I hate to say it but homeless are lower priority than things like education, healthcare, law enforcement, etc. It's just much easier for these Bible thumper states because you can actually live in a shack or trailor and still have enough money for food with just social security. In Cali you can't. And again, cost of living reflects how desirable of a place it is to live. So saying things like "it sucks cuz it's expensive" is an oxymoron. |

Even his travel ban was late. I mean airlines already began suspending flights. Trump didn't do anything remarkable. And he has completely botched American preparation for the pandemic. There are tons of highly concentrated metro areas, San Francisco bay area is congested af, LA metro is congested af, Sacramento metro is generally packed... Tons of congested smaller cities. They were the first to lock down, they have plenty of money to buy vents, equipment, etc (because unlike these other trash states we are in a surplus and cna outbid any state in the nation). That's trumps reality... He wanted this all out bidding war between the states and between other countries for American PPE to protect Americans. California is a nation state who can take care or ourselves. Rnaked 30th in deaths per 1 mil population. For a state as big as it is, and the fact that it was hit first, the amount of deaths is incredibly low. It's amazing. Our curves are looking flat af. |

Even if the test was negative I would still say you probably have it. You should just act as if you do, self quarantine, be very meticulous with hygiene and where you go, stay away from others as much as possible. Take every precaution. |

Also I think that number is misleading because Louisiana is probably closer to 50/50 if not more than 50% black in big cities |

| DanHaren2019 04/06/20 9:18:52 PM #1 | There is no disease process that this thing follows, I've never seen or heard of anything like this. Its not as simple as pneumonia. You will hear commonly that it causes "ARDS"...its most similar to ARDS which is why we call it that, but this is different, its something else that is managed differently. We are trying our best, the critical care community is actually very close, we are discussing our observations with people all around the world and trying to come up with the best management plans together. I think we have some ideas but we really don't know for sure. I've also seen these guys do okay, get a bit worse, maybe turn a corner and start to get better, then the next thing you know they just tank within hours and die - likely from heart problems. Again, I dont know the recovery rates of non-critical patients, I dont know how they do in general. But once they are intubated, its a completely different game and its a major uphill battle. So don't think, "I'm young, I'll come off the ventilator" I've seen 2 patients in their 20s die. Try your best to just not get it. I'm slightly paranoid cuz I was in the room with alot of these patients. The nurses are the true heroes who have to constantly go in the rooms. |
