In 3 years that deal will be middle of the pack, the cap is probably going up 10% each year for the rest of the CBA. We do the same thing in the NFL, guy gets new richest deal and we go WOW what an overpay! THen in a few years it's like wow what a bargain!

Max deals are limited % wise, so it's not really out of control. These big deals are a sign that the NBA is growing exponentially, because if this is allowed then that means the cap is really high, which means lots of profits happened.

The thing I don't like is that apparently because it's tradition, users of fireworks just get a pass on all responsibility themselves apparently while the entire burden is on pet owners.

I think at best, if you have an animal with known issues or special needs, then it would be responsible to take extra precautions such as checking living areas ahead of time, etc. You would do the same for a special needs child, making sure the school they go to is making accommodations for them before enrolling them.

To ask that of ALL pet owners though is where I have an issue, as if pet owners have an inherent burden to just acclimate themselves around a decidedly more disruptive activity. I don't believe that tradition should just mean that fireworks users are just allowed to do it no questions asked and anyone who disagrees should just have the responsibility to go somewhere else. I don't believe in that. Pet owners have as much of a right to their own joy without accommodation as people who want to use fireworks. Why are we not asking fireworks users to go around their neighborhoods before moving in?

Ok sure, maybe technically by the definitions of the words drinks are food and are technically eaten. But I think colloquially, when people think of food/eating they are thinking of what we commonly call food. So I think its fair to say that soda is not a food because it is not what people typically thinking of when considering what is food.

If you had a glass of soda, and someone said are you going to finish eating that?, that would be an odd way to phrase that question.
This is essentially my stance. Edible means able to be eaten. You do not eat liquid, you drink it. Thus, not edible.

Harden - Houston, Brooklyn, a little bit of Philly but he still took a discount and isn't leaving for nothing

Kyrie - Cleveland, Boston, Brooklyn

I still give the edge to Kyrie
Kyrie is the clear winner here imo because of how much in shambles he left two of those franchises. Brooklyn was entirely his fault and they were forced to pivot on the fly back to how they originally were, which is fun but not contending. He p much screwed boston by leading them to believe he would re-sign there and then didn't.

Harden did the equivalent bad to houston that kyrie did to brooklyn, but his brooklyn tenure isn't as much his fault as it is kyrie's. TBD with philly but philly had a couple of years already and couldn't make it happen, not like he ducked at the literal first sign. It was always going to be something they were planning around, this wasn't a blindside move.

It's not a fix it's just a different way of doing things that picks candidates you like better in recent memory and/or satisfies your monkey brain which likes big things better
Why are you dehumanizing people who disagree with you

Regardless, I don't really see the appeal. It's not as though the people in the states who wouldn't be campaigned in are actually disallowed to vote. I would rather my vote count the same as everyone else even if the candidates don't actually care about me that much, rather than my vote actually counting less because my state gives 10 less electoral votes than another state. It's still not perfectly fair but I think it's more fair.

Orlando should be chasing guys who they think will contribute in 3-4 years. Anything shorter than that is trying to accelerate their timeline too hard imo, if that player doesnt exist they might as well just focus on developing for another couple of years. What basis would the government have to intervene in the fight between them however? I can see why they're looking at the merger/alliance/whatever they want to call it because of anti-trust but before that?

Like, yeah, LIV/the PIF clearly just used the fact they have considerably more money than the PGA to entangle them in legal disputes because the PGA would go broke first in such a fight and thus forced them to capitulate but as scummy as that is I don't think the government has a cause to weigh in there.

LIV as an actual golf league was flopping hard, they simply could throw enough money out to overwhelm the PGA and "win" that way.

The whole thing is shitty and somehow I find myself on the PGA's side despite how bad their policies towards the players were because the whole LIV thing is even grosser.

I dunno if one of the Russos wrote that, but I despise it. It makes me ick. It makes me ick hard. It makes me ick hard because Bruce does not think of the Hulk as a hero, he thinks of the Hulk as a monster (as he rightly should). If you want to say he calls on the Hulk in moments of desperation, sure. But it's not because the Hulk is any sort of hero, at all. A pacifist could pick up a gun and shoot another human being to save themselves in desperation. That doesn't make them a gun lover. Also, this radically undermines the shift to "Smart Hulk" we see in Endgame. This takes two fundamentally opposed forces realizing how they intrinsically benefit each other and turns it into something more akin to a lovers spat that becomes mended. Ick.

It was Joe Russo

This was an interesting journey we went on with Banner, trying to decide how we move him forward in the Marvel Universe. What makes him unique as a character is that there is a host body that is being fought over by two distinct personalities who hate each other. And both want control of the host body. So we thought an interesting direction to take him in is what if Banner, who typically uses the Hulk to solve crisis situations, what if the Hulk were no longer interested in solving those problems for Banner? So that the relationship is becoming increasingly dysfunctional. That's what's going on here.
People have speculated whether there was some fear on the Hulk's part about having to face Thanos again. But I think ultimately what it is, is that he's tired of playing hero to Bruce Banner.

Found what I was thinking of, this is the director of infinity war

One of the worst things about Hulk in the MCU is that he never comes across as nightmarishly terrifying as he did in The Incredible Hulk movie. TIH wasn't the best, but it had great ideas about how to present the character, and he absolutely peaked in that movie as a monster.

Mark Ruffalo Bruce is also kind of boring to me, especially when he has no conflict about The Hulk. And his Hulk doesn't look even half as intimidating, even if he's supposed to look like Ruffalo. It just feels toothless when he doesn't ever have to fear the beast unless he's arbitrarily mind controlled and it's completely out of his control anyway.

I dunno. MCU Hulk is just comedy vehicle. The absolute shits of it being Hulk was TOO AFRAID to come out and fight even generic Thanos enemies after getting beaten up once. What is that? Why is Hulk ever afraid? Why is Hulk not just a rampaging menace, bitter and angry after losing a fight? Why are we getting a movie where we have to have Ruffalo trying to convince him to come out? Any Hulk storylines are usually the worst part of any movie Hulk is in usually and they just don't understand what to do with the character.
Didn't someone involved with the movie come out at some point and debunk that, and say that it was hulk trying to teach banner a lesson not to rely on him all the time or something?

it feels like no one has ever done it before. seems highly unlikely that any player would willingly drop tens of millions of dollars just to save their owner a buck (i think suns are so far deep above the salary cap it wouldn't even open up roster flexibility). the purpose of waiving players is supposed to be so that both parties can be separated from a contract they don't like. so this would feel counter to that
Zach lowe's pod laid it out today, and it is confirmed they could waive him, pay him $15M, then re-sign him. Lowe himself was with you that he felt it shouldn't be allowed lol.
