Besides, countries are already telling Russia no anyway - my country, the UK, is arming Ukraine.

I'm only against a direct assault, arming Ukraine in secret is perfectly fine, that's what we did all throughout the Cold War.

Lets play it out a little.

Russia invades. NATO forces intervene and take part in a hot conflict in Ukrain. I dont know if it necessarily leads to a Russian nuclear response. Where are they going to target? The capitals in Europe? In America? In Ukrain? Why?

Mutually Assured Destruction runs off the principle that a country with nuclear weapons will not directly attack another country with nuclear weapons since they can counter attack with a nuclear weapon. Additionally a country with them would not use them since the other country understands that a nuclear counterattack is sure to follow. The entire reason the Cold War existed and still exists is that neither the US and Russia can attack each other directly so proxy wars were the only way to keep each other in check.

The problem here is, sure, they take Ukraine. Then what? Belarus? Then Poland? Then Finland? The more they take ownership of, the stronger they become. There needs to be a fine line of where they need to stop. If we just allow them to continue to take over things just because they have nuclear power, we'll end up letting them take every country they could ever want. By that time, there would be no stopping them.

We need to prevent this shit before it gets out of hand. And it will.

Ok so the solution is kill everything on the planet? Because despite what Fallout may suggest there are no survivors in a nuke war.

Lies. I threw 7 Heal Balls, which have the strength of a normal Pokeball, at a full strength Ralts in the Underground before it got caught. And that's just the times it didnt immediately Teleport away after one toss.
