I don't think these have the dots in the middle. Yeah that's terrible. Ever since consoles started using fans for cooling this is what happens when you neglect it. Every time one overheated, got loud, this is why. So many consoles were probably thrown away when it could have been prevented with a little effort. I still have working launch day PS2/PS3. Anyway if you're careful with the wires definitely get the fan out and clean it. The heatsink nearby is probably also caked. Get a vac or compressed air since you won't be able to get the middle of the fins. And as was mentioned use air to clean the power supply. There's stuff in there you don't want to touch directly. All that's left is the vents in the shell. --- |
