it's one of the most common stipulations of independent rescuers, yes, absolutely. they'll even ask if you *plan* to have kids and include clauses they warrant seizure of the dog if a child begins to reside in your household within x amount of years.

if you think 20 is in any way unbelievable or even notably high, you have spent too much time in this community where being a nearly middle-aged virgin (or very close to it) has been normalized to the point of being the expected standard

i didn't really find my stride in that aspect of life until my late 20s, i feel like my count would be exponentially higher had i figured some of this stuff out while i was still in college

in particular it's just so much harder to meet people in the first place past that age, especially since i don't use dating apps or go to nightclubs or do anything to streamline the process, just meeting people through friends/hobbies/etc. maybe i should be thankful to have found that level of success in that type of environment, but i guess i'm just greedy and focusing on what more i could have had.
