yeah, i'm really regretting investing in my crafters so much. i can wake up at 5 to craft stuff but i don't know if i can babysit... i'll have to nap at some point and then my raid starts at 3pm.

Well you'll get another chance in 6.1 when the next Hand/Land gear drops because getting a head start on crafting that is much more value and less hassle than battle gear.

Plus pentamelding accs is just value, that shit lasts years before you actually need to upgrade. I literally used endgame Heavensward crafting accs from 3.3 until 5.3 lol. My gatherers are also in 5.0 accs, not sure if I'll need to upgrade soon but no current plans. I'm also not trying to sell stuff on the ground floor though.

The real thing that's going to matter is the willingness to babysit your listing as the marketboard PvP begins in earnest

Also just having your crafters ready to go D1 in general meaning reasonably melded, prefarming mats, having a bank of collectables to quickly get white scrips for the books and potential mats etc.

It's a pretty straightforward cyberpunk story but what sells it is the killer presentation. I love how the gameplay conceit is fully integrated with the narrative.

I do think it could benefit a lot from the DLC release, but less for the simple closure of resolving plot threads and...I dunno, it just feels like the game is missing something and is just short of greatness. It's a well told story but I honestly don't have any huge takeaways from it.

Preformed parties can ignore whatever the ilevel suggestion is, so it'll come down to whatever party finder decides.

I think it's pretty unreasonable to demand full 580 from pugs. Full crafted is typically only necessary for week 1 clears. First two floors should be doable in a mix of tomes and normal mode drops, although the tuning on floor 2 can vary wildly (getting flashbacks to Voidwalker...) so who knows.

Greeding that second cast is extremely easy if half the raid isn't afk

Like, I had a pretty bad 30 minute run of Labyrinth yesterday, with a bunch of newbies who weren't sure how it worked. We wiped THREE times on Atomoses because people were lost and early pulling. We wiped twice on the final boss because people wouldn't get on pads the first time. On the third time, when everyone knew what to do, we killed during the second cast.

Surface Pressure is phenomenal but it's not even the best song in the movie, which is We Don't Talk About Bruno.

It's good. I love the songs besides the first exposition one. The characters and story are pretty good. It's very straightforward but I appreciate the smaller stakes and lack of traditional action, it's nice. Animation-wise it's a little flat outside of the musical numbers and some neat bits with the house. But I'm personally just bored by Disney's house animation style. I couldn't help but compare it to Luca's which felt a lot fresher.

You get full credit for the roulette but you miss out on anything you missed from the duty itself, ie exp, loot, and tomes from bosses.

It's your third point here man. Lessening the spread necessarily entails restricting the activities people can participate in, colloquially refered to as a "lockdown." You can vary the severity but that's how it's done!

This isnt gonna work for China. Omicron is too contagious, and even if they somehow managed to keep R<1 while under lockdown it would get back in the country afterward. Lockdowns made sense when there was either hope of totally containing the virus or a short term goal to achieve (e.g. vaccines, not overwhelming hospitals). Really, the bias is obvious from the headline and end of the first paragraph. The article wants you to focus on the strictness of the lockdown and doubt the grocery promise. I also like how Xi'an is described as an "ancient capital" (of 13 million people) which is some pretty goofy Orientalism. You can Google places and you know it looks like a modern city to me! This would be like describing 21st century Rome as "ancient" which is just odd when what is meant is "a place with a lot of history that is not really relevant to the topic."

I also don't understand your complaint about the numbers. You just seem annoyed they don't share your additional skepticism. They focus on what has been reported (this is a neutral tone, which I will admit is a political choice on its own) and in fact the part where they compare the numbers to the rest of the world is being done to increase the implication that their harsh lockdowns are unreasonable.

There is so much propaganda flying around about China, both positive and negative, that you have to constantly be reading things between the lines. And I hate to be the one to out-centrist Wang but if you somehow read that NPR article as being pro-China you've bought way too heavily into the anti-China spin.

I actually really love the subversion of the best friend turning evil trope they had going on with Ned, so I'd hate to see that. Punishing Tom Holland is fine but Ned doesn't deserve that!

Oh another thing they could (and should) do is bring Miles in. The PS4 games have done something similar but there's more room to explore that kind of dynamic. They have been teasing Miles a bit (first with Donald Glover in Homecoming, then with Jaime Foxx's joke in NWH) so it's not out of the question.

This would also be a cool way to use Venom. Act 1 is Peter discovering another Spider-Man and tracking him down, Act 2 is them bonding and Peter mentoring Miles as they team up to take down a villain, Act 3 is Peter gets possessed by the symbiote and Miles has to prove himself on his own.

What defines him is that he gave all that up to save the world, and then chose not to reinsert himself into people's lives. I don't think that sticks though, but then you at least can do a story about him rebuilding that life. I guess my cynical take is that part is open ended just in case he gets ejected from the MCU again.

Still, I like where he ended up. I agree with the take that this feels like a really weird origin story and feel like it is a good thing he is being made more like other Peter Parkers. His reliance on Tony Stark and other established heroes was stifling the character, and not having the "with great power" speech internalized yet was another defining aspect of the character that I don't think was necessarily a good or fun choice. You can really see this in Far From Home which relies entirely on those two things and is Not Good as a Spider-Man movie.

A bit late but the Marvelous Merchandise event that just started is a daily that gives primogems each day so make sure you do the first trade. I almost missed it.

Speaking of Red, why wasn't he playable? Such a bizarre decision. He only joins you as a guest party member when your party has two people, so there's no reason for him to not be playable.

I mean he most likely was not done as a full party member by the time game originally released, but there was enough of him to make a semi-scripted AI party member and trick people into thinking he could be.

They've been streamlining the jobs but at the same time there's been an increase in flashier gimmicks specific to fights instead of generic yellow aoes. That kind of stuff fucks people up. Nothing nearly as punishing as Titan deleting you from the fight but at least he told you it was about to happen.

Plus there's also the simple fact that a lot of people have not had to do content while it's current, besides like leveling dungeons which do have aggressive syncing. But for stuff at the level caps so much of it gets done after it's been outdated hard by ilevels and echo.

well a) some of us don't like the forced positivity vibes, but b) i'm not really complaining about newbies - if they were new, i'd understand it. it's when they're *not* new, and/or when they're clearly not even *trying*. if someone's at least trying, i don't care. and yeah, uncoordinated is one thing, but failing to clear a normal mode trial in an entire lockout, come on, that's pretty extreme. hence my wondering what on earth happened there.

Again you have to understand that a ton of people do not play this game regularly. They come around every few months or years to check out what's going on. You also can get absolute weirdos that level everything to cap via fates or Bozja in or doing all the sidequests in each zone, without even touching "normal" grouped content on most jobs. The important thing to understand here is the game is actually designed around this and that's part of why it's so successful.

FFLogs is one thing but add-ons for mechanic callouts and overlays in FF14, while they DO exist, are way more controversial in the community.

It's not even learning your rotation. It's straight up not pressing buttons. The truth is a lot of people play casually and don't know basics like "always be casting" and "keep cooldowns active." Or even stuff with elaborate fight mechanics, we all know and laugh at the classic newbie move of running away with the stack market but the game has added so much shit like that you just have to know. We get used to it by doing raids where they're introduced but I've anecdotally seen a bunch of people who quit during like...Stormblood come back to the game and marathon everything now and just be like "wtf is this shit" at all the flashing lights.

And that's fine right, the game gets marketed as a story focused MMO. I do get annoyed when people don't just use the trusts to learn mechanics though. I had a 40 minute run of the final MSQ dungeon today with two newbies, Ive seen multiple 30+ minute in-progress and vote abandons of the Hydaelyn trial and it's just like...why.

edit: specifically I think those two things (as well as the final Shadowbringers dungeon too actually) are a little pushed in difficulty relative to other story content and the devs can get away with it because Trusts are basically a tutorial. But I think less people use Trusts for going through the story than expected so you get newbies queuing for them and eating shit

It's pretty annoying that so many mechanics are based solely on visual tells when at the same time they are making the attack effects crazier and crazier.

I'm just going to have to turn effects off which is a bummer.

Whenever I think I'm getting sick of the Crystal Tower snoozefest raids, my roulette hands me some absolutely cursed Dun Scaith or Ivalice run to make me reconsider

Yeah there will probably be mats to buy. Not a bad idea even if you don't plan on crafting, just to sell those for a quick buck.

Literally everything you can buy with tomes right now is filler that will be discarded in a week and they aren't capped so the only reason to skip it would be to gear alts.

Also I don't know about you but on aether everyone seemed to be gating the EX party finders to 565+ as well. Given that, weapon is still very efficient.

Yeah in case anyone is wondering, 4 tome accessories and tome weapon with the rest 560 works for getting to 565.
