Hey, there's this great invention you might not have heard of before, but they're called books. They're these things that are full of words on paper called pages. You can hold them, you can turn them, you can feel the paper on your hands when you read them, you can bring the book whereever you go and not have to worry about a battery dying or even look at a flashing screen. Plus, you don't need to constantly change the size of the text or zoom in on pictures (if you read a comic) as everything is right there at your fingertips. Oh, and you can also set the book on your shelf next to your others and have them all on display. :-D --- Don't like my opinion? As much as I love the series, it just would not work in today's market. So what? They can have both control schemes to make both sides happy. I'd rather be able to play the games remastered on my system that is always hooked up to my TV rather than always having to dig out my PS2 whenever I want to play them while also hoping they don't remove the outputs necessary to play it on new TVs. TrueGB posted... Nioh was Onimusha enough for me. Thought the game would do well as a Souls-like. It did. Nioh isn't a Noboru Sugimura story like Onimusha is. The later Onimushas that were all action, though? Yeah, I didn't care for those. Onimusha was always action. Where did you get the belief that they were not? Being able to get your popcorn and drinks refilled without having to miss part of the movie is the greatest thing ever. Not to mention not having to try and plan out a time to go to dinner before your movie as you can have your meal as you watch the movie. You want dessert? Sounds like you need to start actually planning things then, especially if you want to go opening weekend. It's not rocket science. This sounds more like you're inconvenienced because you don't know how to make plans ahead of time and want everyone else to be inconvenienced for your own entitlement. Plus a lot of the other major benefits associated with teaching don't come until after you hit tenure. Um, what? $34K a year is something you are supposed to start with when you have finished your bachelor's degree and have no experience. Hell, an accounting bachelor's gets you a $45-55 starting pay. A management position gets you $55-75 plus bonuses depending on the company. The tech industry goes anywhere form $40-100K. Teachers are barely making minimum wage. Hell, some base fast food positions start higher than teacher salaries. Also, did you forget the teachers have to buy supplies for their classroom with their own money? Any time a teacher gives students candy or something as a reward, they bought it themselves. No one gave them the money to do that. All those books and shelves you see in a classroom were brought in by the teacher. What other industry makes you purchase your own materials? --- Don't like my opinion? The median salary in the US is $58,030 despite the fact teachers don't even work a full year and, these days, rely heavily on standardized testing set by the federal government and the state. And they have absurdly generous pension programs. THEY ARE NOT OVERPAID YOU MORON!! First off, a teacher doesn't really get a summer off. They get a few weeks off before they have to start preparing for the next school year. Also, that break they get is to make up for all of the hours they had to put into planning and grading on the weekends and working after school. I want you to go into a school and tell a teacher that works every night until 8PM that they don't deserve to have summer's off. Secondly, if you think standardized testing has made teaching easier, then you don't even know anything about the school system at all. It has made it tougher. Half of a teacher's pay is based on test scores. If a student doesn't have double digit growth from the previous year's test, it is THAT teacher's fault and they are put on propation for the next school year because it was totally the teacher's fault the kid did poorly on the test. There obviously can't be any other factors. The other half of a teacher's salary relies on the 4 observations a district employee made during the school year. So if one of those days was a bad day for whatever reason, once again it means the teacher is at fault. Third, schools don't receive funding if the test scores aren't high. Thus, if a school is in a poor neighborhood with students that just don't care or whatever, doesn't have the funding to get up to date technology and supplies (or other things like having to ask parents for toilet paper and copy paper), and they don't get double digit growth on their test scores each year, their funding for the following year is reduced. HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE!!! Fourth, $58,000 is chump change and wrong. A new teacher here in Colorado makes $34-38K a year depending on the district and that is with a Master's degree. The only way you make $58,000 is if you have been teaching for 15 years. Generous pensions program? HA! Just another thing that shows you are clearly out of touch with reality. Lastly, sports players get paid millions of dollars and they only work a few months of the year. How is that fair? Rasmoh posted... If that is the case, then shouldn't teachers be paid minimum wage for each kid in their classroom and only for the hours they have kids in their classroom?
