I don't think many people out there would really know Samus. The games aren't huge sellers.

Zelda is an interesting one. People would know it's a game series but would that be it? Hell wouldn't surprise me if a lot of people think Link is Zelda.

Forza Horizon 2 is about to be delisted and that got me thinking. There's pretty much no guaranteed way to preserve games like this. If the next Xbox One automatically carries over both the current BC program and your digital purchases the games like this will overall survive for people who own them. If they don't? Well as soon as the Xbox One kicks the bucket they'll be gone. There'll be no way to back-up these copies. There'll be no way for a clone console to save them. They'll be done. Even if you buy a physical copy and emulate it it'll lack any content updates and DLC.

Weird to think about.

How do you figure Terra deserves to be in over Cloud? I mean I liked her in FF6 as well, but she doesnt stand out like Cloud. Crono would be a great choice though.

Primarily because Final Fantasy VI started off as a Super Nintendo game while Cloud has only really showed up on Nintendo systems in spin-offs.

Doesn't overly matter though. It depends if you're looking at video game history as a whole or video games that are significant to Nintendo's history.

As someone who had a Genesis rather than a SNES when I was little (well, Mega Drive in my case), I think the SNES is better, having played it more in the last decade or so.

The first-party games are of course great, and certainly are a large part of the SNES's quality. Super Metroid, A Link to the Past, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Donkey Kong Country 1/2/3, Super Mario RPG and more are some of the best games of all time. They alone compete with the Genesis offerings for many people.

However, it's clearly false to say that there are few great games outside of those. Konami, Capcom, Square and Enix have various games for a start. Super Castlevania IV, Contra III, Street Fighter II, Mega Man X/X2/X3, Demon's Crest, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy IV/V/VI, Secret of Mana, the Quintet trilogy, etc.

If you like JRPGs, it's no contest, but even if you don't, there's enough there to compete with the Genesis at the very least.

That said, I think the Genesis gets a bad rap. It's undeniably a great console. I just think the SNES is that bit better.

I was in the same situation as you and I agree with all of this.

I wonder why there aren't more companies like Night Dive Studios who go around and try to get the rights to old games. THQ Nordic bought Timesplitters which is a good sign. I wish we saw more stuff like this.

Look, look at this.

Go through all of it, and tell me how many of those titles are available as of right now. You don't have to look at the JPN-Only titles as those are a different subject. I feel like the point keeps getting misdirected, and needs clarification, note some of those titles were only available in Europe VC but not USA VC (which honestly was dumb of Nintendo at the time).

You would be surprised just how many NES games are actually no longer around, anyway I'm done with the subject.

Neo-Geo has added 85 games to those platforms

Nintendo are starting to add them next month. They also have a lot of games on 3DS and Wii U.

All of these games were the most downloaded games on these sites and we're supposed to act like it's a huge injustice they got shut down?

And let's be totally honest. The list of games that are truly difficult to find and play today is rather small overall.

Why does that make a difference? These are new consoles you can buy in stores and online for RRP.

Neo-Geo literally release an old game on Switch every single week too. Sega are releasing Genesis games on Switch over the next few weeks as well.

Who is saying that there should be? It's literally just saying upfront that they don't want to date someone who only wants them because they're trans.

Major factor on that initial desirability is what's between someone's legs. It's the brutal hard (no pun intended) truth. It's no different for anyone who wants to date someone who is trans.

There's a difference between going after someone because you find them personally attractive and if you're pursuing them because they scratch a fetish itch or because you want to have a new sexual experience.

Keep in mind this game is wedged between RDR2 and COD and COD also beat them a year with the WW2 theme. There's also the Battlefront 2 controversy.

There's a lot going wrong here.

On the other hand this will be the first major game added to EA's new subscription so maybe that is having an impact for pre-orders.

Hitman 2016.

People smuggle weapons into areas by launching them using mines and stuff. Some of the speedrun videos are crazy.

Prey and Deus Ex are examples but the developers usually seem to know all of the weird tactics.
