I bloody hope so, I would love to trade out some of my redundent Wii U games for the superior switch counter parts. The switch may be nothing but a portable port machine, but I like portability. I have a vita for hecks sake, that shows how much I like portability. But with that said, I quite liked the Wii U's library. It was Nintendo's first hd console and I thought Nintendo came out with quite a decent amount of decent games despite the system selling poorly. Pretty much all Nintendo's big games now outside of Odyssey are Wii U ports or games that got thier start on the Wii U. They even reused the models from Smash 4 for Smash Ultimate. There isn't too much that Nintendo won't steal from that console and try to spin as a switch game. The switch ain't nothing but a portable Wii U.

It actually is not that high of risk. You have roughly a one in 100,000 chance of dying in skydiving accident. It is ridiculously low. I mean you got a mandatory reserve chute, heck even automatic chutes if you somehow pass out. Most of the deaths come from people being overly aggressive in landing (e.g, swooping over the landing zone at high speeds and hitting an object or the ground too hard than the chute not deploying)

They needed new ownership after Mr. Wizard went down. I don't know the whole structure of the organization but I assume his absence created a void that needed filling and Sony likely had a foot in the door since the PS4 was the default tournament console.

Nintendo always had a super weird relationship with Smash tournaments but they're also weirdly fine with stuff like Minecraft accounts working on the Switch so it's not really clear what direction they'll take with this. It would obviously hurt EVO's brand/value to not be a/the top tier Smash tournament but staying at the top for everything else wouldn't be a huge step down or anything.

I would imagine they pull out. I doubt Nintendo wants to be supporting a Sony event. I mean, it is cheap views, but Nintendo wants to have a death grip over their franchises and probably can't handle the slight that their franchise is just one of many games in a tournament ran by their competitor.

Although, Smash is too much of a cash cow for Nintendo, so I would imagine they would run a tournament themselves. Smash has always been kind of an outsider in the FGC anyways despite its popularity, so not being in the EVO is probably not huge blunder, since the Smash crowd will just migrate to whatever new platform hosts them. Smash enthusiasts are primarily interested in Smash, not other fighting games.

I don't know how much it matters. Evo was already feeling pretty corporate anyways with publishers having pretty major influence on the games being displayed. I would imagine Sony will just continue the trend with the newer games being showcased and the older games being sidelined. I am guessing Sony will try to gain favor of the fighting game publishers by showcasing them well to try to get more exclusive deals with them. And yes, Smash is probably getting das boot.

They were going to certainly lose in the civil court. I mean the plaintiffs only have to prove a "preponderance of evidence" and between the kneeling on floyd's neck for three minutes when he wasn't moving and not even getting off when your own officers advised you to, it would've been pretty grim. I guess the city hedged thier bets by settling in front of the criminal trial in case Chauvin gets convicted and the price of settlement goes up. The aftermath of Chauvin trial is pretty much going to be negative either way, waiting till after the criminal trial and trying to use a settlement as a pr boost would've been a bad move. It is not even working now.

Ah, you get a 1099 for the settlement. Makes sense. I guess you don't even really need to fill out another form, if the 1099 is filled out correctly. The more you know I guess. It makes no sense because of this as well. The cop gets the benefit of being able to explain his state of mind when he shot the perp, but the perps partner has no such benefit. They are throwing out defenses and things you would need to prove in a normal murder trial for these felony murders, which is absurd. I have no idea how felony murder laws are constitutional.
