Meh. Seems like a waste. RE4 doesnt feel dated to the point of needing a remake, wheres 1-3 most definitely did.
Hopefully they'll approach it like the FF7 remake, where it's more of a re-imagining. But the RE4 story isn't good enough for that to be interesting honestly.

Hopefully not. RE4 still feels great to play. And RE5 and 6 didn't expand on 4's gameplay in any meaningful way. That's a sign that the game still holds up and doesn't need more attention, especially given the 10 million ports that exist for newer consoles. In contrast, RE2 and 3 had some pretty glaring design quirks that made them difficult for people to jump into, unless they'd played them before.

It's a hobby like any other. Some people enjoy immersing themselves in the story of a particular fictional world. It's the same reason that huge fans of the A Song of Ice and Fire books, for example, will buy stuff like A World of Ice and Fire, or why WoW fans might buy the companion novels.

At least they don't have 500k in cases. They aren't perfect but they have handled it way better than the U.S.
That's the bright side of having deadly viral outbreaks every few years.

There's an interesting documentary called "Contagion!" here: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8219352/

In 2018 it was predicted that a deadly flu-like pandemic would originate from Southeast Asia and spread around the globe. They even predicted the signature spiky shape of the virus itself.

Not sure what you mean by "deep". The appeal of open world games like Skyrim and Fallout 3 / NV / 4, at least to me, is the freedom to go wherever, whenever. You can play for hundreds of hours without completing the main quest if you want. There are collectibles like books and other lore items, and the leveling and crafting systems are kind of interesting, but nothing to write home about. But the combat and exploration are interesting enough that I'll spend a lot of time wandering into random caves and dungeons just to see what's inside (and smash some teeth).

Wait what
I was a little misinformed (not much though). The nature of the virus as a fat-enclosed body means that soap and warm water are far more effective than anything else at breaking it up. Reasonably high alcohol-content sanitizer is probably fine, but with the downside that it coats your hands if you use it too often.

The final (non-epilogue) chapter of the Deathly Hallows, "A Flaw In the Plan", is masterful writing. Every single word has a purpose. The imagery is powerful, and it's probably one of the most satisfying endings of a 7-book series that anyone could ask for. Change one small thing and the events are wildly different. It makes every re-read of the series worthwhile.

I dont believe the country will shut down to the point that people who dont buy 3 months worth of food will die.
Maybe not, but I'm simply pointing out that the actual virus is not necessarily the worst part of the pandemic.

Things are actually fairly normal around here, besides people washing their hands and sanitizing more. Grocery stores seem to have a normal amount of stock on shelves (may not have as much product in their back rooms though). A big box store ran out of toilet paper and hand sanitizer is pretty scarce all around (which is funny considering the virus is unaffected by alcohol), but otherwise fine.

Majority of the deaths are the elderly.
That won't stop the economic aspects, which are far more dangerous than the virus itself to most people. Imagine how many people can't afford to take time off work, or those that won't have enough supplies to survive.

No one can answer that for sure. I've heard estimates that in 3-6 months, those who are not healthy enough to survive the virus will be dead, and those who are healthy enough will have survived and likely won't get it again. Hopefully the social aspect of things calms down sooner than that.
