Last time on Agents of SHIELD... Noah blew up.

And... Lash is now here? And there's a hole in space-time.

Oh... it's a FEAR dimension. *eyeroll* is this another halloween episode?

And I suppose Coulson is dying, too.

Oh hey, his greatest fear is Mike or something. Oh, just some junk about him being afraid to die. This is some pretty good digging in to Coulson's character.

IT'S THE REAL MIKE Deke went out and brought SHIELD back to SHIELD!

Just in time to save Coulson from fake Mike! And There's Lash. And there's roaches. Man, DeathlOk sure is good at flipping around and blasting fake things in the face.

Oh, and I guess they took the chance to bring back Hive for a second as well.

"Is Deathlok sticking around?" "No, he goes solo".

Wait... AWWW IS THIS A WEDDING SCENE. They're using the forest in the middle of the base too. Mack on his phone the whole time.

There was a cut to Jemma's face where Fitz looked down, but then cut right back to Fitz and his face was up.

WAIT WHAT THE FUCK DEKE JUST REVEALED THAT HE'S SIMMONS AND FITZ'S GRANDSON

we're gonna need a new topic

Asshole general who killed her subordinates has a scene daughter. Who is a fan of Quake.

General Rick... Stoner? IT'S PATRICK WARBURTON! They must have spent a lot of budget on him.

Oh hey, another chromacon or whatever they're called. MORE MONOLITHS.

"An Asgardian spotted in the city"? Which one?

Title sprawl has the Earth back! But starting to crack?!?! Guess the rest of the season is going to be preventing the future...

DEKE

HE MUST'VE GOTTEN TRANSFERRED IN THE SMALL EXTRA PIECE OF MONOLITH

YES

Deke's first beer xD he hates it

Can't wait to see him try to have to pay for it all. "It's ok... I'm from the future."

Who is the lone person calling the Kree? Oh shit it's Piper, I KNEW she was a recurring character.

Oh dammit Piper.

And oh dammit, so that's how Yo-yo loses her arms. I guess it as too much to ask that it happened in the future with Kasius.

Oh and General Hale's daughter is a ninja.

And good bye Noah :(

who is this muscle man running. Creel? Yes, it is!

Man, past Earth is so weird. I'm missing future dystopia already.

And it starts with Kasius dealing with his dead girlfriend.

"Guns man! It's like cheating. You shouldn't give these to anyone unless they're a really good person." "You think there'd be a law." >_>

Does Kasius wear contacts? All Kree seem to have yellow eyes except for him. I don't remember his brother's eyes.

"It was almost nice knowing you" "You're a pain in my ass!" Awww DaisyxDeke.

Fitz decapitated three Kree and Simmons wasn't excited about it.

"I will expire... knowing I sent my friends home." Aww Enoch. "That's not good for the person flipping the switch, huh?" Awwwww Deke :(

Kasius just got shotgun axed!

... And Mack has to be confused with second Yo-yo.

Ughh I'm about out of time for today, but I need to find out if everyone made it back alright (oh they totally did who am I kidding).

Also, it's quaint that the future world is left with an Inhuman who can control rocks. Of course he can 'put it all back together'.

I want to watch one more episode. But should I?

Time for humans to revolt against the Kree.

I have a feeling the Gravitonium is going to be important in the end.

Ah, I get it now. Kasius isn't punishing the humans... he's just exterminating them because he's ready to leave.

Oh boy, more Gravitonium. We haven't seen this stuff since season 1, right?

This whole Tess being alive thing is kinda lame.

And now time for some zero-g combat between Sinara and Daisy!

Daisy kinda got her ass kicked, but predictably, Deke saved her.

But what a way to go... jump at Daisy, have her move a broken metal railway in the way so you impale yourself? Maybe that's even kinda lame. But hey, it worked.

And when Kasius hit the button... everyone screamed altogether, but all stopped at the same time as well. How silly.

Onto what I assume is the mid-season finale now.

"Your dad was transmitting from an old radio tower, he'll be back soon"

No way. He's not making it back.

Shotgun axe is back! "Doesn't the axe make it harder to shoot?"

"Shotgun axe... I get it now!"

These flashbacks to a time that the main team doesn't know are pretty interesting. I'm wondering if they're changing the future/past though, or just fixing things before they go back.

Yo-yo turned all the roaches to dust just like Thanos.

Of course a bunch of survivors want to try to kill a team of super spies. Poor old lady Robin.

These flashbacks of May being super-mom are so sweet.

This is a really sad episode for only having old lady Robin for one episode.

But hey, at least Deek is still in the picture.

Eww, Fitz is pulling the gross silver thing out of Jemma's ear.

I thought Kasius was killed. Kinda disappointed. And his girlfriend seems pretty irate with him as well. So much so that she's willing to talk.

Alright, May on the surface time. I guess she doesn't have to survive for very long. It's Enoch! "Hello!"

Hoooooly shit Flint shot a spike of rock through that guy's eye. Man, I forgot how violent these new seasons are.

Oh right, you've heard the best theme in the show at this point.

Are you talking about the dunnnn DUNNNNN dunnnn? It's pretty good.

xD Fitz took so much offense when they got upset with him for putting the SHIELD stuff on the third level.

There's a shot with Daisy and Coulson illuminated by blue light that makes them look like Kree.

Kasius killed his brother with a bayonet.

Next episode.

Framework Fitz is so good at being creepy and evil. I love how he proposed to Simmons without her being able to hear.

Also, the kid is obviously going to go through Terragenesis. And... yup.

Holy shit, Fitz is tossing so much shade on the other attendees of the auction. He's almost murderous. I love it.

Surprise, the kid named Flint can control rocks.

Awww Kasius's girlfriend is going to be made to die to Daisy.

Aww fuck no, they did not just kill Tess. This future world sucks.

"Alright you freaky blue bitch, let's do this."

Ok, Fitz and Simmons activating plan prison-break is badass as hell. Simmons just killed Kasius like it was no big deal. Fitz really screwed the pooch allowing Daisy to have her powers repressed, though. And the kiss and the marriage thing, yes <3

Also, Enoch is really growing on me.

Ah, the lighthouse in the future was a lighthouse in the past?

This was a fun episode that brought back old characters and had a military general shoot two folks and such.

uggghhhh

"I'd rather not go where no one can hear you scream"

uggghhhh

Every time Yo-Yo runs fast, they play music reminiscent of the theme from the first Sam Raimi Spider-Man.

Tess kicks ass.

This Abby Inhuman girl is just Shadowcat.

10 bucks this radio in the Trawler is connecting to Fitz.

Oh dear. Simmons trained Shadowcat to kill a man in cold blood.

Woo, the scene from the end of Season 4 finally showed!

Are Roaches just the Outriders from Infinity War?

I gotta say, this season is doing pretty well so far, for me. It's like... Agents of SHIELD meets Firefly and Sliders. I'm into it.

Yes, I owe a final write-up of Infinity War.

But first, let's start Season 5 of Agents of SHIELD.

Time to find out the weirdness that happened to send the team into space.

This not-human man sure is boring to watch do things.

Oh, I guess this is Alien now.

Virgil is gonna die.

"We're in space." "That makes sense. It's the one thing we haven't done yet."

"You already quit years ago." "I didn't quit hard enough."

Ouch, May took a metal thing in the leg.

"SHIELD doesn't have a space division called SPEAR or something? I thought you had guys hiding on the moon."

Everyone has shown except for Daisy and The Doctor, Fitz.

Aaaaand Fitz I guess didn't get to make the trip.

OH SHIT VIRGIL DED

Yeah, this is Alien. Except with a woman who can move with superspeed and oh there's Daisy.

"Right?"

Helmet guy looks like Starlord. Oh, and he's stealthy too. Also kind of a dick.

Little does he know that, after Gamora died, Melinda May became the official strongest character in the MCU.

Oh but he won.

And now there are Kree.

Ohhhhh helmet guy is helping out the team. HELMET guy is the not-redshirt!

And his name is Deek.

Coulson just gave an order and Daisy superceded him. What a jerk.

Agents of SHIELD... has become Firefly.

Man, the team hasn't just transported in space, have they? They've transported through time, too.

But not through space. They're in orbit above Earth.

:O

Ok, final thoughts on Black Panther.

That was a very good movie. But I think it suffered for some of the reasons that Doctor Strange did.

I loved the adventures of Black Panther in Korea. I loved the characters. There were so many strong characters that were a delight to watch. Okoye, Shuri... Nakia was alright. M'Baku was the man. Killmonger was a freaking delight. Such a damn good villain. And the soundtrack was amazing... like, this and Thor: Ragnarok are the first two movies where I REALLY feel like I just love and want to listen to the soundtrack (outside of GotG but those are all licensed songs). Oh, and the action was cool, the effects were cool, the tech was cool, Wakanda was cool, Bucky was cool, etc.

But I did not much care for the main plot.

Black Panther becomes king. Cool!
Black Panther hunts down the man who killed a lot of his people. Cool!
Black Panther gets challenged out of nowhere by his cousin who has been missing forever and just showed up and was like "wassup" and won and got thrown off a waterfall. Um...
Black Panther's herbs that give powers were burned but luckily one was returned to him so he could recover from mortal wounds and go back to fight. Eh....
Black Panther wins the fight, Bilbo gets to shoot down things in a jet, Okoye and crew all kick ass, but she kicks her lover's ass the most... some of this was pretty good!
Black Panther kills his cousin without getting a chance to develop him into a different kind of character. Eh...

This was the story they wanted to tell, and I think they did everything they could to tell that story in a terrific manner. I just wasn't the biggest fan of the story.

Rating this movie is pretty easy. Also, I decided on my Ragnarok placement - Hela just wasn't good enough to carry the movie above Winter Soldier. However, recency, general better humor, stakes, etc everything put it above Spooder Boy.

Black Panther

I like this story time. Also yeeee Oakland. T'Chaka is a badass, it sucks that he got blowed up by Zemo.

Omg everyone trolls T'Challa so much. I love it.

Killmonger with an excellent introduction. And Ulysses Klaue making his return from his much touted appearance in Age of Ultron.

I love the colors. Also, wasn't expecting them to include Mbaku. But I guess it was a good opportunity for them to have him show his martial prowess, and hold a guy down with an MMA hold at the edge of a waterfall.

WAKANDA FOREVER!

This fucking rhino is badass.

"You let the refugees in, they bring their problems with them." oof

Man this soundtrack is awesome. Also, Shuri is freaking Q.

IT'S BILBO BAGGINS he was in Civil War. Klaue is a huge troll. And Stan Lee is a random gambler.

Omg give me an Okoye solo movie already.

T'Challa just threw a guy out of the car and right underneath his sister's wheels.

The classic - two groups keep a guy prisoner instead of one taking him, then he gets broken out.

Awwww T'Challa is going to save Bilbo. "Great, another broken white boy for us to fix! This will be fun!"

WHAT THE HELL ERIK JUST SHOT HIS GIRL PARTNER and Klaue, that's ok I guess.

So Killmonger's dad wanted to use Wakandan resources to fight racial injustice across the world. That's a fair motivation.

T'Challa is a fool to accept his challenge. We know what's going to happen here. He's totally going to lose.

Yup.

Killmonger is kinda dumb. Trying to start revolutions around the world? Talk about instability.

Oh man, Mbaku's tribe in the mountains... what a cool environment. "I will feed you to my children. Hahahaha, I'm kidding. We are vegetarians." Also, like, super cool of him to reject the heart-shaped herb so that T'Challa can have it.

I guess, technically, the challenge isn't over. Kinda rude of these Wakandans to betray their traditions like that. "Wassup!?" Killmonger's Americanisms have been so great and on point.

And now there are war rhinos.

Fuck yeah on Mbaku coming to help. I mean, kind of predictable, but he's historically a bad guy to Black Panther.

It's cool for T'Challa to win just based on combat prowess. But it almost seemed like the climax resolved a little too cleanly. Gandalf and the white apes showed up to defeat the rhinos, T'Challa stabbed his cousin, gave him a chance to look at the beautiful nation.. and even facing death, Killmonger sides more with his ancestors, the slaves brought from Africa. What a strong, consistent antagonist.

This credits music is... kinda weird to hear, after that movie.

Post-credits scene - T'Challa is surely hinting at the world needing to unite for some reason. I wonder what that reason could be!

Scene 2 - what are these kids looking at? BUCKY!

Guys, this is it. I started this watchthrough on May 18... almost three months later, I will finally be ready... to watch Infinity War! (OMG PLEASE DON'T SPOIL ANYTHING I'M SO CLOSE I DID SO WELL)

Man, I enjoyed that movie, but didn't even get a whole post out of it while watching through. That's a good thing, right? Final thoughts to come after.

Odin didn't need much time, but he did his job right. Bit appearance by Anthony Hopkins, tells Loki that he loves him... it's very sweet. He could have given a little more heads-up to the two before Hela arrived, though. And why did she arrive right where he died, anyway? Kinda weird.

Hela... just a bad bitch who wanted to conquer everything and had no regard for life (being the Goddess of Death, and all). That someone could be so intimidating, so powerful, so threatening, piss you off by killing the Warriors Three and all the Valkyries in the flashback... and yet STILL make you like how strong and kickass she is? Excellent job. Not the best villain ever, but really well-utilized. Finally, a good Thor villain that isn't Loki!

The other gladiators were cute. Even being the dumb cringey humor of the movie... they weren't really all that cringey. It was really well-written - they played their role well, only straddling the line of being annoying and bad a few times, without really crossing it.

Heimdall, of course, is the biggest badass ever and will remain as such.

Doctor Strange xD That whole sequence was amazing and just states how much he needs a second movie already. But they better not use Mordo and just go full mystical/cosmic or whatever. I want to see even more special effects, but with less... Earth.

Everything about this movie was great. The humor was amazing... there were a few jokes in it that were kinda eh and didn't quite land, but usually there was a really good consistency to the jokes and how they fit in. There were a lot of really well done visual gags, like the skeleton's jaw dropping in Thor's opening speech, and Thor throwing the rocks at Loki's projection. There were even some that just kept getting drawn out... but well! "The hammer got you off?"

Plotwise... they were able to resolve Asgard, and bring Thor back around to Earth, or at least on his way. Loki is good. Presumably he has the Tesseract (and maybe the Casket of Winter too, that seems to be something up his alley to grab). I love that they fixed the plothole with the first movie with the Infinity Gauntlet in the vault.

In all - Hela did her job to help Thor become lightning dude without his hammer, cut his hair, accept his role as king...

I don't know what else to say! It was a damn good movie! Stan Lee's cameo was eh, though.

I'm not ranking it yet, but it's either first or second so far. Just gotta decide if I really want to put it above Winter Soldier. Definitely the best cosmic Marvel experience so far. And one of the best fucking soundtracks.

Oh yeah, I skipped over Skurge. Guy was always going to have his faceturn. Was predictable. It was cool that he got to go down, guns blazing though.

Hulk is the strongest Avenger.

I don't have a lot of time to type this up, so here goes:

Hulk and Thor had some meh movies. They were known for it. Loki was known as a villainous asshole. So Taika Waititi accepted the challenge and created the best super-team in the movies to date.

Finding Thor's proper role in the MCU has taken a little bit of time... Chris Hemsworth has always had a certain element of charisma that has been there, but being fully utilized was a long process. In Thor, he was just a stuffy old-style fancy boy. With a little bit of charm. In Avengers, he was the same, but played on his alien-ness more, for funsies. Thor 2... eh. Avengers 2 though, his character was pretty well-realized by that point, and his role was getting further explored for how important it was. As well as how just... funny the guy is.

So we get Thor: Ragnarok, a movie that just says "This is what is great about Thor. He is still old-styled and a little stuffy, and quite alien, but that's what's FUNNY. He has so much charm that you just take his style, combine it with being a complete troll, and let it run loose". Losing Mjolnir was... kinda lame, I'll admit. But he was always a tough boy. Now, he's just shoots lightning out of his face. Hell yes. Thanos has no idea what he's in for.

Everything Thor went through in this film... beating some fire dudes, revealing Loki to Asgard, losing his father, having his hammer broken, fighting Hulk, being friendly with Hulk, recruiting Valkyrie, etc... throughout it all, he stayed true to himself: a fun and good dude who loves a fight, and will do whatever he has to to protect his people. He's like... the best realization of a classic Asgardian from mythology. Even when throwing Loki at some baddies then predicting his betrayal, he was still rather jolly about it. So. Top. Tier. And now he has lightning powers, so that's pretty badass! And I guess he's king.

Loki has pretty much always been about making the best of situations, and that's really where he stood for most of this movie. He was himself... predictable, slimy, but quite wonderful. Thor had to go and tell him he could be MORE than the God of Mischief, and he listened, and of course came back as a complete badass to save the day. Finally... FINALLY Loki can be not on the Villains list. My Villains ranking has him on there 3 times at this point! But man, it was wonderful to see him go that route.

Valkyrie was badass. Clear defined character arc, had her own quirks, shot a big gun at a big wolf. All excellent. The real small amount of tension between her and Thor was kinda lame though. She was great with her interactions with Hulk though. Great character to add.

Hulk... FINALLY we get Hulk the character, and not just Hulk the plot device. Thor and Hulk as roomies was some of the best scenes we never got to see before. Hulk really is wonderful to watch fight, since he doesn't play by so many rules, so getting to go toe-to-toe with Fenris, punching the fire dude, everything against Thor... great fights. And then MARK RUFFALO having to deal with being the Hulk for two years straight... LOVE it. Guy has so many things to deal with, including getting blasted in the face with green powder. And even still, he's willing to sacrifice his humanity to save the day by turning into Hulk. Only question is... is he Hulk forever now? His human body kinda... died? Before he transformed. So uh... good bye, MARK RUFFALO.

Jeff Goldblum was just a great casting decision for the Grandmaster. Goofy asshole dictator. Sure, he was mainly comedy, but he oozed character. Also, apparently he's the brother of the Collector, so there's that.

The Warriors Three jobbing and all dying was kinda disappointing at first, but... I guess it makes sense to off them in this scenario. I'm really glad Sif wasn't around to die, but... where is she? Probably a main character in AoS s5, since that's where she always seems to be.

Thor: Ragnarok

Ragnarok means like the destruction of the world and gods and stuff, so good luck ASGARD.

Thor's story is JAW-DROPPING. "How long do you think we'll be in here?" falls down out of the cage immediately.

"Son of... a bitch! You're still alive!"

Ok, treating Thor as a complete troll was great, I'm glad they've stopped trying to make him be some sort of old-timey straight man. But doing the opening battle to Led Zep?

Hell. Fucking. Yes.

Thor taking the crown back to Asgard seems to be a poor decision. Also, new gatekeeper is rocking that shakeweight like a pro.

Does Thor still think that Loki is dead? It strikes me that he STILL doesn't know Loki took Odin's place.

"Sorry Jane broke up with you." I'm not!

When Doctor Strange left the note for Thor, my mom remarked "It's like Sherlock Holmes!" I was like "well... kinda. Same guy"

Oh hey, the post-credits scene from Doctor Strange! I am absolutely loving this teleporting every 5 seconds thing that Strange is doing with Thor. It's amazing.

"I have been FALLING... for THIRTY MINUTES!"

Even in death, Odin told Loki his mom would be proud of his spell and told him he loved him. Will Loki please FINALLY just admit he's a good dude? Come on, now.

Hela sure looks ratty. WHAT THE HELL SHE BROKE MJOLNIR.

WHAT THE HELL SHE DID NOT KILL FANDRAL AND VOLSTAGG.

THIS IS NOT OK.

Look, Thor landed on garbage planet. At what point does this movie start being funny again I'm like super bummed out.

Valkyrie shouldn't drink and drive. She's a huge badass though.

Hela just went full Jedi on this whole army. Awwww Hogun :'(

I now know why Jeff Goldblum was in the credits of Guardians of the Galaxy 2. This character is amazing.

Rock guy is pretty great too.

Infinity Gauntlet? FAKE. Casket of Winter? Weak. Tesseract? Not bad!

I guess the Goddess of death should have an army of dead too. That makes sense.

Stan Lee is a crazy barber.

Thor vs Hulk is literally the best fight we could have gotten in Civil War. Makes sense that they didn't allow it to happen - would've overshadowed the whole movie.

Jeff Goldblum, you cheater. Thor having lightning powers without Mjolnir is cool and you ruined it.

Oh hell yes, Heimdall leading a resistance.

Hulk in a hot tub. He is... absolutely the cutest. "Hey big guy!" "Hey little girl." Best roomies ever.

I need to take a minute to talk about how awesome this sound track is. It's very classic superhero movie with tons of techno overlay.

Was Banner in Australia canon? It seems like Hulk just left at the end of Avengers 2 and went to trashworld. That's a shame - I really liked the scene where Banner told Tony he wasn't getting involved in his pissing contest.

"If I turn into the Hulk, I am never gonna turn back." :O

Hahahaha, this whole Loki betrayal sequence is top notch.

Oh man, Thor lost his eye.

"You want to see who I am? You'll see!" Banner hits the ground.

LOKIIIIIIIIIIII

"Are you Thor, the God of Hammers?" ugh Anthony Hopkins so good

BRING BACK THE LED ZEP

xD Loki just walked right by the Tesseract. He better fucking take it!

Fuck yeah, Skurge faceturn! With his friends, De and Stroy! Poor guy got his redemption at least.

"Hulk, for ONCE in your life, DON'T SMASH!" "But... big monster!"

Wow. That was... so good.

These credits are fucking baller.

Postcredits - "I feel like everything's gonna work out fine". WELL FUCK THAT SURE IS A DOOMSDAY SHIP

2 - "You're welcome! And... it's a tie!"

I don't know if I'll get around to the other Netflix shows. The only ones I'm honestly interested in are DD2 and Punisher.

I think... I'm at the point where I'm just going to finish up the movies, then finish AoS s5 afterwards. I mean...

Question for all: Is there any real reason to watch Season 5 of AoS before Infinity War? Knowing my luck, I'll have it spoiled in the next two days, so I really want to get around to Black Panther and that movie as soon as possible.

If I treat the villain as Radcliffe + AIDA, the ranking for them on the villains rises, as opposed to just AIDA by herself. AIDA was the sum of all the influence on her, anyway.

Some people might not like this ranking, but... the season just wasn't as good throughout. Maybe if I were to rewatch through both, I would flip them, but for now, though it had some amazing highs, it also had some lulls, and thus...

TV Shows

Daredevil s1
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. s3
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. s4
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. s1
Jessica Jones s1
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. s2
Agent Carter s1
Agent Carter s2

I really need to watch some of the Netflix series so that Agent Carter can stop being at the bottom of this list.

Fake May sacrificing herself for the team was the best.

Arc 3: Agents of H.Y.D.R.A.

Mack had his daughter. Coulson never joined S.H.I.E.L.D.. May didn't kill the Inhuman girl. Fitz went with his father. Out of all of these, the most important one was Coulson never joining S.H.I.E.L.D. As a result, H.Y.D.R.A. won.

We got to see a world where the evil org. ruled. They were fascists. They used a lot of Trump terminology. Fitz was THE bad guy, aside from Madame HYDRA who was predictably AIDA. Coulson as a teacher is the perfect thing for him to do. Mack got really boring in this arc. May was a badass bitch.

Getting to see Ward as a good guy was great. Even throughout it, I felt that he was always going to turn again... but when he revealed that it was Victoria Hand who recruited him, and not John Garrett, you knew he was for real. Even going so far as to sacrifice himself for the possibility of getting his Skye back. Wasn't real Ward the one who killed Hand anyway?

Coulson was easily flipped to the conspiracy theory side. A bunch of dead folks showing up... Tripp, Bakshi, Ward, that was really fun.

Mace fucking shined like a diamond in this arc. Getting to be the actual hero he was, instead of the coward he regretted being in Vienna. Even going so far as to sacrifice himself... guy was amazing.

May's good nature forcing her to switch sides, Fitz being an asshole the entire time and killing Agnes :'(

The worst part of it all is that it was all according to AIDA's calculations. Every little thing was a part of a programmed plan. Radcliffe at least got to redeem himself.

And then AIDA went back to the real world, in a new body. She had emotions, and for a bit, it seemed like she would gain control of them and work through her new humanity to defeat the Russian robot menace she created. Everything with them trying to turn the public against Inhumans and SHIELD seemed like a good final conflict for new AIDA to help with...

But then she had to deal with heartbreak. And exploded.

For showing almost NO emotion the entire season, her actress sure took advantage of the opportunity to show that she could. It was awesome. Then AIDA was a murderous killbot with feelings, and went wild.

Talbot got shot in the head... and lived, apparently. I was really bummed, but why have him live there?

And Ghost Rider came back just to help them... rather easily take down AIDA? The only time it was in any doubt was when Fitz was with Simmons, and then AIDA had the opportunity to murder Simmons in front of him. But I guess it was an easy trap to make.

Coulson getting to go Ghost Rider was awesome, although he made some sort of bargain.

In the end, we were left with a broken team. Mack had just suffered through the loss of his daughter again, but this time, had 10 years of her. Yo-Yo was to be the support for this new, broken Mack. Fitz had lived a life as an evil mastermind. He actually killed Agnes. He had shattered so much between him and Simmons (at least from his perspective)... when he said he only had room in his heart for her, it was a beautiful moment. Fucked up AIDA, but it was the Fitz we all love. And then Simmons has to deal with yet another broken Fitz.

Mace died. May and Coulson had to deal with what was going on between them, although they also had to deal with the oncoming threat of SHIELD being, once again, labeled a terrorist organization. Daisy was like, the only thing really keeping people together there.

And then, space.

Who do I consider to be the main villain of this season? AIDA or Radcliffe? Also... May got taken out of commission and dropped points, but because her LMD was awesome, she gets some points back. Still, this is her lowest ranking yet.

May = Coulson > Fitz > Simmons = Daisy > Mack > Yo-Yo

Mack really took a hit there.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Season 4

This season was neatly divided into arcs.

Arc 1: Ghost Rider

The Ghost Rider was hype. Had some hype-ass shit. Daisy was kinda pointlessly dumb in this section. Mace had the whole issue of being the new guy and being annoying. Seeing the rest of the team trying to cope with the new bureaucracy was an interesting take, though. The ghosts were a little annoying on the ground that they NEEDED Ghost Rider to deal with them. But then Robbie's uncle went mad with power and he had to take him to Hell or something.

The first third of this season wasn't that great. Honestly, I was kinda not the most hyped for finishing it up, choosing to get through a couple movies and my Doctor Strange write-up during the 'midseason finale'. Ghost Rider was a cool addition, but I don't remember caring too much for other things that happened in that time.

Also the senator or representative whoever was lame.

Arc 2: EVERYONE IS ROBOTS

AIDA slowly turning bad was... maybe typical, but well-done. When we learned that May had been replaced, that was a whoa moment, and then AIDA killed some dudes and invaded the base and tried to get the Darkhold... Mack lopping off her head was great. Should've been a sign though - that she was taken out so soon.

And it was, because it was revealed that Radcliffe was behind things. Which SUCKED. The moment somebody died, he should've just stopped, but in for a penny, out for a whistle, as they say (I don't think anyone says that). Kidnapping May was bad, but... the other deaths happened because he was a fool to set up prime directives in a way that created loopholes. (we later see this come back to kill him)

Radcliffe going full coward, as expected, to work with Nadeer sucked. She was pretty lame.

This is the part of the season where Mace was revealed to not be Inhuman... and afterwards, he started blossoming. Once we learned his secret and shortcomings, it became so clear how he tried to make up for those, and it was great to watch and get to learn his character.

This is also where we learn Radcliffe's whole motivation... all along, he just wanted to save the life of his beloved. He was foolish - but wanted to save her. With the Darkhold's technology, instead of trying to find a way to put her in an android body... he created the Framework. A novel idea - a real world, where a little programmed difference would help people live a better life. After all, life is perception or whatever. And Agnes JUMPED at the chance.

Radcliffe could have stopped there. Working with the Russian was a mistake, but... just... you had her. Let the rest go, have AIDA ONLY defend the Framework. Say "sorry guys, I did all this just to save her", but he foolishly involved the Russian and let AIDA keep going on auto-pilot.

This is all followed by the finale of the middle arc - where Simmons and Daisy have to fight out of the base while it has a bunch of LMD's in it. We get to see Simmons get stabbed, but crush Fitz. Daisy uses the Rasengan. Piper and the new crew of redshirts start to get into the action, which is cool, as long as they last (Piper is still around though!?).

This episode may have been my favorite in the series so far. All the drama, intrigue... everything was done right. And then the end, where we have the reveal of what people are doing in the Framework, as Simmons and Daisy plug in... so hype.

AIDA's reaction to Fitz choosing Simmons is A+.

Oh yes. The way she exploded. So amazing. I was shook.

Still, the ending to this season felt... kinda lackluster. AIDA was incredibly strong, but I guess she was TOO strong and it feels like she was taken out pretty easily. Ghost Rider just... came back. Does he get his own spin-off yet?

And the Russian robot guy is just... defeated? Like, they were setting up a LOT of things to fall apart, but then just... pulled the plug.

I guess I have to wait and see season 5.

I need a little processing time...

A lot of the splashes for Agents of SHIELD have Coulson just being a giant head. Is this to perhaps hint at Coulson's future as MODOK?

Also... what? I feel like every single season of SHIELD just... TRIES to be as new as possible.

Season 1 - Standard operations, the team is just a team. Fury is there. HYDRA does massive takeover.
Season 2 - SHIELD is a shadow organization run by Coulson. Inhumans happen.
Season 3 - Led into with Simmons having been pulled into another planet. Stuff happens on another planet. HYDRA is taken out. An ancient Inhuman does things.
Season 4 - SHIELD is out of the shadows. Ghost Rider is there. Also a book of dark matter. An android is there. The world is recreated in an image where HYDRA rules.
Season 5 - Fuck Earth I guess, Agents of SHIELD IN SPACE

Season Finale time!

Radcliffe sure is just in time to save Yo-Yo!

And... Mr. Reyes is here to fight some robots and an ex-robot. Damn... he almost killed her too. The title splash is back to having the Ghost Rider flames!

NO TALBOT IS DEAD NO

ok he still has a pulse thank god

Robbie actually drilled a guy's eyeball out on television. Yes, it was a robot, but jeez.

Awww poor Mack is going to lose his daughter :(

There's some weird sexual tension between Daisy and Robbie.

Oops, Yo-Yo and Radcliffe just revealed to Mack's daughter that she is fake.

Oh no... DON'T STAB SIMMONS. Now Fitz is going to have to go with AIDA somewhere... or... what. WHAT.

NO NO NO NO NO NO WHY

they did NOT just kill her.

Oh ok, they actually did not kill her. Holy crap. AND COULSON HAS THE GHOST RIDER HELL YEAH

Get fucked, AIDA.

Ugghhh Yo-Yo is going to make me cry, threatening to stay because Mack won't leave. And his daughter disappearing in her arms. And... he's alive.

They... finished things up pretty cleanly, here. Are we supposed to accept that Ghost Rider actually killed the Russian guy through that one robot? I guess so.

Radcliffe... no... he's gone :'(

And I guess the team is going to just go in at a diner.

Or... are now in space.

oh

hmm

I'm really digging this B-lister team. I knew Piper was gonna stick around, but other redshirts are pretty good as well.

May ruthlessly killed a robot with a hammer.

Ugh fuck, the MOMENT I say I like the B-lister team, they all die. God dammit.

Ophelia is a fucking dom. Her idea of foreplay is to smash a head into the floor.

Oh shit, Ghost Rider is back. Just in time for the season finale.
