No. I suspect those components originally existed to help balance the magic-using classes (i.e. reduce their overpoweredness at high levels), but, in my experience, all they do is slow down play and add one more element to track.

Currently rereading the book. It makes the comparison to Bozo (among other famous clowns) multiple times, so the Curry version of Pennywise is on point in that regard (IMO).

Koga still lives, but Jen is there, and the situation is tense. Koopa becomes the latest to ride the Faye train. Ryan is cucked. Knuckles and Melon go out in a blaze of glory, thanks to Larry. Hana discovers what happened to Tardis ... the hard way.

I think this moon base is my favorite setting (thus far) for the games. Well done, SPG.

Well, last session was a mess, but probably the best yet. If it had a name, it would probably be, "How not to abduct children".

Kind of like how our past several sessions of Pathfinder have been variants on "How Not To Sneak Into the Heavily-Guarded Dwarven Compund". (Most recent attempt: Knocking a hole in the side of the mountain to get at it from the other direction. ... This one is working.)

Reminds me of my love of doppelgangers (and of giving them extra levels to keep them up as a real threat to the party, since they are otherwise relatively low-grade monsters).

Thank you all for your suggestions on dimension-sliding. Will have to incorporate that into my next dungeon design (... which is good, since I am normally terrible at dungeon design and need the practice).

I don't know why I didn't think of that. Thank you. Maybe it's because it's been ages since I've been involved in any kind of campaign involving the Planes? (Still have my old Planescapes big box, though I really like the old 1st Edition Manual of the Planes much more.) But yes, I'll remember that if it comes up.

Reading a dungeon analysis makes me stop and ask myself how to use a feature like the parallel dimensions in Strange Journey in a D&D setting (i.e. you use a specific ability to "slide" into another version of the same dungeon that has alterations to its basic layout, allowing you to get to restricted areas of the original dungeon by going through the parallel version).

Also: Thank you for remembering that Zelda II exists. The Grand Palace is one of my all-time favorite video game dungeons (because of unique enemies, traps, and puzzles that are not found in any other area of the game).

Rare gaming find of the day (though I did not buy it): Was picking up Munchkin Fu for the family, and the game shop had received a trade of a very old copy of Ironclaw (i.e. the tabletop RPG for furries). Same edition as the one my university game club tested out back in the day. Felt a little nostalgic. ... Then again, I guess it is hard not to be nostalgic about playing a horny kleptomaniac goat.

Melon shows us all why he is the Master, and Knuckles brings the chaos while Faye gets her snoo-snoo on again. (Poor Spike. All of Cowboy Bebop, and they never hooked up, but here she is jumping random mooks in a death game.) Dan has become Hypnodan, and Hana must flee from him. Koga is lost. Winter has lost his life. Sunny thought it was cool to hang with Mr. Koopa, but he only hung himself.

Like, I've got a ton of setting books for GURPS, and I've used most of them for Amber games at one time or another.

Those are my next GURPS goal. I need to look up a general list and see which ones might be handy to have around.

Nade and I are both dead already, and I have become one with the Moon. Beats death by fire, though. ... Looks like District 4 gets no food for the season. And Jen needs no mutations, for her thighs are as deadly as always. Poor Nade. Good start to the show, though, I agree!
