I really loved season one, but with a different team doing Before the Storm, I had some hesitation before the good reviews won me over and I bought it. I thought it was absolutely fantastic. As someone who was rather meh on Chloe, I really enjoyed playing as her and seeing things from her perspective. Thoughts: -I love the setting of Arcadia Bay and all the characters there, so just going back was a treat. Seeing things a few years before the original was neat. -The (not) DnD session might have been my favorite part on the whole, it was that good. I would legitimately play more of that if they made it a standalone thing. -It was great getting to know Rachel, she was a very interesting character, coming off as extremely charismatic but also extremely manipulative. It felt natural to have Chloe open up to her despite the boundaries she would typically put up with other people. -That ending really kicked things up. I wasn't expecting anything supernatural, but I would love for something strange to play a role in the story. There's definitely something odd about Rachel and her banshee scream. I wouldn't be surprised if it is somehow connected to the woman her dad met in the park, that lady was way too mysterious to just be her dad's new fling. Also, I think I agree with the theory that -Knowing that -I thought the graffiti was a nice way to incorporate the collectibles from the original in a Chloe way. -About Max, I can sort of understand her loss of contact with Chloe. I tend to drift away from people if I don't see them regularly, and I've stopped talking with a lot of friends from college especially now that I've graduated. For some people, distance can be a real deterrent to conversation. Add in the trauma from William's death and Chloe's struggles in dealing with it, and I could easily understand how Max might have found it easier to simply ignore Chloe and Arcadia Bay once she left, even if it wasn't right. Overall I came away feeling very good about the game, and I'm eagerly awaiting the next episode. I didn't play the first game until it was completely released, so this wait is going to be brutal. --- "Video games are meant to be just one thing. Fun.
