She'd been considered "the kid" throughout the old series, not really part of the X-Men, but this is really the point where she's fully graduated as one of Xavier's "soldiers", for better or worse, when Sunspot can apologize for attacking her and she just fires back with everything she's got. Also noting that near the end of the episode, Magneto binds not just the X-Men but also Rogue and Sunspot. He doesn't trust them either. | CyricZ 05/08/24 8:34:54 PM #29 | This is actually a tricky discussion. From moment to moment, going through the motivations of the protagonist, one would think it's pretty politically left. Personal freedoms, living true to oneself, helping the weak or minorities, not bowing to authority.
That said, the series as a whole does have a few right-wing elements. The most clear one is that Kiryu continues to believe in the yakuza as a system, which is very authoritarian. Furthermore, plenty of times in the series the police or government will be established as a good system in a modern society for maintaining order. Also some games have a scary amount of anti-foreigner themes baked into their plots. It can be on the order of a years-long wait, at which point the kid in question has every risk of experiencing the puberty they don't want.
So it's not surprising that families with the means have turned to out-of-NHS sources, such as off-label care or overseas care. Whatever this plan is, it does not appear to be official NHS policy... yet, but if it were put into policy, basically any family seeking this out-of-NHS care may be reported to the authorities on the grounds of safeguarding the child. Sorry hard to fit that in 80 characters. NH House passed a bill banning child marriage, and it goes to the Governor's desk to sign. Arguing against was state rep. Jess Edwards.
