Yeah, you can say that the rule is dumb and a bad way to decide the qualifier, but it had nothing to do with why Japan played that way. Japan would have played that way once they believed they were through *whatever* the criteria was.

what if you disagree with the speed limit and you think the government fining you for driving at what you consider to be an appropriate speed to be immoral?

Speeding still doesn't change that, so you still don't have a "moral" validation to speed. What you have provided is a moral justification to not pay your fine.

No, I agree with Corrik. There are ways of getting (some) law changed that don't involve breaking it.

Speeding does nothing to change the law in and of itself. There, as I previously stated, is not a "moral" reason to speed.

If you have a moral objection to a law, than by all means break it while attempting to get it amended, but breaking a law that you don't like or agree with is not moral or right in and of itself. It's just illegal.

Ok, let's come at this from another angle. Would banning chainwhirler, by itself, significantly hinder them?

Absolutely - It kills Llanowar Elves, Siphoners, Bomat Couriers, Rekindling Phoenix tokens, Toolcraft Exemplars, Champion of Wits as the big main targets (plus random tokens, Angel of Invention, Earthshaker Khenra no longer exists for this reason...), it crews Heart of Kiran by itself on turn 3 which is a big deal and then it's also a 3/3 first strike for 3.

Chainwhirler is big game, as long as people are playing X/1s. And nearly everyone is.

Hunger Games is on that level no?

Yeah Hunger Games is there too, but it had more help than the Harry Potter series.

Hunger Games sold very well on release in 2008 and was well received in a time when Hollywood was actively looking for the next Harry Potter. Someone bought the rights to the film of Hunger Games almost immediately and the book got pushed insanely.

Kind of like Harry Potter did, but Harry Potter exploded before that level of money and attention was given to it.

For comparison's sake, the film rights for the first 4 Harry Potter books were sold for $1.25m in 1999 and Hunger Games for $200k 10 years of inflation later.

Of course it can, Harry Potter exploded because of PR reasons, not because it stood head and shoulders over the other books being released targeting young people at the time.

In fact, I'd argue Twilight already did so; Stephanie Meyer's audience was just slightly too narrow and she didn't write enough books for the series to become *as* successful as Harry Potter did. Also, I think Rowling capitalised much better than Meyer.

The music is a step up IMO and the book actually tells the story. Or just be done, that's totally fine too.
