establishing the family hierarchy with Kiryu, and his relationships with his friends and mentors are very interesting as well. A couple of the main mysteries are really cool. And his faceoffs with the family top dogs have been intense. Since I haven't played the other games, the path of manhood isn't stale in anyway for me.

Majima has had lots of interesting stuff too, I think Kiryu is just way more likeable. But also not having super clear villains till about halfway through hurt the plot in spots imo.

In terms of gameplay, Kiryu's side of town is bigger and more fun to explore. But now that both the "business" things have come out for both of them, Goro's is clearly way more interesting and fun. So that is a big edge to him. But like I said, I'm always disappointed when characters change, but it doesn't take long to be super invested again.

As for Republicans in Congress stopping Trump's tariffs, that's very unlikely. Republicans are generally not dumb enough to undercut their own negotiator, projecting weakness, when he's in the middle of a negotiation. They did it to Obama, sure, but he was a Democrat.

Several republicans have come out against the tariffs, they are just too scared to do anything outside of a strongly worded tweet. Not for any "negotiation" reasons, but because they are cowardly and scared of hurting themselves among their base. In the case of Jeff Flake, I think he is scared to put his fellow Republicans in a tough spot.

Also, this isn't a negotiation. We set tariffs, and now equal tariffs are coming our way. If we up them, they will be upped back. This is how trade wars start. Trade negotiations happen in agreements like TPP, which Trump threw out.

After "negotiating" a deal that good, Trump could start a donation site and get back more than he lost from the sanctions from Americans happy about what a great job he did renegotiating our trade deals.

I agree that they would have to put the trump tariffs on top of other tariffs. But getting through to trump is the important thing. He is the one with this power. The American people aren't going to feel any sympathy for trump if he gets personally sanctioned. It is his own damn fault.

I'm in Chapter 9 of Yakuza 0, it has taken me like 3 weeks to get that far. So if I finish Yakuza 0 by end of the month, how long would you expect Kiwami to take me to get through? If I have to wait less than 3 weeks, thats not too bad. I just have a feeling once I finish Kiwami, I'm gonna have an itch to keep going.

Kiwami 2 is so close that you might as well wait and experience that story for yourself. FWIW it's still IMO the best story Yakuza has ever had. (With 0 very, very close behind.)

Only thing I might mention is that 6 might feel like a slight downgrade mechanically after Kiwami 2 since they apparently tune up the new systems a good amount there. Other than that though in your situation it should be a pretty good way to go.

0's story is amazing, so MAN that'd be crazy if 2 is better.

Everytime the game switches stories I'm like "maaaaan, I want to continue this", but within 10 or 15 minutes I'm back to being 100% invested in the other story.

I planned on playing Kiwami next... then I saw Kiwami 2 is on the way in August. My original plan was to play Kiwami, youtube plot summaries of 2-5, then play 6. Is 2 important enough that I should wait to play it before jumping into 6 to really get the full extent of the plot/character development and such?

A. Celtics have a decent amount of guys that can switch onto lebron.
B. More importantly, they have the guys and the coach that will find ways to attack Korver and Love. They might even be able to force Korver off the court, which would be huge.

I have Cavs in 7. Just tough to pick against Lebron, especially with the Celtics running so thin at guard. I don't love Larkin, but not having him hurts.

Also, once again very early and could change, but the amount of votes is in favor of dems early on. And this is with a much more competitive primary for Republicans. We will have to track this as the night goes on, and this a foolproof method or anything, but a good sign for dems there for sure. No real way to track that with Ohio and Indiana since Brown and Donnelly were uncontested.

So I just picked this game up today. Just made it through the 2nd boss (the really big/long fight)... Holy crap. This game is so friggin intense and so different than I expected. Wow. I did not really care for the original games, so I didn't even expect to buy it until the reviews came out.

I'm pretty engaged into the story, even though I don't really 100% know what is going on. Out of curiosity, is this by design, or are a lot of things that they don't directly address that those familiar with the original series would get?

First of all, good for your subjective rankings, but I did not rate those matches remotely in that sphere. And quite frankly, 40 good minutes on a 3.5 hour show in anything else but wrestling would be lambasted. I refuse to give it a pass because we've been taught to accept 3 hours of shit when it comes with a brief reprieve.

Then don't watch? I haven't spent much time on b8 for like 4+ years. I come back, and this topic is the same outrage machine it has always been. That's mainly what I find ridiculous. The rest of the card was mostly inoffensive in my view, but if people hate it so much, just go watch alternatives! But my personal view is people in this topic obsess over finishes and the main event as a general barometer for most wwe shows.

And I disagree with your assessment too about 40 minutes out of 3 hours. There are generally plenty of dull spots in almost any sport. People watch baseball for example. Especially fighting sports too. 2 great fights out of 8 would be a passable UFC show.

When Cena was on top, there could be a killer show (and honestly, Cena was a great worker, and certainly didn't illicit indifference from crowds), and all anyone would talk about is Cena winning. That is all you, and most of the people here care about, who wins the main event.
