Why should you be either? It's not something that merits pride or disgust.

Because I've wasted 5000 days on GameFAQs.

There's no tracker for spending the whole day here, just logging into the site with an active topic. Hell, if you had the site bookmarked as your homepage, you could get the karma without interacting with the site no more than once a week.

I still visited this site 5000 times. Then again, there are people who actually walk around outside glued to their cell phones, so maybe I'm not so bad in comparison

I live in Indiana. I'd rather put a gun in my mouth than live anywhere else in the Midwest, or even America. I've already been hospitalized once for suicidal inclinations, who knows.

Wow dude...hey can you you tell me more what that's like? I mean the suicidal inclinations and all. I'm just kind of interested to know more in case if I'm ever in that kind of situation. And yes...im actually being serious here.

Sure. I've lived with clinical depression for about 25-26 years. My mother tells others that she hasn't seen me happy since I was still a pre-teen. Something like suicidal thoughts or attempts didn't happen with me until I was in my early 20s. This tends to happen when you've never had any friends and never felt like you belonged in any school or group. That tends to happen when you didn't have a father growing up, which was the case with me. This is further worsened when you take into consideration that I also grew up with an older sister who physically and mentally abused me.

To reach a point in which you consider suicide usually comes after years and years of hopelessness. Sure, there are some statistical outliers where you see some teen jump off a bridge because he was bullied, but more often than not, depression is a slow-acting but very fatal poison that destroys you from the inside over the course of years. You see life as a zero-sum game, because zero good things have happened to you. I have also been afflicted with four years of insomnia. The eye bags convey this well.

So...how's it like in a mental ward?

The quintessential American. They see mental illness and crippling suffering like Vincent Price does with witches. They do not care about you, they offer no sympathy or empathy, and they couldn't give a shit about you in any reality they inhabit. The quintessential Christian America.

so you really like indiana huh? but why?

No, I hate Indiana. Completely and utterly. I regret ever being born here. You're surrounded by pent-up hostility and people who constantly claim they're Christian but will sooner stab you in the back as soon as look at you. Everyone is secretly miserable because all the interesting places are surrounded by miles and miles of cornfield. Even then, the state motto is literally

"You have to go through us to get some place better."

And not "Iraq War" levels either. I'm talking, an actual war.

It probably felt like an "actual war" to the roughly hundred thousand people who died as a result. Just like the Second Congo War probably really did feel like the planet's deadliest conflict since WWII to the 860,000 people (at an absolute minimum) who died by 2008.

Don't twist my words into something malign, you know what I meant.

What did you mean?

Gladly. Let me point out some distinct differences between something like World War II and The War on Terror in the Middle East. Things like America invading Iraq and Afghanistan may be controversial, and a lot of people don't agree that we even should have been over there to begin with, but that's not what I'm really focusing on here. When America waged war against Saddam, the only people who really "felt" it, were the soldiers, the Iraqi government, and the denizens of Iraq. And it was also pretty one sided.

Most Americans lived through this war by watching clips of it on television or looking at pictures online. Also, Americans didn't really feel any impact from said war economically or otherwise. We weren't buying bonds, rationing out gasoline and food, and there weren't entire factories filled with civilians working night and day to keep the war effort supplied. I'm not saying all that stuff in the Middle East wasn't a war or was completely pointless or anything like that.

I'm just saying that certain wars differ from others in a myriad of ways. And that whatever war is going to happen within the next 50 year or so will make Americans almost wish it was just another struggle against terrorism somewhere in some sand-blasted hell. I have a feeling that the next war is going to have a bit more impact than that. And it's going to be a terrible one.

And not "Iraq War" levels either. I'm talking, an actual war. Whether it's global or not, I am not certain, but I can tell something is boiling across societies and countries. I don't know what it is, but it feels like something is going to come to a head, sooner or later. I don't like the tension in America and certain other countries.

Apparently only certain outfits can be worn that change your appearance, and if you're still near the beginning, the game forces its "canon" wardrobe on you anyway. Wow, it's like we haven't progressed at all since the SNES! A game that came out in 2012 allows me to wear things that actually appear on my body! Why are these DQ games so highly lauded again? I'm seriously wondering here, because this is my first DQ.
