I only saw bits and pieces of the preseason but the snaps of his I did see were basically not defended so this very much feels like a mirage to me.

Unless defenses in the regular season also won't blitz and will at the same time play soft coverage on receivers which I'm cool with but I kinda doubt it! But I mean the Jets O-Line was being beaten consistently even with that so who knows maybe they won't even bother with anything more serious!
Everything about this guy has screamed "mirage" from the moment he went from a nobody to someone shooting up the draft boards in the span of a month or two.

I did hear this statement came from a reporter covering the joint practices between them and the Packers, though.

"You can tell which team ended the season 2-14 last year and which team ended the season 13-3." For a preseason practice, that's scalding.

He's going to bury Saleh as a coach because his organization decided to take a flyer against a quarterback who will immediately regress from his monster numbers the moment he faces anything resembling a real defense. If he turns out to be, say, a top 12 quarterback, it'd be mildly surprising. I was mocking the Jets when they made it obvious this was their pick and I was mocking them after they made this pick.

His last year of college is irrelevant because of his opponents. The preseason is also irrelevant because his opponents were barely there. All you have to do is ask the 0-16 Lions, who when 4-0 in the preseason.

I feel like every Jets fan is absolutely terrified by all the praise Wilson is getting because they don't want to get suckered into believing when they know better.
Wilson is a flash in the pan who played 1 season against a ridiculously soft schedule after being thoroughly mediocre before then.

Anyone buying in is a fool.

Because let's be real that's how most of their drives are going to go.

We're going to see two things this season:

How much Goff held the Rams back
How much the Lions held Stafford back

Bridgewater is a good defining point of "Slightly above average quarterback"

He's perfectly serviceable on a good enough team.

Cam Newton is, unfortunately, done. He'll get some minimum contract on a team that probably won't ever play him barring injury and just get cut after the season.

Which is a shame because he seems to "get it" a lot more than he used to, but his body just isn't there anymore.

AFC:

North:

Ravens
Browns
Bengals
Steelers

West:

Chiefs
Chargers
Raiders
Broncos

South

Titans
Colts
Jags
Texans

East

Bills
Dolphins
Patriots
Jets

NFC:

North

Packers
Bears
Vikings
Lions

West (Every team in this division could easily go over .500)

Rams
49ers
Seahawks
Cardinals

South

Buccaneers
Saints
Panthers
Falcons

East

Cowboys
WFT (Fitz might actually be the second best QB in the division...)
Eagles
Giants

NFC East was hard, because the bottom 3 could win anywhere from 3 games to 8 and it wouldn't surprise me at all, but it's the Cowboys then everything else. I think every team in the NFC West is a playoff contender. Every team in the AFC West could win 8 games or more. AFC North had the hardest division winner to pick. I mainly still went with the Ravens just because Cleveland is Cleveland.

Playoffs:

Chiefs
Bills
Ravens
Titans

Browns
Chargers
Colts

Rams
Bucs
Packers
Cowboys

49ers
Seahawks
Bears

The 49ers were so much better than their record but had the injury bug to an insane degree. Colts and Bears have the defense to get into the playoffs even with middling QB play. (The Colts also have the Jags and Texans, two dumpster fires, in their division.) Chargers with Herbert were suddenly a good team and they learned how to close games. They had that big clunker in NE, but they followed that with 3 consecutive 3 point wins.

The Colts have a much easier division but a much worse schedule than the Dolphins, so I could see Miami, who I believe overachieved last year, riding that to take the spot. The Dolphins get the middling NFC South. The Colts get the murderer's row NFC West.

I think the Eagles will be pretty bad

It's just that the Falcons... Are the Falcons.

Like, I'm already picking a team I think has a ceiling of like 6 wins this season, but it also comes with the "Not Falcons or Lions" tag, which is a strong motivator~

I should've been to bed well over an hour ago, but this eldritch trainwreck of a game is just too amazing to drop.

It's heading to the 16th inning tied 3-3 after the teams stranded over 20 runners combined in a scoreless 10-15th, then the Dodgers scored two in the 15th on singles against a newbie pitcher, only for the Padres to get a home run that was long enough by about a foot by someone who was 0-6 and had already recorded a golden sombrero.

The Dodgers have intentionally walked like 7 or 8 guys. There's been 4 or 5 rundowns on runners between third and home. The game is utter madness and futility in the highest form. One player is 0-7. Several are 0-6.

And I just can't stop watching it when I have work tomorrow.

One thing I heavily recommend though:

Do not bother going for every achievement unless you want to spend an extra 60+ hours after beating the game, with at least half of it on monotonous BS they stuck achievements behind.

Though Strife has a good point. There isn't one "bad" major character in the game.

literally never heard of this game and there's apparently 3 of them
All Battle Network games also use it as a currency.

There is a very loose connection between the tail end of those games and Star Force, if I recall right.

Let's see what crazy risky team I pick to either get it out of the way early or die on week 1... Well ok, not a huge risk.

Panthers. Jets got baited by a flash in the pan QB and will be a dumpster fire yet again. Panthers schedule is pretty tough this year and this feels like a forgettable sub-500 team that no one's really going to notice. I don't even know who their quarterback is.

Oh, it's Sam Darnold.... Kinda hope Sam just balls out on his old team.

I watch sporadically, but when people go on runs I tune out. I doubt I'll even glance at it until this current one ends.

The show isn't remotely interesting to watch when it's like this, and I wish they'd bring a maximum days limit back.
