Try sleeping with two pillows instead of one, and angle them slightly on the bed so that you're not lying down with your head and body completely horizontal.

Are you obese? That's the main risk factor for Sleep Apnea, along with snoring and older age. Only a sleep study can make a definitive diagnosis though.

Also, it could be Sleep Paralysis, which is not serious at all, but it just feels scary.

So I was doing some reading about water and salt balance, kidney function, etc, and I have a few questions for those who have knowledge on the subject, since I've read some conflicting literature.

1. When you drink, say, 1 liter of water in a 24h hour period. Does that mean that you will excrete via urine exactly 1 liter? Or is that water going to be excreted via other forms as well? Sweating, breathing, temperature regulation, etc?

2. I've heard that if you eat a high sodium diet, your body will retain water. Does that mean that water is taken from what vou would normally excrete via urine and distributed along the body to balance the extra sodium consumed? In other words, does this "water retention" make you urinate LESS in a day, since water is being kept in the body instead of excreted via urine?

TopicCan't feel my heartbeat in my chest??

So normally I've always been able to feel my heartbeat very easily, like a pounding beat. I do suffer from anxiety and panic disorder. Point is, every time I put my hand to my chest, I could easily feel my heartbeat. Even count the beats.

This changed out of nowhere like 3 days ago. Now I put my hand to my chest and feel nothing. I can only feel my pulse through my wrists and neck now, and can only feel it in my chest if it starts beating extremely fast. Then when it goes back to normal rhythm, I once again feel the "emptiness" in my chest, where before I felt an active beat.

I had a cardiologist appointment just today, she did a EKG, listened to my heart and said all was normal and didn't have anything to worry about.

Anyone else have this? It feels so strange after being so accostumed to having a "bounding" pulse.

Reason I'm asking is because I'm worried about some muscle pains I'm feeling for a few weeks now. They're mostly located in the traps area, in the upper back and it radiates to my lower back.

I also have pains in both arms, and find that they're tender to the touch sometimes. Also my right leg (but not the left one) has periods of pain.

And yes, I've been to the ER a few times, but they just did cardiac and pulmonary tests to rule out heart attacks and such. But now I've been reading about autoimmune diseases and got pretty worried.

So if anyone here has any experience, how are the symptoms like?

Nah. So far I had EKG, Blood test for Troponin levels, and x rays in the chest and lower regions. Last year head an echocardiogram, which I don't know if the diagnostic relevance stills holds up today. All tests were normal.

I can't live like this anymore. I cannot shake the feeling that it is cardiac/angina related and the tests just didn't detect it. This is consuming my every thought.

Why do you keep going to the ER?

Because when a particular symptom really acts up, I'm deathly afraid it's something fatal or some disease that the doctors hasn't picked up yet. I go into panic mode and just want to know I'm not dying.

I'm beggining to think this could really be an injury in my upper back due to my horrible slouching posture. I started to notice that the pain originates in the upper back and radiates across the rest of my thorax and arms. It gets a little worse when I stand and feels better when I'm completely lying down. I'm also feeling it in my lower back now.

I disagree. Many just had a crap education, both from family and overly religious school districts, for example, which contributed to their ultra conservative views. In this way, the individual Trump MAGA voter is not the problem, he's merely a symptom of the real problem.

Also, in 2016, especially in those crucial midwestern states which made Hillary lose, Trump actually spoke about their job anxieties. Remember that the rust belt suffered greatly from outsourcing and many industry workers were laid off. Meanwhile, Wall Street Hillary thought she could coast by those states basically just spewing platitudes like "Big meany orange man. Vote for me, I have a vagina". While her policy positions were gross incrementalist centrist garbage, which would further screw the working class

This "all Trump supporters are bigots" nonsense is part of why liberals live in a damn bubble and have no f***** clue as to how to even address working class struggles. All they see is identity politics and woke/cancel culture. Meanwhile, families are trying to put food on the table, they don't give a s*** about that.

And before the flaming starts, I hate Trump, and he's ideologically the exact opposite of me (populist left).

Point is: yeah, Trump is a megalomaniacal cretin who should never have been in the White House. But the reason this carecature of a game show host is even there in the first place is because the democratic establishment are absolutely corrupted and bought by corporate interests. You're a fool if you believe these cretins give a damn about the struggles of the proletariat.

If any of these centrist corporate stooges win the nomination, Trump will steamroll them. Progressives won't turn up and independents just aren't excited by incrementalism. The way to win against Trump is with a strong populist message of systemic change. The only candidate who offers this is Bernie Sanders.

Also the DNC is a massively corrupted and bought institution and people are catching on.

Seriously, this is one of the laziest smear talking points used to discredit Sanders. All it takes is some basic school level history knowledge to know that his policy proposals don't have any marxist communist base behind them.

Pretty much all of Europe, especially the nordic countries, use Sanders' welfare state policies, and they are all capitalist countries.. I cringe that there are literally jornalists being paid to spew this nonsense about him being some kind of soviet agent or something. It's nuts.

Here in Brazil we have actual communist and socialist parties and politicians, who would actually consider Sanders a liberal and imperialist, believe it or not. I swear, Red Scare politics made it that americans couldn't tell what communism is if it bit them in the ass. In the rest of the world, Bernie is center-left best.

if you are having a cardiac event it will be sudden, it's not some building discomfort over the course of a few days.

i had a similar episode last year, i was about your age, had chest discomfort and thought it might be a heart attack or something (i have a family history of heart attacks). went to the dr, got an EKG and all that, turned out to be nothing. heart issues at your age are very rare and you had all the tests to confirm you're fine.

try and relax, stop drinking/smoking weed if you do that, take some time off work.

My worry is angina. From what I've read, when you're developing heart disease, your blood has a hard time circulating to your heart, and that can cause pains around the chest/backs/shoulders/arms. In many cases this precedes a heart attack. So I'm worried sick about that.
