No.

First of all, ISIS isn't a country. They are an insurgency. They have no formal alliance. They have no army to call upon. They are terrorists. Nearly everyone in the world is against them.

Second, this shit has been going on for decades. We are just more aware of it now because of global coverage. I mean, look at all the major IRA attacks during the 80's and 90's. How many of them can you name personally?

Third, wars aren't fought like that anymore. People are so interdependent on each other, not only to trade resources but also on each other's production. Countries are so specialized that it is pretty much impossible to outright declare war. Instead, there is cyber-warfare and small scale wars fought in third world countries where enemies back rival factions discretely.

Don't buy into media fear monger bullshit.

While I agree, its worth noting that similar things were said about national interdependence before WW1.

I understand that, but there is a huge difference; in WWII they were looking at trading raw resources. Nowadays, countries benefit from specialized (and often less protected) wokers. Whereas a country could simply invade territory that contained valuable resources (such as Japan's invasion of the Dutch East Indies for thier oil reserves), nowadays though, things are a lot more complex.

Of course, of course. It's just an interesting point of comparison, I dont think WW3 is coming.

It was both. They attacked western culture by attacking women.

That is a useless distinction. The attacker was probably not targeting women per se. Which makes the writer's perspective useless horse shit, because it's just an attempt to shoe horn misogyny and the patriarchy into everything per the usual. *shrug*

Did you think the Orlando shooting wasn't "targeting gay people per se" as well?

I'm not sure the two scenarios are totally comparable. Idk. Its a horrible thing either way.

I get why she did it, she's a girl and she's scared. Emotionally it's a tall order. Can't blame her for not being up to the task.

But yeah it's the wrong pragmatic, logical decision and just supports terrorism and the ending/ruining of more lives.

This seems overly harsh. I'd compare it more to someone taking time off to deal with a personal tragedy. She deserves to take some time off and when she's ready her fans will be excited to see her.

Don't forget the classic UR casual misogyny.

I'm sorry you feel the need to categorize the significance of mass murder under geographical location and ideology of the perpetrator. I personally don't but to each his own.

You don't feel sorry, because it's happening in no fewer than 20 counties you couldn't name because it doesn't make the mainstream news and you don't care enough to actually look it up. Islamic terrorism is a big issue because the barbarity spills out of those regions and affects the civilized areas.

But keep making excuses to avoid answering my question. I know none of you regressives or apologists can.

How has this "conspiracy theory" been debunked? Be specific with facts.

The original source recanted his claim, family said it wasnt true, reporting networks redacted their coverage, etc.

Why are people talking about how they agree or disagree when the real matter is that the president talks like an 12 year old? He should elaborate more than just "He's a loser". Even if its all filler that's been said before atleast it might seem smart to some people. But apparently "Hes a loser" is all you need these days to win people over...

I dislike Trump more than anyone, and honestly I think calling terrorists "losers" and moving on is by far the most effective way of dealing with them. They thrive on media attention and outrage. It's how they gauge success. Calling them losers gives them what they really deserve - disdain.

Yeah, gotta agree with this.

I'm interested in what reading about whichever recent generic white christian mass-muderer did so specifically because of "death to America"

Did he shout dearth to America? Didn't read, he's obviously a Muslim committing this act of violence and therefore a terrorist. You're right, violent Christians wouldn't say "death to America," they're just ordinary nutjobs, not terrorists

Who are all these Christian terrorists in western nations you're talking about? And by that, I don't mean someone who may have been a terrorist, I mean someone whose terrorist attack was specifically motivated by Christianity?

Why does it only count if it's in the west? Seems like a weird qualifier.

I recall Trump wanting a travel ban from Syria. Easily could have happened here. Activist judges blocked Trump's ban, though.

Yes, the travel ban would have stopped an American citizen from returning to the US.

You'd think the advent of the internet would make people more aware of the past...

Every bad shit the baby boomers love to whine about millennial (lazy, entitled, no work ethic, having Alex all the time) was said about the baby boomers themselves by their parents and grandparents.

Every generation thinks the next one is shittier than they are. Every generation goes through a phase where this is the end of the world. Every generation is, on average, smarter than their parents.

Maybe some day one of these generations will be smart enough not to repeat history...

Again...
Baby Boomers hate millennials
Gen X hates millennials
Gen Z hates millennials

Literally every living generation hates millennials.

Actually, most people dont give a shit. So a more accurate claim would be that no generation cares about any other.
