For real though, I can get ronaldo because he plays in a sport where flopping is inherently more common and so all players kind of have an edge in "posers" quality just for being in the sport, but what has nadal done to earn that reputation?

I mean the world cup is only once every 4 years so it's not really a fair comparison. A better one would be champions leagues vs nba titles, and world cups vs olympic golds imo. And even it's not totally fair then because the US is always ALWAYS loaded compared to every other team in the olympics. Other nations don't care about basketball like we do, as opposed to the world cup where most other countries do care, so the competition is more stiff than basketball.
Lebron has 3 rings and 2 olympic golds.
Ronaldo has 5 champ leagues and 0 world cups.
World cups being harder to win than basketball olympic golds, imo. I don't think the comparison is far-fetched.

The fact of the matter here is that we're only hearing one side of this. Hers.

I watched my friends go through a really messy divorce. They were both very good friends of mine. I basically told them that I loved them both and that if either of them need to talk I'll be there for them and they don't need to worry about me telling the other person what they said. And I didn't. They both ended up confiding in me a great deal. Soooo...

I learned a lot from their situation. They both did and said fucked up things that basically ruined thier relationship. Both were good people...but in the same breath both of them could've written a letter/article just like this and the other person would appear to be some sort of a monster.

You accuse me of judging prematurely and yet you're taking her as doing this for attention as fact.

Emotions are a part of every human being that we cannot ignore, and sometimes it clouds our judgment. If you simply refuse to acknowledge that it's the case, then so be it. The point is that by your logic, Poland was "asking for it" by being weak, and that Germany, who was the one who wanted to have dominance over someone, can go take what they want and go "not my fault, they were weak!". In this case, by your logic, the lady was "asking for it" by being weak, and the guy, who is the one who wanted dominance over someone, can go and take what he wants and go "not my fault, she was weak!"

If that's really how you see it then I have nothing more to say to you.

Taking advantage of someone, emotionally manipulating them to get what you want, regardless of "legality," sure as hell is an immoral, scummy, just plain bad thing for someone to do. Do you disagree with even that nanis? You know what I don't like a lot of the time? Attacks that just don't work. Like in DBZ, someone attacks Frieza and they think they got him but when the dust clears it turns out he's not even scratched because he has a bigger number. That's something you see a lot of in DBZ, or at least think of when you picture the cliches. I think by the Cell Saga they work on the formula so it doesn't happen to quite the same extent. It's fine if they throw up a barrier or something, or do something more tangible like withstanding punches, just not being naturally immune to giant energy beams from lower level fighters. The fakeout isn't even convincing. Nobody believes that a random Namekian just vaporized Frieza before Goku could get there.

I rationalize that like this: When piccolo is fighting android 20, he mentions how the z fighters use their ki to sharpen their strikes at the moment of impact to give them some extra punch. It stands to reason that fighters can also use this defensively, maybe not always creating a barrier like android 17, but almost wearing it like armor. So it looks like they're just immune for whatever reason but it's actually that their ki is so powerful they can easily block out the ki of their opponent's attack.

That's how I like to think of it anyway.

How would you feel about it trdl if, more often than not, a character did try that and there was some sort of force field around the character, just from the sheer power of it? That's happened a few times, one I'm thinking of is in DBZ, when Future Trunks tries to hit cell during his final transformation and is repelled by the sheer force of cell's power. Would you accept that, were it more commonplace, or would you think more of it as just a handwave to see the character's power that they're going to unleash?

Also isn't it possible that a character is too arrogant or scared to think it through properly? Zeru **** his pants as soon as he realized what was going on, I think it's perfectly plausible that a character is just not in the right state of mind to think "why don't you just hit him"
