I don't really think "stop replying to them cold turkey" and "just send back low energy" are the same in terms of how it feels to the other person at all

Most people can read between the lines and get the picture at the end of the day though. Not sure what this person is like, but it's a common enough social cue to understand the connection between a permanent cold shoulder and not wanting to talk any longer. In any case, cheers to you and I hope it works out in your favor.

My favorite things at raves are the silent discos. Its very futuristic idea to me. Seeing three different DJs playing and being able to switch your headphones to whichever youre vibing with at the moment is cool. And when walking by and not being a participant its a really fun sight to just see a bunch of people grooving in silence

That's quite ingenious, I'll have to keep my eyes open for one. I'm sure the energy on the floor would be pretty hectic, considering only a third (roughly speaking) of the floor at any given time would be in sync with each other.

Hmm. I still don't know how I feel about these crossovers. Their apprehension to just go full ham and make them Standard legal rubs me the wrong way, but at the same time, I get it. I love Commander, but I'm tired of it becoming their "here's where we put all the ideas that aren't normal" format. It's kinda a shitshow at this point. But on a more positive note, they do make for some really neat collector's items and the flavor is usually magnificent. I'd much rather keep having this than Secret Lair reprints of older cards. I would probably buy every Commander deck if they do the same thing with FF that they did with Warhammer.

Half of the corporate game is garnering favor from your peers and leadership. That much is true and I don't think he's in the wrong for trying to do so. If you want to climb the ladder, you have to play the social aspect as well, being passionate about the job and doing it well is like 2/3 of the total equation. Anyway, that's kind of a side bar thing, but it does make me think that maybe he's seeing that you don't prioritize "being (most) loved and respected." It could be that he can see you don't command (directly or otherwise) respect from the rest of your team and he might have issue with that.

Now that all being said, I think it's a HORRIBLE option to assume anything of the man lol I would echo similar sentiment from wolfy and have a 1 on 1 with the guy. Mind your language, not like swearing, but avoid the "you" statements, don't make it right vs wrong, make it clear you wish to cooperate and grow as a team, etc; I'd still avoid HR at the end of the day if he just doesn't like you. It's not a fireable offense to just not enjoy everyone you work with.

Anyway, good luck to you, TC.

some people are really happy and excited about the fact though

It was hyperbole, of course some people will remember it. To expound on that, it's more like "90% of the people annoyed by it and the people being annoyed by people being annoyed by it will soon forget it, because in a short while, some other news story about a fictional character will take all of their attention." More in the vein of that. As for those that are happy and excited, that is good and fun times for them and I wasn't meaning to minimize any of it for those people.

Sure thing, it's just like any number of artificially hot topics that some media clowns decide to push everywhere so they can get people spun up for clicks and views for a few weeks. Just before this, it was The Little Mermaid and before that, I can't even remember anymore. It's just the Flavor of the Month topic that in a few year's time, somebody will run across it by chance and go, "oh yeah, THAT happened," and just move on with their day. I cannot fathom spending hours online talking about these kinds of things, and it's insane that people do.

Welcome to the modern housing crisis. It's slightly hyperbolic, but that's an accurate description of the housing situation in most major cities these days. This is why homelessness is such a growing problem and traffic is so bad,

I am aware of this and I do apologize for being flagrant in my last post. I just can't understand why people freely decide to live in cities when it's been shown time and time again that there is a sweet spot between population size and available incomes. It also has much to do with career choices as well and what not. As for those that are born into the cities or moved there as children, I do understand and am sympathetic with the overwhelming challenges that poses to them. Specifically, my beef is with the types that claim that they simply MUST live in a city because rural/suburban living is crap, then all they do is get a regular 9-5, order take out all the time, and complain about costs.
